Printed Crest Flags

Printed crest flags have a wide, squared-off top, so a long logo or a club badge sits up high where people can see it over parked cars and crowds. Pick a height (2.6 m, 4 m or 4.9 m), print on one side or both, then choose a base that suits the ground, from a spike for the football pitch to a drive-on base for the forecourt.

Is a crest the right shape for you?

Flags come in a few silhouettes. Feather and teardrop flags narrow as they go up, which is fine for a tall word but squeezes a wide logo. A crest flag keeps its width right to the top, so a badge, a shop name or a landscape logo gets the prime spot. If your logo is wider than it is tall, a crest is usually the better fit. If your message is one tall word, have a look at feather flags or teardrop flags too.

Printed crest flags: which height?

  • 2.6 m: a shop front, a market stall, a school fete or a club gazebo. Order it from Crest Flags, which also lists the other heights.
  • 4 m: the Crest Flag 4m for forecourts and outdoor events where people see it from further back.
  • 4.9 m: the Crest Flag 4.9m for big forecourts, sports grounds and events where the flag has to clear the crowd.

All printed crest flags are full colour, and you can order anything from 1 to 99.

Printed crest flags: sizes and prices

Prices for each height are in the size table near the top of the page, before you add a base or double sided print.

Getting the base right

With printed crest flags, the base matters as much as the print. A flag that leans or topples looks worse than no flag at all.

  • On grass: a ground spike. The 2.6 m size offers a standard or budget spike.
  • On paving or tarmac: a water base or a concrete base. On the 2.6 m flag you can choose small or large cross bases, a small square base, or small and large water bases.
  • On a forecourt: a drive-on car base, which sits under a parked wheel.
  • Already got one: choose no base.

The 4 m and 4.9 m flags come with a standard ground spike, large cross, large water, concrete or drive-on base, or none. Spare bases and spikes live under flag accessories.

Artwork for a flag that moves

Printed crest flags flap, twist and catch the light, so treat them differently from a flat sign. Put your logo in the wide top panel, the bit people see first. Keep anything important away from the pole sleeve edge. Use strong contrast, dark on light or light on dark, so the flag still reads mid-flutter. Keep words few and big.

One gotcha: a single sided flag shows a mirror image on the back. If the reverse has to read the right way round, for example on a forecourt passed from both directions, order double sided.

You can upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service. For printed crest flags, a real person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines have the set-up details.

Crest Flags: questions answered

How is a crest flag different from the other flags?

It has a broad, flat panel across the top instead of tapering to a point like feather and teardrop flags. That extra width is handy for wide logos, club badges and business names that people should spot from the far side of a car park.

How tall are the crest flags?

Pick from three heights. The shortest, at 2.6 m, works outside a shop or at a smaller event. The two taller options, 4 m and 4.9 m, are for big forecourts, sports days and outdoor shows.

What bases work with the tallest crest flag?

At 4.9 m the choice is a standard ground spike, a large cross base, a large water base, a concrete base or a drive-on car base. If a suitable base is already sitting in your store room, choose no base and save the cost.

Will people see our badge the right way round from both sides?

Only if you order double sided print. With one printed face, the back shows the design reversed, like looking through a window. Double sided print makes it read correctly from either direction.
