Overview

A correx board has one job: get noticed. A1 board printing here is full colour, edge to edge, made to order.

Sizes

Sizing A1 board printing: it comes in one size, A1. A-sizes make choosing easy: A3 for a gate or a door, A2 and A1 for a fence or a post, A0 for a roadside.

A1 board printing: what it is made of

It comes on 3.5mm Correx (light, waterproof fluted board) or 5mm Correx (stiffer for bigger boards). 3.5mm Correx is light, waterproof and cheap to replace; 5mm is stiffer and stays flatter at larger sizes. On top of that you can pick printing on one side or both, gloss (one side), none or matt (one side), drilled holes for screwing it up and cutting to shape.

Correx is fluted, so cable ties go straight through the flutes onto a post or fence. It is waterproof but not forever: think months, not years.

Good jobs for it

Made for temporary outdoor signs, estate agent boards and site signs. Car boot sales, fetes and school fairs use them to point the way. Landlords use them for "to let" boards and notices.

From file to doorstep

Upload your own file, lay it out in the online designer, or hand it to our paid artwork service, which includes 1 design and 2 rounds of changes. A person gives every file a free check first. Standard production is 3 working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Express gets it done from 2 working days. Saver takes 5 and is there if you are not in a rush. Your A1 board printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK.

Put up outdoors, a banner, board or flag counts as an advertisement under the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007. Most small ones need no application, but the council can tell you if yours does.

Postage is £7.95 to the UK mainland and free over £100, worked out after discounts and not counting artwork fees. Mainland Highlands postcodes add £10; Northern Ireland, the islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. Full details are on the delivery page.

Questions

Quick answers about a1 board printing.

How fast can I have my A1 Correx board order?

Express gets it out in 2 working days, Standard ships after 3 working days and Saver, the lowest price, after 5 working days. Courier delivery follows in 1 to 3 working days. Goods worth £100 or more travel free to a UK mainland address; below that, delivery is a flat £7.95 for the whole order.

Is anything added to the price of my A1 Correx board order at checkout?

Only delivery, where it applies. The figure on the page is the one you pay at checkout. The £42.91 starting price for your A1 Correx board order is the full price of the goods.

Which material is used for the A1 Correx boards?

Full colour print on 3.5mm Correx or 5mm Correx. Prices start at £42.91. If you are after a different material, message us from the Contact page.

Which options does this Correx board have?

The A1 (594 × 841 mm) size, material (3.5mm Correx or 5mm Correx), sides printed (single sided or double sided), lamination (gloss one side, none or matt one side), drilling (all corners, no or top corners) and profile cut (no or yes). Every combination is priced on this page, from £42.91.

How do I find out what my Correx board will cost?

Choose the options on this page and the total updates straight away. It opens on the cheapest combination, £42.91. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout.

What happens after I order?

FatPrint receives it, a person checks your file, then your A1 Correx board is made to order and handed to the courier. You get tracking by email the day it ships. Questions along the way? The question box on this page reaches a person.

Asked by buyers

How much will A1 Correx Boards set me back?

£42.91 is where A1 Correx Boards start, set up as 3.5mm Correx, A1 · 594 × 841 mm and single Sided on the Saver speed. Change the size, material, extras, quantity or speed and the total on the page moves straight away. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted).

Is delivery ever free?

It is £7.95 for the whole order, not per item, and free once the goods reach £100 after any discount code; design or artwork charges are left out of that £100. On its own the opening price of £42.91 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A mainland Highlands postcode puts a single £10 on the order. Northern Ireland has its delivery priced before you pay, and so do the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man.

If I buy A1 Correx Boards today, when will they leave you?

As the page first opens, the speeds for A1 Correx Boards are Express 2 working days, Standard 3 and Saver 5, counting Monday to Friday and skipping bank holidays. The count begins once we have your order and a file ready to print. A bigger size or a different material can move it by a day either way; each speed shows its own days as you choose. Tracking arrives by email on the day it ships, and the courier usually takes one to three working days from there.

I cannot design at all. Can someone make the artwork for me?

Yes. When you choose the Artwork option you can pick from: send your own finished file (no charge), we set your words and logo on a tidy layout, called typesetting (£15), we design it from your brief (£35), we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30) or we create a brand new logo (£50). Each fee is fixed, sits as its own line in your basket and covers every item on that line. Typesetting and design from a brief each come with one first draft and two rounds of changes. Prefer to do it yourself? The online designer is free to use. Material choices for A1 Correx Boards: 3.5mm Correx or 5mm Correx.

