The first thing anyone reads on site
Single signs are specialists: one hazard, one spot. A gate board is the general manager. It greets everyone at the entrance and tells them, in one go, what to wear, where to report and why the site is off limits. Get site safety board printing right and the first minute of every visit is sorted before anyone has spoken to you.
Site safety board printing: inward or outward?
Facing people coming in
The 8 Message Site Safety Board fits the key rules onto one panel, from PPE to reporting in. If you want a simpler layout, the rules board, the notice board and the starts-here design make the same point with different emphasis.
Facing the street
A site next to a school run, a row of terraces or a bus stop needs a warning the public can't miss. Five designs say it in slightly different ways, from a formal notice to the public to a short, sharp danger board. For particular jobs, there's a demolition warning and one about overhead hazards during construction work.
Most street-facing jobs want both kinds: rules pointing in, warning pointing out.
Material that sees the job through
A gate board goes up on day one and comes down at handover, so site safety board printing starts with picking a board that will last.
- 3mm Dibond aluminium composite: metal faces over a solid core, so it doesn't warp in sun or soak up rain. Drill the corners and screw it to a hoarding or a pair of posts.
- 3.5mm Correx: lighter and kinder on the budget, good for shorter jobs or a board zip-tied to Heras.
- 3mm Foamex: smooth and neat for the wall inside the welfare cabin or site office.
Sizes
All three sizes are portrait: A1 (594 × 841 mm), 700 × 1000 mm and A0 (841 × 1189 mm). Live prices are in the size table near the top of the page. A1 is right for a pedestrian gate or the side of a cabin. A vehicle gate, or a board people read from a few paces back, deserves 700 × 1000 mm or A0. Boards packed with several messages need the bigger sizes, or every line ends up tiny. None of these sizes goes beyond A0, so there's no oversize delivery charge on site safety board printing.
Matching the board to your paperwork
Your risk assessment already lists what this site needs to say. Choose the board that lines up with it, then add individual signs for anything the board doesn't mention, such as an open excavation or a crane zone. Think of site safety board printing as the headline and single signs as the small print.
Your name, address and numbers on the board
Every listed board is ready to go. If you'd like your company name, the site address, out-of-hours contacts or your own rules added, send us the wording and size for a quote. Short bold headings, space between messages, and read every phone number out loud before ordering, because the board says exactly what the file says. Upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service; a real person checks every uploaded file for free. Set-up help is in the artwork guidelines.
Timing and delivery
Each product page shows its own production days. All site safety board printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. See the delivery page.
Around the gate
Fence runs take site safety banners, the route to the cabin takes site directional signs, and the safety sign colours and shapes guide explains what the colours mean. Ordering site safety board printing for more than one job? Get a quote.
Site Safety Boards: questions answered
What belongs on a board at the entrance to our site?
Normally the main hazards, the PPE everyone must wear, where visitors should report, and who is in charge. A board carrying eight messages at once gathers all of that in one spot. Your risk assessment decides exactly what your own board should say.
How big a safety board do we need at the gate?
A1 works well beside a pedestrian gate or on a cabin wall. Where vehicles come in, or where a board holds several messages that people must read from further back, step up to 700 × 1000 mm or A0.
Which board material should we use at the gate?
Staying for the whole build? Dibond, 3mm thick, holds its shape outside and you can screw it straight onto the hoarding or a post. For a shorter job, 3.5mm Correx is lighter on the budget, and 3mm Foamex is fine for a board hung inside the site office.
Can the board show our firm's name and where the site is?
Yes. The boards in the range are fixed designs, but we can quote one showing your business, the site's address, who to call in an emergency or rules of your own. Send the words and the size through the Get a quote page.
Is a site safety board the same as a construction site sign?
No. A construction site sign warns about one hazard in one place, such as an open trench or a fragile roof. The boards are larger, from A1 up to A0, and cover the whole site at once, listing its rules or warning the public, usually right by the gate.
