Three questions people ask about Correx
Will it survive outside?
Yes, for the kind of time most temporary signs need. Correx is fluted polypropylene: two thin plastic skins with ribs between them. Rain runs straight off, and it weighs next to nothing, so a cable tie or two holds it to a post, a fence or a railing. If you need a sign to last years on a wall, pick Dibond instead. The Foamex, Dibond or Correx guide compares all three.
3.5mm or 5mm?
For a printed Correx board, 3.5mm handles most jobs. 5mm is stiffer and holds its shape better on the big sizes or in a windy spot, such as an A0 board on a field gate.
Can I print both sides?
Yes. A double sided printed Correx board makes sense on a post by the roadside, read by drivers coming both ways.
The printed Correx board range
- Correx Boards: every size on one page, handy when you are still deciding.
- A1 Correx Boards and A0 Correx Boards for a landlord's board or a site entrance.
- A2, A3 and A4 Correx Boards for arrows, stall signs and notices on railings.
Every printed Correx board can be printed on one side or both, drilled at the top two corners or all four, and profile cut to the outline of your design. Lamination isn't offered on Correx. You can order anything from 1 to 1000 boards.
Sizes
Twelve sizes, from A4 up to A0 and 1000 × 1000 mm, including 500 × 700 mm, 600 × 600 mm, 1000 × 500 mm, 700 × 1000 mm and the 20x30 inch and 30x40 inch poster sizes. Live prices are in the size table near the top of the page.
Quick steer: A3 and A2 for arrows and notices at walking pace. A1 and A0 for a to-let board or a site gate. 1000 × 500 mm is a good long shape for a club name above a gate, and 1000 × 1000 mm gives an event name room to breathe.
Artwork and fixing
A printed Correx board is often read from a moving car, so keep the message short and bold: what, where, which way. Add 3 mm bleed and keep text at least 10 mm inside the trim. If you order drilled corners, leave those corners clear so a hole doesn't punch through a word. Fix with cable ties through the holes, top and bottom, so the board doesn't flap and crease in the wind. File types and colour tips are in the artwork guidelines.
Upload a print-ready file, make one in the free online designer, or use our paid artwork service. With every printed Correx board order, a real person checks each uploaded file for free.

Correx Boards: questions answered
What exactly is Correx?
It is a plastic board made from polypropylene with a fluted core: two thin sheets held apart by little ribs, a bit like corrugated card but waterproof. It is light, cheap and weatherproof, which is why so many signs that live outside for weeks or months are printed on it.
What do people use Correx signs for?
Estate agent and letting boards, building site notices, event arrows, election and campaign signs, school fete and club notices, and short promotions. If your sign has to survive outside for several years rather than a season, Dibond will serve you better.
Is 3.5 mm Correx thick enough, or should I pay for 5 mm?
For most signs 3.5 mm is plenty and keeps the weight down. The 5 mm board is stiffer, so it stays straighter on bigger sizes, from A1 and A0 up to the metre square board, particularly when you only fix it at the corners.
What is the best way to put a Correx sign on railings?
Order the board with corner holes, then use cable ties through each hole onto railings, posts or a fence. A frame works too. Pull every tie tight, because a loose board flaps in the wind and can crease.