Could I lay out these Correx boards myself on your website?

Yes. Start the designer from this page, choose a layout to begin with, then drop in your text, logo and photos and drag them where you want. It checks as you go and warns you about leftover sample text, lettering that is too small, anything outside the safe area and images too low in resolution, all before you finish. Designing and previewing costs nothing. The watermark you see on screen is never printed; once you finish, it goes into the basket. Make the artwork for these Correx boards the same size as the one you order, such as A1 (594 × 841 mm).

What exactly is Correx board?

Correx is fluted polypropylene: two thin, flat plastic sheets held apart by small ribs, a bit like plastic cardboard. That makes it light, surprisingly stiff for its weight and fully waterproof. Board choices for A1 Correx Boards: 3.5mm or 5mm Correx. It is the everyday board for short-term outdoor signs, from fete arrows and For Sale boards to election posters and site notices.

What are the measurements of A1 Correx Boards?

It measures A1 (594 × 841 mm) and costs from £42.91. If that is not quite right for your space, the A2 Correx Boards or the A3 Correx Boards may fit better. Spend £100 on goods and mainland delivery is free; below that it is £7.95. Other settings on the page, such as quantity, adjust the total as you go.

How do people usually fix up these Correx boards?

Tick holes drilled in all corners or top corners when ordering A1 Correx Boards and they arrive ready, so all you add is screws or cable ties. Correx usually goes onto a fence with cable ties, or onto stakes; a tie threaded through the flutes grips well. For smooth indoor walls you would rather not drill, foam tape or adhesive pads do the job.

Is there a minimum quantity for these Correx boards?

The smallest order is 1 and the largest listed is 1000; the list starts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and carries on from there. The price on the page covers every item in that quantity. To compare two quantities fairly, split each total by its number. A bigger run than the list allows can be priced separately on our Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each Correx board is made to order for you. For reference, these Correx boards measure A1 (594 × 841 mm).

Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?

The only thing that can join the goods price is delivery; the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted). If you pick a paid design option, it sits in the basket as a separate line with its own fee, so every penny is listed before you pay. Before delivery, these Correx boards cost from £42.91.

Can a private person buy a single Correx board?

Yes. One is enough, and you do not need a business name or an account to check out. The opening price is £42.91, and any bank card will do. On its own the opening price of £42.91 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A person still checks your file before it is printed, just as for a big order.

I live in the Scottish Highlands. Will A1 Correx Boards cost more to send?

The whole UK is covered. Outside it, sadly, we cannot deliver. Mainland addresses in the Highlands pay one extra £10 on the order, even when delivery would otherwise be free. For Northern Ireland, and for the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man, we tell you the delivery cost before you pay, so message us your postcode on the Contact page or our Get a quote page. Choose Saver and these Correx boards leave us after 5 working days; Express brings that down to 2. Before delivery, these Correx boards cost from £42.91.

Is there a quicker turnaround for these Correx boards?

Work back from the day you need them. Express takes 2 working days to get A1 Correx Boards out, against 5 on Saver, and costs £57.21 on the opening option rather than £42.91. Add up to three working days for the courier, plus any time you need to finish the file. Cutting it fine? Put your date in the question box before you order.

I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?

You will not be left guessing. Each uploaded file is opened and looked over by a member of the team, and problems such as low-resolution pictures, no bleed or the wrong page size are sent back to you to fix before printing. If fixing it sounds like a chore, choose typesetting for £15: we lay out your text and logo, show you a first draft, then make up to two rounds of changes. Make the artwork for these Correx boards the same size as the one you order, such as A1 (594 × 841 mm).

How many pixels does a photo need to print well on these Correx boards?

Roughly 7,016 pixels across and 9,933 down for an A1 (594 × 841 mm) design, which is 300 dpi. Things read at arm's length need that 300 dpi at full size to stay crisp. Text and logos are safest as vector art, which never goes fuzzy. Pictures saved from a website or social media are nearly always too small, and our file check will point out any that could print blurred.

Which file formats can I upload?

