Counter Displays Printing
Counter displays printing for the spots where customers stand and decide: beside the till, on the café table, on the wall behind the bar, in the salon window. Three products do the work. Foamex strut cards stand up on their own, printed menu boards go on the wall, and printed chalk boards mix fixed print with space for today's specials in chalk.

Which one do I need?
Counter displays printing comes down to three products.
- If you want to push one offer at the till, pick a Foamex strut card. It has a strut on the back and stands up without help.
- If your menu stays the same for months, pick a printed menu board for the wall.
- If the specials change every morning, pick a printed chalk board, with your logo and headings printed and space left to chalk the day's soup.
Counter displays printing: the three products up close
Foamex strut cards
A4 or A3, portrait or landscape. Add an optional scratch resistant gloss varnish if the card will be picked up, wiped and knocked about. Order 1 to 100. A4 suits a café table or a narrow counter. A3 is easier to read from the back of a Saturday queue. Landscape for a short offer, portrait for a list.
Printed menu boards
A3, A2, 500 × 700 mm or A1, on 5mm Foamex, 3mm Foamex or 3mm Di-Bond. Options include gloss or matt lamination on one side, corner drilling, print on one or both sides, and profile cutting to a shape. Order 1 to 1000. Foamex is light and fine indoors. Di-Bond is the one for an outdoor menu by the door. Lamination helps if the board gets wiped down after every greasy lunchtime.
Printed chalk boards
1000 × 600 mm. Order a frame only, or a frame with UV print, which adds your artwork such as a logo or fixed headings. Order 1 to 10.
Counter displays printing sizes and live prices
The size table near the top of the page shows current prices for the strut cards in each size and orientation. Menu board and chalk board prices are on their own pages.
Artwork that works at arm's length
People read counter displays printing close up, so small details show. Supply vector artwork, or images at 300 dpi at full size. On a strut card, say one thing: one offer, one price, one next step. On a menu, group dishes under clear headings and leave space between lines, so eyes can scan in the five seconds before the person behind the counter asks "what can I get you?". On a UV printed chalk board, leave clear areas for the handwritten bits. Bleed and safe areas are covered in the artwork guidelines.
Upload a print-ready file, design one in the free online designer, or use our paid artwork service. With counter displays printing, a real person checks every uploaded file for free.
How long, and delivery
Printed menu boards take 3 working days on standard, 2 on express or 5 on saver. Foamex strut cards take 5 working days on standard or 8 on saver. Printed chalk boards take 5 on standard, 3 on express or 7 on saver. Timings start once your order and artwork are confirmed. All counter displays printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK.
UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10; Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. See the delivery page, or get a quote for an unusual size.
Other things for the shop floor
For the sign above the door, try business signs. For a launch night or a private party, event and welcome boards sit on an easel by the entrance. Both pair well with counter displays printing for a full refresh.
Counter & Menu Displays: questions answered
I want a small sign that stands on my shop counter. What is a strut card?
It is a Foamex sign with a fold-out stand fixed behind it, so it props itself up on a counter, a cafe table or a window sill. Choose A4 or A3, upright or wide, and you can add a scratch resistant gloss varnish.
What should our cafe menu board be printed on?
Indoors, Foamex is light and prints crisply for a wall or counter. If the menu stands outside, 3 mm Dibond keeps it flat in the weather. Add gloss or matt lamination if the board gets wiped down a lot.
What do I actually get with a printed chalk board?
The board is 1000 × 600 mm. Frame Only gives you a plain chalk surface. Frame with UV print adds your own printed design, such as your logo and the headings that never change. Leave blank space in the artwork for the specials you want to chalk up each day.
Is there a limit on how many strut cards I can buy?
Each order can include anywhere from one card up to a hundred. That is enough to put the same design on every table in a cafe, beside every till, or in the window of every branch.
