Printed Hoarding
A printed hoarding turns the plywood wall round a building site into the best advert the development will ever get: the scheme name, a picture of the finished homes, a phone number, the safety rules. We print full colour hoarding panels in 8 ft × 4 ft, 4 ft × 4 ft and 1 m square. The main choice is the board, Dibond for a long build or Foamex for a shorter job.

How long is the build?
This decides the board. 3mm Dibond aluminium composite is two aluminium skins round a plastic core. It stays flat outdoors, won't rot and won't rust, so it sees a long build through every season. 5mm Foamex is rigid PVC foam with a crisp print, lighter to handle, but it can bow in strong sun or heat over time, so keep it for shorter jobs or shaded runs. 10mm Foamex is thicker and stiffer, good for a feature panel by the site gate.
How many panels?
Measure the length of hoarding you want covered and divide by 2440 mm. That is your count of full sheets. Use the square panels to fill gaps, wrap round a gate, or stand alone as an information board.
Will one picture run across several panels?
It can. Design it as one long artwork and mark where each 2440 mm panel starts. Then move any text so no word gets split across a joint. A CGI of the finished street looks great across six panels; a phone number cut in half does not.
The printed hoarding range
There is one product here, Printed Hoarding Boards, printed full colour with your own design. Housebuilders use it for the sales message, contractors for the company name and site rules, shopfitters for a "coming soon" wall on the high street. It works anywhere a boundary sits in public view for months.
Sizes
Three panel sizes: 8 ft × 4 ft (2440 × 1220 mm), the standard full sheet; 4 ft × 4 ft (1220 × 1220 mm); and 3 ft 3 in × 3 ft 3 in (1000 × 1000 mm). Live prices for each are in the size table near the top of the page. Full sheets cover the long stretches, and squares finish the ends neatly.
Artwork for printed hoarding panels
- Set the document at finished panel size, or at an exact scale such as 1:10.
- People see hoardings from across the road, so photos only need 100 to 150 dpi at full size. Logos and text should be vector so they stay razor sharp.
- Add 3 mm bleed round each panel and keep text 10 mm or more inside the cut.
- Send a PDF with fonts embedded or outlined, in CMYK where you can.
Upload a print-ready file, make one in the free online designer, or use our paid artwork service. A real person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines cover bleed, scale and resolution, and the Foamex, Dibond or Correx guide compares the boards.
Getting a printed hoarding to site
Standard production is 5 working days, express 4 and saver 7, counted from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Everything is made to order and dispatched from the UK. Make sure someone is on site to sign for the panels, and put any access restrictions in the note at checkout.
UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Boards bigger than A0 add £15, and the full 8 ft × 4 ft panel is bigger than A0. Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. The delivery page has the rest.
Round off the site
A printed hoarding handles the long run. For the Heras sections, see site safety banners, and for the gate, site safety boards. Pricing a whole development? Get a quote for the full printed hoarding run.
Hoardings: questions answered
What does a hoarding actually do on a building job?
A hoarding is the solid temporary wall put round a building site. It keeps passers-by out and hides the works from the street. Printed boards fixed to it show the project name, pictures, contact details and safety messages, turning a plain fence into a notice board.
How big are your printed hoarding boards?
There are three. The full 8 × 4 ft sheet (2440 x 1220 mm) covers the most ground, and two square panels, 1220 mm and 1000 mm, fill shorter runs, gates or information spots. Every size is available in 3mm Dibond, 5mm Foamex or 10mm Foamex.
Our hoarding will be up for eighteen months. Which board should we pick?
3mm Dibond, because an aluminium composite panel keeps flat outside and will not rot or corrode over a long build. 5mm Foamex is lighter but may bow in strong sun or heat after a while. 10mm Foamex is thicker and feels solid, which suits panels people will touch.
How sharp do photos need to be for hoarding artwork?
People look at hoardings from a few metres back, so photos at 100 to 150 dpi at full size are enough. Supply logos and wording as vector files so they stay crisp. Add 3 mm of bleed, and keep all text at least 10 mm in from the cut edge.
How quickly are hoarding boards made, and what will delivery cost?
On standard they are ready to leave us 2 working days after your artwork is agreed, express takes 1 and saver 4. Delivery to the UK mainland is £7.95, or free when goods total £100 after discounts. The full 8 × 4 ft sheet is bigger than A0, so it adds the £15 oversize charge.
