Your window is already a sign

Before anyone reads your menu, your price list or your website, they walk past your glass. A bare window says nothing. Add a logo, the hours and a clear offer and it starts working every minute the shop is open, without a single hole drilled in the frontage. That is the appeal of window graphics printing for cafés, salons, barbers, estate agents, trade counters and offices on the first floor above a high street.

What you get from our window graphics printing

There is one product doing all the work here: Shop Window Graphics. You will also find it in the window stickers section, because many people search for it that way.

Why window graphics printing goes matt

Glass reflects a lot of light. A shiny graphic on a shiny window can turn into a white blur when the sun hits it at three in the afternoon. A matt finish takes the glare out, so your hours and your phone number stay readable from the pavement. That is why the vinyl used for our window graphics printing is matt.

Planning window graphics printing that works

Pick the shape for the message

Circles make great badges: a logo, NOW OPEN, 20% OFF. Squares suit opening hours, notices and panels. Rounded squares look softer on a door or a small pane.

Measure the glass, not the frame

Measure the visible pane and leave a clear margin so the vinyl does not run into the seals. A 300 mm piece sits nicely on a door beside the handle. A 1 m panel fills a good chunk of a display window.

Think about reading distance

A window read from across the road needs a few big words. A rough guide: about 25 mm of capital letter height for every 3 metres of distance.

Artwork tips for window graphics printing

  • Set the file up at finished size, with logos and text as vector artwork for clean edges.
  • Photos and small text read up close need 300 dpi at full size.
  • Go for strong contrast. From the street, the inside of a shop often looks dark, so pale text on a pale background vanishes.
  • On circles, keep text well away from the curved edge.
  • Supply CMYK if you can. Very bright screen colours can print a touch duller.

Upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service. A real person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines cover the rest.

Window Graphics: questions answered

What counts as a window graphic?

Any printed vinyl piece stuck onto glass. Ours use a matt monomeric vinyl, printed edge to edge, and are cut round, square or square with soft corners, from 30cm up to 1m. Larger custom panels have prices in the size table. Shops, cafes and offices use them for logos, opening times and offers.

How do I put a window graphic on without bubbles?

Start with spotless, bone-dry glass. Free one edge of the backing, position the graphic, then work outwards from its centre with a squeegee or stiff card so trapped air escapes at the sides. The metre-wide pieces are much easier with a helper holding the other end.

Can window graphics come off later?

Yes. Warm the vinyl with a hairdryer and ease it off slowly, keeping it low to the glass. Any sticky marks come off with glass cleaner. That makes them handy for seasonal offers as well as permanent branding.

Do you do frosted glass film or one way vision?

Not through the website yet. Everything listed here is a printed matt vinyl. For privacy frosting, see-through film or one way vision, send the sizes of your glass through the Get a quote page and we will tell you what we can price.

My window is an odd size. Can you do a custom graphic?

Often, yes. Beyond the standard round and square shapes, the size table also prices rectangles such as 1 m by 0.5 m, 1.2 m by 0.8 m and 2 m by 1 m. If your pane is different again, send the measurements through the Get a quote page first.
