Street & Event Correx (street correx printing)

Street correx printing for signs that come down again

Think of the 10k fun run. Arrows at every turn, a sign on every lamp post along the high street, covers on the bollards outside the town hall. Three weeks later it all comes down and goes in the recycling or the garage. That's the life of a street sign, and it's why Correx is the board for it. Fluted polypropylene is light, waterproof and cheap enough to put up in dozens.

What goes where in street correx printing

  • Round a lamp post column: Lamp Post Wraps in three formats: a standard wrap, a sleeve and a raised wrap.
  • On a lamp post, readable from both directions: Lamp Post Toblerone Signs, the three-sided ones you see at election time.
  • Over a bollard: Printed Bollard Covers in two sizes, A and B, for forecourts, car parks and event entrances.
  • Pointing the way: Venue Arrow Signs tied to railings, posts or fencing.
  • Along the top of a fence: Fence Top Signs for pitch-side and event advertising.
  • Standing on its own: A1 Correx Triangle Signs.
  • Poster-shaped: Correx Poster Boards in Single Crown, Double Crown, Quad, Double Quad and 4 Sheet, on 3.5mm or 5mm Correx.

About the board

All street correx printing is full colour. 3.5mm Correx covers the whole range, and poster boards also come in a thicker 5mm. It's waterproof and light, so one person can carry a bundle down a street and fix them at height. The trade-off: in strong wind, a badly fixed board can flap or crease, so use plenty of cable ties or a proper frame. For signs meant to last years rather than weeks, read the Foamex, Dibond or Correx guide.

Planning a route

Walk or drive the route with a notepad before ordering street correx printing. Count lamp posts, bollards and junctions. Arrows go at every turn, including the ones that seem obvious to you. Promotional wraps work best where traffic slows down: junctions, crossings, roundabout approaches. Each product can be ordered from 1 to 90, so you can match the count exactly. The formats and live prices are in the size table near the top of the page.

Check who owns the post

Lamp posts, bollards and street furniture belong to someone, usually the local council. Before you cable tie anything to them, check what permission you need. It's much easier to ask first than to explain afterwards.

Artwork for street correx printing

  • People read these from a moving car or across a road. Headline, date or arrow, web address. Done.
  • Bold typeface, strong contrast, no thin script fonts.
  • 3 mm bleed on every edge, and keep words at least 10 mm inside the trim.
  • Supply a PDF with fonts embedded or outlined.
  • Check spellings and web addresses before ordering. Ninety lamp posts with a typo is a lot of lamp posts.

Upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service. A real person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines cover bleed and file types.

Timing and delivery

Street correx printing takes 10 working days to dispatch after your order and artwork are confirmed, whichever turnaround you choose, so plan backwards from your event date and leave room for delivery. Everything is made to order and dispatched from the UK.

UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. Street Correx is exempt from the oversize charge. Street & Event Correx: questions answered

What is the board these street signs are made from?

Correx, a fluted polypropylene sheet, sometimes called corrugated plastic. Being light, rainproof and cheap, it is ideal for outdoor signs that are only up for a while, such as wraps for lamp posts, arrows for an event and election boards. Every sign in this range uses 3.5mm Correx.

What are Correx street signs used for?

Short-lived outdoor jobs. Think a village fete route, a charity walk, advertising on lamp posts, an election campaign, site notices or a house for sale. In this range that means lamp post wraps, bollard covers, venue arrows, signs for fence tops and three-sided triangle signs.

How many can I order for a fun run route?

Between 1 and 90 of each product per order. The product page works out the cost live while you adjust numbers and sizes, so pricing the full route before you commit is easy.

How long do the street Correx signs take?

Ten working days from artwork confirmation until they leave us, whether you pick saver, standard or express, so plan ahead for any event or campaign. Delivery to the mainland is £7.95, or free once the goods reach £100 after discounts, and these signs never pick up the oversize charge.

How do I attach Correx signs to lamp posts and railings?

Cable ties through pre-drilled holes do the job, or a frame if you want no flapping at all. The wraps and bollard covers simply fold round the post or bollard. Before fixing anything to street furniture, get the owner's permission.
