Overview
A café menu has a hard life. It gets passed round, leaned on, splashed and stacked by the till. Paper gives up in days. A laminated, folded menu keeps going for months and cleans up with a damp cloth.
Laminated leaflet printing for places that get busy
Takeaways use them as counter menus. Salons use them for treatment price lists. Holiday lets and B&Bs use them as room guides with the Wi-Fi code, check-out time and local tips. Garages use them for service price lists on the waiting room table. Anything that is read by lots of hands suits this.
Getting the fold right
Start with the flat sheet: A4 (210 × 297 mm) or A3 (297 × 420 mm). Then choose the fold:
- Half fold, 4 pages. An A4 sheet folds to 148 × 210 mm; an A3 sheet folds to 210 × 297 mm, a big, easy-to-read menu.
- Roll fold, 6 pages. An A4 sheet closes to 100 × 210 mm, the takeaway classic.
- Z fold, 6 pages. Opens out in one go, handy for a price list read top to bottom.
- Gate fold, 6 pages. Two flaps open to reveal a centre spread.
Stock and lamination
250gsm gloss or silk is flexible enough for a roll-fold menu. 350gsm silk card is the stiffest and feels solid in the hand, great for a large half-fold menu. Lamination covers both sides: matt cuts glare under bright lights; gloss makes food photos look richer.
Artwork, timing and delivery
Send the flat sheet as a print-ready PDF with 3 mm bleed and the panels in the right order; we check the file matches your fold. The free online designer and paid artwork service are there too. See the artwork guidelines for panel layouts.
Laminated leaflet printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK. Express is from 4 working days, Standard from 6 and Saver from 8, once your order and artwork are confirmed. Quantities are 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000 or 2,000. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts; see delivery. Unlaminated folds are in flyers and leaflets.

Questions
Quick answers about laminated leaflet printing.
What is the turnaround on my laminated folded leaflet order?
Pick Saver (8 working days), Standard (6 working days) or Express (4 working days); that is the time before it leaves us. The clock starts once your order is placed and the file is confirmed. Postage to the UK mainland is £7.95 per basket, not per item, and free when your goods total £100 or more. Highlands mainland addresses add £10; Northern Ireland and the islands are quoted first.
What file do you need for a laminated folded leaflet?
A single PDF, ready to print, showing the sheet opened out with 3 mm of bleed, and each panel sitting where your fold needs it. We check the file against the fold you picked before it is printed.
Does a person look at my laminated folded leaflet artwork?
Yes. Before your laminated folded leaflet goes to print, someone checks resolution, size and bleed, and that the layout matches the fold you picked. Paid help is there too: a clean layout from your text and logo (£15), a design from your brief (£35) or a logo redraw (£30), each with one first draft and two rounds of changes.
Our pub menus get sticky fingers on them. Can these be wiped down?
Yes. Both sides carry a matt or gloss laminate, so a damp cloth takes off spills and fingerprints. That is why they work so well as menus and price lists.
Is matt or gloss lamination better for a restaurant menu?
Matt has a flat finish without glare, which is easier to read under bright lights. Gloss is shiny and makes food photos look vivid and rich.
If I fold an A3 menu, what size does it end up?
A4. Fold an A3 sheet in half and you get a 4-page menu that closes to A4. Choose the gate fold instead and it closes to exactly the same size, but you get 6 pages.
Which card should I pick for laminated folded menus?
For menus picked up all day long, the stiffer 350gsm silk card lasts best. The 250gsm gloss and silk options are lighter and fold very tidily.
Asked by buyers
How much will Laminated Folded Leaflets set me back?
£72.06 is where Laminated Folded Leaflets start, set up as A4 · 210 × 297 mm, half fold, 4 pages, folds to 148 × 210 mm and 350gsm silk card on the Saver speed. Change the size, material, extras, quantity or speed and the total on the page moves straight away. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted).
If I buy Laminated Folded Leaflets today, when will they leave you?
As the page first opens, the speeds for Laminated Folded Leaflets are Express 4 working days, Standard 6 and Saver 8, counting Monday to Friday and skipping bank holidays. The count begins once we have your order and a file ready to print. A bigger size or a different material can move it by a day either way; each speed shows its own days as you choose. Tracking arrives by email on the day it ships, and the courier usually takes one to three working days from there.
