Banner Stand Printing

Banner stand printing for roller banners: a 2000 mm tall printed graphic that lives rolled up in a base cassette, pulls up onto a pole at a trade show, reception or school open evening, and rolls away again after. Widths run from 800 mm to 1500 mm. The two choices that matter are the cassette (Budget, Standard Plus or Premium) and the print (bright 440gsm banner vinyl or 610gsm blockout PVC).

Roller Banners & Stands (banner stand printing)

A sign that fits in the boot

Picture the car park at a wedding fair. Someone's carrying a long, thin bag in one hand and a coffee in the other. Five minutes later there's a two-metre sign behind their table with their logo at eye height. That's the appeal of a roller banner: it packs into its own base, stands on its own, and gives a small business the same presence as the big stand opposite. Banner stand printing also suits permanent spots, like a reception, a surgery waiting room or next to a shop counter.

Banner stand printing: two decisions

The cassette: how often will it move?

  • Budget: a one-off event, or a banner that stays put in one place.
  • Standard Plus: regular events and reception use.
  • Premium: set up and packed away week in, week out. The Premium Roller Banners page is built around it.

Not every width has every cassette: the 800 mm stand comes in Budget or Standard Plus, and the 850 mm stand offers all three.

The print: what's behind it?

440gsm banner vinyl gives bright, sharp colour and suits most rooms. 610gsm blockout PVC has a grey layer inside that stops light glowing through. If the banner will stand in front of a window, a glass wall or a spotlight, pick Blockout Roller Banners, or your design will look like a ghost with the sun behind it.

Widths for banner stand printing

Every stand is 2000 mm tall. Widths are 800, 850, 1000, 1200 and 1500 mm, with live prices for each in the size table near the top of the page. The 800 mm is the one for a narrow gap, a shop counter or a tiny stand at a craft fair. 850 mm is the all-rounder and easy to carry. 1200 mm or 1500 mm gives real presence behind a speaker at a conference or across the back of a stand. You can go straight to a width, such as the 850 × 2000 mm roller banner, or compare them all on Roller Banners. The cheaper route is Budget Roller Banners in 800 or 850 mm on 440gsm vinyl.

Banner stand printing artwork for a tall, thin space

  • Work at full size, for example 850 x 2000 mm, with photos around 150 dpi at that size.
  • Logo and headline in the top half. That's eye level when people are standing.
  • Leave the bottom 150 to 200 mm free of words. The base, a table or a box of leaflets will hide it.
  • Contact details and a web address sit well in the middle.
  • Don't cram. A roller banner is read in the time it takes to walk past.

Upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service. A real person checks every uploaded file for free. See the artwork guidelines and the roller banner buying guide.

Roller Banners & Stands: questions answered

Budget, Standard Plus or Premium: which roller stand should our charity buy?

Think about how often it will travel. Budget is light and fine for the odd event or a banner that lives in one reception. Standard Plus is sturdier for monthly fairs and busy foyers. Premium is built for being put up and packed away week after week, like a regular round of trade shows.

Will my pull up banner arrive in a bag?

That varies from stand to stand. If a carry bag matters to you, send us a message through the Contact page before you order and we will confirm exactly what comes in the box with the stand you have chosen.

How fiddly is a pull up banner to put up?

Not at all. You lift the print out of the base, hook it onto the pole, and it is up in less than a minute. Packing away is the same in reverse, as it rolls back into the base. Perfect for a school open evening or a pop-in stall where you are in and out within a few hours.

Can pull up banners work at a trade show?

Very well. They are one of the easiest ways to dress a stand. Put two or three side by side, or use one of the wide 1200 or 1500 mm versions for a backdrop feel. For a bigger presence, look at our backdrops, pop up stands and fabric walls too.