A PDF made at the size you ordered works best, with the fonts embedded or turned into outlines. AI, EPS and SVG are fine too, as are high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF images. Word, PowerPoint or Canva designs can be used, but save them out as a full quality PDF where you can. Attach up to 3 files of up to 25 MB each on the product page, or order first and send them afterwards; we email you a link. If you have no file, you can build the design for these Correx boards in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Our wording is not finished yet. Can I still pay now and send it later?

Yes. Pay now and add the file afterwards: uploading after ordering is allowed, so you do not have to wait for the final version. If a volunteer, friend or designer is preparing it, they can send the finished file to you to upload, or get in touch through our Contact page quoting your order number. Nothing goes to print until the file arrives and has been checked, so if there is a date to hit, get the artwork over as soon as you can. For reference, these Correx boards measure A1 (594 × 841 mm).

Will anyone look at my file before it is printed?

Every file gets a human check for size, bleed and resolution, and we contact you about any problem before printing. With the online designer, what you see on screen is what gets printed. Nobody can know your details better than you, so double-check names, numbers and dates: we print what is supplied, and work begins once the order and file are confirmed. If you have no file, you can build the design for these Correx boards in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Once I finish designing these Correx boards online, is the file mine to keep?

Yes. Order printing with an online design and a full resolution PDF comes with it; after payment you can download it from your confirmation email or from My Account. Just want the file? Finish the design and buy the print-ready PDF on its own for £9.99. As digital content, it cannot be cancelled once the download begins. Make the artwork for these Correx boards the same size as the one you order, such as A1 (594 × 841 mm).

How do I pick the right profile cut for A1 Correx Boards?

The profile cut option has 2 settings: yes or no. A profile cut follows the edge of your artwork, so the board ends up shaped like your design rather than a plain oblong. Put a cut line in your file, or tell us and we will add one. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. For these Correx boards, the material can be 5mm Correx or 3.5mm Correx. For reference, these Correx boards measure A1 (594 × 841 mm).

Can you explain the material setting for A1 Correx Boards?

The material option has 2 settings: 5mm Correx or 3.5mm Correx. It is what your design gets printed onto. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. Still torn between two? Type the question into the box on this page and a person will reply.

Does the lamination option I choose make a difference to A1 Correx Boards?

A laminate is a very thin clear layer sealed over the print. Gloss gives richer, punchier colour; matt takes the shine away so photos and text are easier to read under lights; soft touch feels smooth, almost like velvet. Whichever you pick, the surface copes better with scuffs. For A1 Correx Boards the list runs matt (One Side), none or gloss (One Side). Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.

Can these Correx boards have print on the front and the back?

Yes: set Sides Printed to double sided when ordering A1 Correx Boards. That is worth it wherever people pass on both sides, for example a board on a school gate facing the road and the playground, or a sign on a stake at a car boot sale. Put the front and back as two pages in one file, and let us know if both sides should match.

Which sides printed would you suggest for A1 Correx Boards?

One side means the design appears on the front only. Two sides puts print on both faces, handy when people approach from either direction, for example a flag on a pole or a sign that faces two ways. For A1 Correx Boards the list runs double Sided or single Sided. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.

Would A1 Correx Boards be useful for landlords and letting agents?

Yes: A1 Correx Boards sit in our Landlords & Letting Agents section, next to other things landlords and letting agents buy for lets, rental homes and shared buildings. Prices begin at £42.91. The size is A1 (594 × 841 mm). The material choices are 5mm Correx or 3.5mm Correx. Also in that section: Business Cards and Fire Door Inspection Labels. One basket can hold the lot, and delivery is free once the goods reach £100.

Could we put these Correx boards up on a building site or around works?

Yes. Correx is light, waterproof and inexpensive, so it is what most temporary site signs are made from. Secure every eyelet or hole with a cable tie and look it over after a gusty spell. You will also find these Correx boards in our Landlords & Letting Agents and Builders & Construction sections. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each Correx board is made to order for you.

Do builders and contractors buy A1 Correx Boards from you?

For sites, extensions and renovations, look under Builders & Construction in the shop: A1 Correx Boards are listed there. Prices begin at £42.91; the size is A1 (594 × 841 mm); the material choices are 5mm Correx or 3.5mm Correx. People buying for that kind of work often add Site Safety Notice Sign or Pedestrians Must Use This Route Site Banner. Put everything in one order and delivery is free at £100 or more.

