Printed Roller Banners

Printed roller banners are 2000 mm tall signs that roll down into their own base and pull up in seconds, for the reception desk, the trade show, the church hall talk and the estate agent's open house. Pick a width from 800 to 1500 mm, then the print: 440gsm banner vinyl for most rooms, or 610gsm blockout PVC when there's a window or spotlight behind. Budget, premium and blockout versions narrow the choice.

How printed roller banners earn their keep

It lives in a long bag in the boot. You unzip it, pull the banner up, clip it to the pole and walk away. Twenty minutes later you've got a logo, a headline and a web address standing next to your table at the wedding fair. At the end of the day it rolls back down into the base. That is the entire appeal of printed roller banners: a proper sign that one person can carry.

Three questions, three answers

How often will I use it?

Once or twice a year, at the school fete or an annual conference? Budget Roller Banners, on 440gsm banner vinyl in 800 or 850 mm, will do nicely. Every week, in and out of the car? Premium Roller Banners in 850 mm on 610gsm blockout PVC are built for that life.

Is there a window behind it?

Stand a thin banner in front of bright glass or a spotlight and the light shines through, turning your artwork into a ghostly mess. 610gsm blockout PVC has a grey layer inside that stops it. Blockout Roller Banners come in every width.

How wide?

All our printed roller banners are 2000 mm tall. The width is the choice, and the all-in-one Roller Banners page lets you flip between them.

Printed roller banners by width

  • 800 × 2000 mm: the slimmest, for a gap beside a counter or a small stand. See the 800 mm roller banner.
  • 850 × 2000 mm: the usual starting point for receptions, shop floors and trade stands.
  • 1000 × 2000 mm: a bit more space for a photo or a short list of services.
  • 1200 × 2000 mm and 1500 × 2000 mm: wide enough to work as a backdrop behind a speaker or a photo spot. See the 1500 mm roller banner.

The size table near the top of the page lists all five widths with live prices. Stand options vary by width, so check the configurator on each product page.

Designing a roller banner that works

Split the banner into three bands. The top third is your logo and a headline of a few words, readable from across a room. The middle carries a photo, three bullet points or your contact details. The bottom 150 to 200 mm often disappears behind the base, a table or someone's legs, so keep it for background colour only. Set the file at full size, for example 850 × 2000 mm, with images around 150 dpi at that size, and send a PDF with fonts embedded. That's how printed roller banners stay sharp when someone walks right up to them.

Upload a print-ready file, design one in the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service. A real person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines have the detail.

Timing and delivery

800 and 850 mm printed roller banners take 4 working days on standard, from 2 on express and 6 on saver. The 1000, 1200 and 1500 mm widths take 6 working days standard, from 4 on express and 8 on saver. All times run from when your order and artwork are confirmed, and everything is made to order and dispatched from the UK.

The stands travel in long boxes, so make sure someone's around to take the parcel. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. See the delivery page.

Roller Banners: questions answered

How tall and how wide are roller banners?

Every one is 2000 mm tall. Widths start at 800 mm and go up through 850, 1000 and 1200 to 1500 mm. The two narrowest are the everyday standard, while the widest give more of a backdrop look on stages and larger stands.

Our banner will stand with a sunny window behind it. Does that matter?

It can. Daylight or a spotlight behind an ordinary banner shows through and makes the print look washed out. Blockout versions use 610gsm blockout PVC, which hides a grey layer in the middle that stops the light. Choose one whenever glass or strong lights sit behind the stand.

Where on a roller banner should our logo and wording go?

High up. The upper half sits at eye level, so that is where the logo and headline belong. The lowest 150 to 200 mm often disappears behind the base, a chair or a table, so leave it free of words. Your web address can go in the middle band.

How quickly could I have a roller banner for our open day?

For the two narrow widths, 800 and 850 mm, express means 2 working days before it leaves us and standard means 4, counted from artwork confirmation. Anything wider needs 4 days on express or 6 on standard. You will see the delivery choices at checkout.
