There's the ring on the finger and a party at the in-laws. There's a hen weekend with matching T-shirts. For many families there's a mehndi night with a decorated wall and far too much food, then the ceremony, then the reception, then a car trailing tin cans down the lane. Each one has a spot that needs a banner, and wedding banner printing lets you do one for each, or one that works across several.

What it's made from

All wedding banner printing is on 440gsm PVC: solid, opaque and bright, so names stay crisp and faces look like faces in the photos. You choose hemmed edges or none, plastic or metal eyelets, and cable ties if you need to fix it to a frame, a railing or the stage. Some indoor venues ask you to avoid PVC. If yours does, PVC-free banners use 400gsm PVC-free material instead.

Sizes for wedding banner printing

All 13 stock sizes, with live prices, are in the size table near the top of the page. A few pointers:

• Photo wall or top table: something big, like 6 ft 7 in × 3 ft 3 in (2000 × 1000 mm), 9 ft 10 in × 4 ft 11 in (3000 × 1500 mm) or 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm). Measure the wall and check the ceiling or frame height first.
• Getaway car: a long, thin one such as 4 ft 11 in × 1 ft 8 in (1500 × 500 mm). Tie it through every eyelet and keep it clear of the number plate and lights.
• Venue gate or hall door: 6 ft × 3 ft (1829 × 914 mm) reads easily from the car park.

Two sizes are longer than 3 m, 10 ft × 3 ft (3048 × 914 mm) and 13 ft 1 in × 3 ft 3 in (4000 × 1000 mm), so they pick up the oversize delivery charge.

Wedding banner printing: getting names and photos right

Check the spelling of every name, twice, and get someone else to check too. If you mix English with Urdu, Hindi or Arabic lettering, embed the fonts in a PDF or convert them to outlines so every character comes out right, and check names in both scripts. Use original photo files, around 100 to 150 dpi at full banner size. Keep text 50 mm in from the edges. Matching the flowers or invitations? Timing and delivery

Standard production for wedding banner printing is 4 working days, express from 2 working days and saver 6, counted from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Order a couple of weeks early so there's breathing room for changes. All wedding banner printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10.
