Stamps (stamp printing)

Why stamp printing still makes sense

Some jobs never go fully digital. The post still needs a return address. The bookkeeper still wants invoices marked as paid. The school library still stamps its books, and the café still wants its tenth coffee free. Writing the same thing a hundred times a week is slow and ends up scruffy. One press of a stamp does it in a second and looks the same every time. That is the whole appeal of stamp printing: small tool, lots of saved minutes.

How a self-inking stamp works

Our Self-Inking Company Stamps carry the ink pad inside the body. When you press down, the rubber die flips over onto the paper, then springs back up onto the pad ready for the next go. No separate pad to lose in a drawer, no inky fingers.

Pick a size for your stamp printing

  • 36 × 12 mm rectangle: a word or two, such as PAID, a name or a short reference.
  • 57 × 21 mm rectangle: a company name with a short address.
  • 67 × 28 mm rectangle: a full address plus a phone number or website.
  • 10 mm circle: initials or a tiny mark.
  • 15 mm circle: a small logo, ideal for loyalty cards, gift tags and paper bags.

More room means more lines that stay readable. Cramming an address onto the smallest size just gives you a blur. The size table near the top of the page shows live prices for popular options.

Ink colours and quantities in stamp printing

Choose black, blue or red ink. Black is the safe choice for addresses. Blue helps show a signed document is the original rather than a photocopy. Red shouts, which is exactly what you want for PAID, URGENT or COPY. You can order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 or 20 stamps of the same design, which helps when the office, the van and the stockroom all need one.

Setting up your stamp printing order

No artwork file needed. Type your lines on the product page, choose a layout, and we set your lines exactly as you type them. That means your typos become the stamp's typos, so read the postcode and phone number twice, then ask someone else to read them too.

  • Short lines read better than long ones. Drop the "Ltd" if space is tight and it is not needed.
  • A black-and-white logo can be added. Solid shapes print better than fine detail or shading.
  • Prefer to see it laid out? Use the free online designer.

If you would rather hand it over, our paid artwork service (typesetting from your text, design from a brief, or a logo redraw) includes 1 design and 2 rounds of changes. If you upload a logo file, a real person checks it for free. The artwork guidelines explain how to set one up.

Stamp printing turnaround and delivery

The product page shows its own production days for saver, standard and express, counted in working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Every stamp is made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. See the delivery page.

Goes well with

A stamp is at its best next to paperwork. Mark copies from your invoice books and pads as paid, add your return address to printed envelopes, and hand out business cards that match. If you run a café or a salon, a small round logo stamp plus a pile of plain cards is a loyalty scheme for the price of one order of stamp printing.

Stamps: questions answered

How does a self-inking stamp work?

The ink pad lives inside the stamp. Press down and the rubber flips onto the pad, then onto your paper, so you never need a separate ink pad on the desk.

Is artwork needed for a stamp, or can I just type the words?

Just type them. Enter each line on the product page, choose a layout, and we set the words exactly as written. A simple black and white logo can be added, or you can build the whole stamp in the online designer and finish it there.

What stamp size fits our club's name and address?

A 57 by 21 mm stamp takes a name and a short address. When the address runs longer and you want contact details too, go up to 67 by 28 mm. The smallest, 36 by 12 mm, suits one or two short lines.

Which ink colours can I choose?

Three are offered: black, blue and red. Most people use black for a return address, while red stands out for words like PAID, URGENT or RECEIVED on paperwork.

How soon will my company stamp be ready?

The product page shows the saver, standard and express turnaround in working days until the stamp leaves us, counted from artwork confirmation. Mainland postage is £7.95, or free once goods reach £100 after discounts. Mainland Scottish Highlands add £10, and islands and Northern Ireland are quoted.