Is delivery ever free?
It is £7.95 for the whole order, not per item, and free once the goods reach £100 after any discount code; design or artwork charges are left out of that £100. On its own the opening price of £72.06 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A mainland Highlands postcode puts a single £10 on the order. Northern Ireland has its delivery priced before you pay, and so do the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man.
I cannot design at all. Can someone make the artwork for me?
Yes. When you choose the Artwork option you can pick from: send your own finished file (no charge), we set your words and logo on a tidy layout, called typesetting (£15), we design it from your brief (£35), we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30) or we create a brand new logo (£50). Each fee is fixed, sits as its own line in your basket and covers every item on that line. Typesetting and design from a brief each come with one first draft and two rounds of changes. Prefer to do it yourself? The online designer is free to use. Material choices for Laminated Folded Leaflets: 250gsm silk, 350gsm silk card or 250gsm gloss.
Could I lay out these flyers myself on your website?
Yes. Start the designer from this page, choose a layout to begin with, then drop in your text, logo and photos and drag them where you want. It checks as you go and warns you about leftover sample text, lettering that is too small, anything outside the safe area and images too low in resolution, all before you finish. Designing and previewing costs nothing. The watermark you see on screen is never printed; once you finish, it goes into the basket. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A4 (210 × 297 mm).
Thin or thick: what paper weight suits these flyers?
Weights here run from 250gsm to 350gsm. 250gsm or heavier starts to feel like card, which suits menus, price lists and anything left standing on a counter. For these flyers, the material can be 250gsm gloss, 350gsm silk card or 250gsm silk.
I am never sure how many to print. How many flyers is sensible?
Print what you will get through before anything on it goes stale, such as a phone number, a price or an offer. You can order anything between 50 and 2,000. Try two or three amounts on this page and work out the cost per flyer. Testing a new design? A smaller first batch lets you see how it goes before a bigger run. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.
And the largest flyer, A3 (297 × 420 mm): how much is that one?
From £90.50 for 50, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £72.06.
Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?
The only thing that can join the goods price is delivery; the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted). If you pick a paid design option, it sits in the basket as a separate line with its own fee, so every penny is listed before you pay. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £72.06.
Is there a minimum quantity for these flyers?
The smallest order is 50 and the largest listed is 2000; the list starts 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000. The price on the page covers every item in that quantity. To compare two quantities fairly, split each total by its number. A bigger run than the list allows can be priced separately on our Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.
Is there a quicker turnaround for these flyers?
Work back from the day you need them. Express takes 4 working days to get Laminated Folded Leaflets out, against 8 on Saver, and costs £83.45 on the opening option rather than £72.06. Add up to three working days for the courier, plus any time you need to finish the file. Cutting it fine? Put your date in the question box before you order.
I live in the Scottish Highlands. Will Laminated Folded Leaflets cost more to send?
The whole UK is covered. Outside it, sadly, we cannot deliver. Mainland addresses in the Highlands pay one extra £10 on the order, even when delivery would otherwise be free. For Northern Ireland, and for the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man, we tell you the delivery cost before you pay, so message us your postcode on the Contact page or our Get a quote page. Choose Saver and these flyers leave us after 8 working days; Express brings that down to 4.
Our wording is not finished yet. Can I still pay now and send it later?
Yes. Pay now and add the file afterwards: uploading after ordering is allowed, so you do not have to wait for the final version. If a volunteer, friend or designer is preparing it, they can send the finished file to you to upload, or get in touch through our Contact page quoting your order number. Nothing goes to print until the file arrives and has been checked, so if there is a date to hit, get the artwork over as soon as you can. If you have no file, you can build the design for these flyers in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.
How many pixels does a photo need to print well on these flyers?
Roughly 3,508 pixels across and 4,961 down for an A3 (297 × 420 mm) design, which is 300 dpi. Things read at arm's length need that 300 dpi at full size to stay crisp. Text and logos are safest as vector art, which never goes fuzzy. Pictures saved from a website or social media are nearly always too small, and our file check will point out any that could print blurred.
