Pavement Signs Printing
Pavement signs printing for the board that goes out at opening time and comes in at close: today's soup outside the café, walk-ins welcome at the barber's, open house at the estate agent's. Choose an A-frame in A2 or A1, or a bigger forecourt sign in A1 or A0 with PVC banner posters. Then decide whether you need the full sign, just the frame, or just new posters.

Three questions before pavement signs printing
How much pavement have I got?
A narrow street with a bus stop and a pram every thirty seconds? A2 (420 × 594 mm) takes up less room and works in a doorway or inside. A wider pavement or a shop set back from the road? A1 (594 × 841 mm) is the classic A-board size and reads from further off. For a garage forecourt, a garden centre or a car park entrance, a forecourt sign in A0 (841 × 1189 mm) says the most.
How often will the message change?
If it's the same logo and opening hours all year, buy the full sign. If it's this week's deal or today's specials, buy a frame once and order replacement posters whenever the offer changes. That way your pavement signs printing only covers the posters, and the board always looks fresh.
Am I allowed to put it out?
Many councils restrict signs on public pavements, so check with yours first. Wherever it stands, leave a clear path for wheelchairs, buggies and anyone with a white stick.
The pavement signs printing range
- A-Frame Pavement Signs: frame plus printed posters, in A2 or A1.
- A1 A-Frame Pavement Signs and A2 A-Frame Pavement Signs if you already know the size.
- A-Frame Pavement Sign Frame Only, with no print.
- A-Frame Replacement Posters for a board you already own.
- Forecourt Pavement Signs in A1 or A0, with posters printed on PVC banner material. Order the frame only, the frame with 2 posters, or posters only, with or without the pavement stand.
Everything is printed in full colour, and you can order 1 to 10 of each item.
Sizes
Pavement signs printing comes in four sizes across the range. A-frames come in A2 and A1. Forecourt signs come in A1 and A0. Prices change with the size and what's included, and the live figures are in the size table near the top of the page.
Designing for someone walking past
- You get about two seconds. One headline, one offer, your name. Done.
- Letters need height: about 25 mm of capital for every 3 metres someone might read it from.
- Set the file at finished poster size and keep text at least 10 mm in from the edge, so the frame doesn't eat it.
- Ordering two posters for one board? Tell us whether both faces carry the same design or two different ones.

Timing and delivery for pavement signs printing
Standard production is 5 working days, express 3 and saver 7, counted from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Everything is made to order and dispatched from the UK.
UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. See the delivery page for the rest.
More for the shop front
Put tables outside? Cafe barriers fence off the seating with your name on. Need something for the window? Posters run from A5 to A0. The whole range lives under posters and pavement signs, and you can get a quote if you're kitting out several shops with pavement signs printing in one go.
Pavement Signs: questions answered
My shop front is narrow. Which A-board should I buy?
With little pavement to spare, A2 keeps clear of the doorway and walkers. Most other shops go for A1, which people can read from further along the street. Garages and big forecourts can step up to the forecourt range, sold in A1 or the larger A0.
I already have an A-board. Can I just buy new posters for it?
Yes, there are refill posters in both A1 and A2, so a new message never means a new frame. Measure the inside of the poster window first to be sure it matches one of the two.
Am I allowed to put a pavement sign outside my shop?
That depends on where it stands. Many councils limit or license A-boards on public pavements, and some do not allow them at all. Ask your local council before you put one out, and always leave enough room for wheelchairs, pushchairs and people using a cane.
What comes with a Forecourt Pavement Sign?
You can choose just the frame, the frame with two posters, or just the posters, in A1 or A0. The posters are printed on PVC banner material. The stand can be included, or left off if you already own one.
How long before my pavement sign is ready?
On standard, allow 5 working days after your artwork is agreed before it leaves us. Express cuts that to 3 and saver takes 7. The same timings cover A-frames, frames on their own, replacement posters and forecourt signs.