Could our allotment society put these Correx boards up by the gate?

Gardens are outdoor, muddy and sunny, so with A1 Correx Boards the board matters more than the design. Correx suits event days and short-term notices. Face a long-term sign away from full sun if you can, as all print fades slowly.

How many weeks will these Correx boards stay looking good outdoors?

Plan on A1 Correx Boards lasting for weeks or months, not years. Rain does the board no harm, as it cannot rot or absorb water; sunshine and handling are what slowly wear the print. If you want a sign to stay up permanently outdoors, Dibond lasts far longer.

How do Correx boards go up on railings, or on a stake in the grass?

Ask for drilled holes when ordering A1 Correx Boards, then loop cable ties through them and round the railings. For a lawn or verge, slide a cane or stake into one of the flutes at the lower edge and knock it into the ground. Secure the top and the bottom, two ties each, so the board cannot flap about in a breeze.

Drilling on A1 Correx Boards: how do the choices differ?

The drilling option has 3 settings: top corners, no or all corners. With drilling, the corners arrive with holes already made, so the board can go straight up with screws or cable ties and you never need to get the drill out. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. For these Correx boards, the material can be 5mm Correx or 3.5mm Correx. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each Correx board is made to order for you.

Should I get A1 Correx Boards, or would A2 Correx Boards suit me better?

Comparing A1 Correx Boards with A2 Correx Boards, this is what changes. Sizes: only A1 (594 × 841 mm) on this page, and only A2 (420 × 594 mm) on the other. Opening price: £42.91 on this page and £31.51 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

How would I decide between A4 Correx Boards and A1 Correx Boards?

Comparing A1 Correx Boards with A4 Correx Boards, this is what changes. Sizes: only A1 (594 × 841 mm) on this page, and only A4 (210 × 297 mm) on the other. Opening price: £42.91 on this page and £19.84 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

Where do A1 Correx Boards and A3 Correx Boards differ?

Comparing A1 Correx Boards with A3 Correx Boards, this is what changes. Sizes: only A1 (594 × 841 mm) on this page, and only A3 (297 × 420 mm) on the other. Opening price: £42.91 on this page and £25.97 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

We need a few different designs. Do they each need their own order?

One checkout covers the lot. Add a basket line for every design, attach the right file to each, then pay once. You pay a single delivery charge of £7.95 for the whole order, or nothing if the goods add up to £100 or more. Repeating one design on another line? Choose the artwork choice that points to a file already in the basket, and no second design fee is charged. Before delivery, these Correx boards cost from £42.91.

Next year we will want the same Correx board again. Is reordering easy?

Yes. Treat it as a fresh order of the same item with the same settings, and attach the file you used last time. For online designs, the print-ready PDF from the original paid order is waiting in My Account and your confirmation email. Change any details that have moved on, such as a new email address or this year's date, before uploading. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each Correx board is made to order for you.

Do I have to register before I can buy?

No. Guest checkout is fine, and card payments go through Stripe, so a debit card or a credit card both work. If you choose to open an account while checking out, My Account keeps your past orders and the print files of anything you designed online. Guest or not, you get an email confirming the order and another with tracking once it is sent. Before delivery, these Correx boards cost from £42.91.

Can I design these Correx boards first and show the committee before we pay?

Yes. The online designer is free to use, so you can build the design, look at it on screen and share it round before anyone commits. The preview carries a watermark on screen only; it never appears on the printed item. When everyone is happy, finish the design and order. What you see is what gets printed, so check names, dates and numbers together first. Make the artwork for these Correx boards the same size as the one you order, such as A1 (594 × 841 mm).

Can I cut these Correx boards down to size, or drill fixing holes, at home?

Foamex and Correx cut cleanly with a sharp craft knife run along a metal rule: score it a few times, then cut or snap along the line. Holes for screws or ties can be made with a normal drill bit at low speed; keep each hole 10 mm or more in from the edge. Trimming eats into the bleed area, so leave room in the design if you plan to trim anything off. For these Correx boards, the material can be 5mm Correx or 3.5mm Correx.

What is the safest way to clean these Correx boards?

For A1 Correx Boards, warm water with a drop of washing-up liquid and a soft cloth, then rinse and dry. Avoid solvents, scouring pads and harsh cleaning products, as they can dull the print or lift it. Keep any spare boards lying flat to stop them bowing.