I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?
You will not be left guessing. Each uploaded file is opened and looked over by a member of the team, and problems such as low-resolution pictures, no bleed or the wrong page size are sent back to you to fix before printing. If fixing it sounds like a chore, choose typesetting for £15: we lay out your text and logo, show you a first draft, then make up to two rounds of changes. If you have no file, you can build the design for these flyers in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.
Will anyone look at my file before it is printed?
Every file gets a human check for size, bleed and resolution, and we contact you about any problem before printing. With the online designer, what you see on screen is what gets printed. Nobody can know your details better than you, so double-check names, numbers and dates: we print what is supplied, and work begins once the order and file are confirmed. Sizes for these flyers go from A4 (210 × 297 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 2 in all.
Which file formats can I upload?
A PDF made at the size you ordered works best, with the fonts embedded or turned into outlines. AI, EPS and SVG are fine too, as are high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF images. Word, PowerPoint or Canva designs can be used, but save them out as a full quality PDF where you can. Attach up to 3 files of up to 25 MB each on the product page, or order first and send them afterwards; we email you a link. Sizes for these flyers go from A4 (210 × 297 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 2 in all.
Once I finish designing these flyers online, is the file mine to keep?
Yes. Order printing with an online design and a full resolution PDF comes with it; after payment you can download it from your confirmation email or from My Account. Just want the file? Finish the design and buy the print-ready PDF on its own for £9.99. As digital content, it cannot be cancelled once the download begins. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A4 (210 × 297 mm).
Which paper would you suggest for Laminated Folded Leaflets?
The gsm figure is the weight of the paper in grams for each square metre, so a bigger number means a thicker, firmer sheet. Silk and gloss have a coating that keeps print sharp and bright, while uncoated sheets take a pen more easily. For Laminated Folded Leaflets the list runs 250gsm gloss, 350gsm silk card or 250gsm silk. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.
Does the lamination option I choose make a difference to Laminated Folded Leaflets?
A laminate is a very thin clear layer sealed over the print. Gloss gives richer, punchier colour; matt takes the shine away so photos and text are easier to read under lights; soft touch feels smooth, almost like velvet. Whichever you pick, the surface copes better with scuffs. For Laminated Folded Leaflets the list runs gloss, both sides; or matt, both sides. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.
Do Laminated Folded Leaflets have a laminate?
In short, the finish / lamination line for Laminated Folded Leaflets reads: Matt or gloss, both sides. Anything unusual in mind? Send the details through our quote form and someone will reply. The Specifications tab lists every other detail. Still torn between two? Type the question into the box on this page and a person will reply.
Can you explain the fold setting for Laminated Folded Leaflets?
The fold option has 10 settings: half fold, 4 pages, folds to 149 × 420 mm; gate fold, 6 pages, folds to 210 × 297 mm; or roll fold, 6 pages, folds to 100 × 210 mm, and 7 others. A half fold goes down the middle once. Roll folds tuck panels inside each other, while Z folds open out like a concertina. A gate fold opens from the centre like two doors, and a cross fold is two folds at right angles. Each option lists its folded size. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds.
How do I pick the right flat size for Laminated Folded Leaflets?
This is how big the sheet is before any folding. For Laminated Folded Leaflets the list runs A3 · 297 × 420 mm or A4 · 210 × 297 mm. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.
I work with cafes, restaurants and food businesses. Are these flyers something we could use?
Yes: Laminated Folded Leaflets sit in our Food & Hospitality section, next to other things cafes, restaurants and food businesses buy for kitchens, counters and dining areas. Prices begin at £72.06. 2 sizes are listed, starting at A4 (210 × 297 mm). The material choices are 250gsm gloss, 350gsm silk card or 250gsm silk. Next year we will want the same flyer again. Is reordering easy?
Yes. Treat it as a fresh order of the same item with the same settings, and attach the file you used last time. For online designs, the print-ready PDF from the original paid order is waiting in My Account and your confirmation email. Change any details that have moved on, such as a new email address or this year's date, before uploading. Sizes for these flyers go from A4 (210 × 297 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 2 in all.
Do I have to register before I can buy?
No. Guest checkout is fine, and card payments go through Stripe, so a debit card or a credit card both work. If you choose to open an account while checking out, My Account keeps your past orders and the print files of anything you designed online. Guest or not, you get an email confirming the order and another with tracking once it is sent. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £72.06.
Who looks after me once I have bought Laminated Folded Leaflets?
You deal with FatPrint the whole way through. Once you order, somebody checks the artwork, Laminated Folded Leaflets are printed specially for your order, and a courier delivers them with a tracking link by email. Need to ask something along the way? Use the question box here or the Contact page and a real person answers.
Can I send these flyers back if I no longer need them?
Not for a change of mind. These flyers are made for your order, and goods made to your specification fall outside the 14-day cancellation right (reg. 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). You can still cancel and get all your money back before production begins. Anything faulty, damaged or wrong is covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and we reprint it or refund you. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.
Can I buy Laminated Folded Leaflets and other products in the same basket?
Yes. Different products, sizes and quantities can all sit in one basket, each as its own line with its own options. Delivery is charged once for the whole order, £7.95 to the UK mainland, and it is free when the goods reach £100 after discount codes. If two items share a design, choose the option to reuse artwork from another basket item and there is no second artwork fee. Sizes for these flyers go from A4 (210 × 297 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 2 in all.
We need a few different designs. Do they each need their own order?
One checkout covers the lot. Add a basket line for every design, attach the right file to each, then pay once. You pay a single delivery charge of £7.95 for the whole order, or nothing if the goods add up to £100 or more. Repeating one design on another line? Choose the artwork choice that points to a file already in the basket, and no second design fee is charged. Sizes for these flyers go from A4 (210 × 297 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 2 in all.
Our club needs a big batch of flyers, or an odd size. Can you price it?
Our Get a quote page is the place, and it also handles delivery to Northern Ireland and the islands. For anything the page cannot do, tell us the size, number, material, date and postcode on Get a quote, add a file if you have one, and we email a price back. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.
The parcel turned up damaged. How do I sort it out?
Look everything over when it arrives. If something is damaged or missing, contact us within 48 hours through the contact form, with your order number and photos of both the item and the packaging. Please keep hold of it until we reply; we then sort out a reprint or a refund. Your legal rights stay the same, as the returns page sets out. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £72.06.
Will my logo colours come out the same as on screen?
Very close, but not always identical. A screen glows, print reflects light, so a small difference is normal. Sending CMYK artwork keeps it nearest; RGB is changed to CMYK before printing and the brightest greens, blues and oranges can look a touch flatter. For an exact brand colour, give us the Pantone reference and we get as close as the material allows. If you have no file, you can build the design for these flyers in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.
I am a parent volunteer with no design experience. Can I still order these flyers?
Yes. The online designer is free to use: start from a ready-made layout, swap in your wording and see exactly what will print. If you would rather hand it over, typesetting costs £15: send the words and a logo, and we set them out neatly, with one first draft and two rounds of changes. Either way, get someone else to read the names, dates and numbers before it goes to print. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A4 (210 × 297 mm).
Can I design these flyers first and show the committee before we pay?
Yes. The online designer is free to use, so you can build the design, look at it on screen and share it round before anyone commits. The preview carries a watermark on screen only; it never appears on the printed item. When everyone is happy, finish the design and order. What you see is what gets printed, so check names, dates and numbers together first. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A4 (210 × 297 mm).
What details should go on these flyers for a small business or club?
Start with your name and logo, a few words on what you do, then your phone number, email, website and the area you cover. If your line of work needs a registration number, add it as text. Less is more: a handful of big, clear words is easier to read than a long list. You will also find these flyers in our Food & Hospitality section.
Can these flyers go in the recycling bin afterwards?
Plain paper and card without lamination go in with ordinary paper recycling, so once the event, offer or year is over they can go in the paper bin at home or work. Lamination, foil and plastic make recycling harder, and rules vary from one council to the next, so check what yours accepts before binning those. Recycled versions are available too. For these flyers, the material can be 250gsm gloss, 350gsm silk card or 250gsm silk.
