Warehouse and Stock Signs (warehouse sign printing)

Walk the warehouse, door to dock

Follow a delivery through the building and you'll see where each sign earns its place. The lorry backs up and a Goods Inwards Sign tells the driver which door. Stock gets checked and sits in a cage marked awaiting inspection until someone signs it off as passed. It goes onto racking where a reminder says new stock goes behind the old. Pickers work to first in, first out. A forklift threads between them all. Finished orders head to the goods outwards bay. Warehouse sign printing covers every one of those stops.

Warehouse sign printing, by job

Vehicles

The Forklift Safety Sign uses the standard ISO 7010 warning symbol for industrial vehicles. Where it goes is down to your risk assessment: typically where trucks and people share an aisle or a doorway.

Stock rotation

Six reminders, including First in First Out, pick oldest stock first, new stock behind existing stock, quantities on shelves and clean products before display. Handy anywhere with dates on the packaging, from a cash and carry to a school kitchen store.

5S

Four red tag signs mark the local and central holding areas and show the steps to take, so tagged items end up in one agreed place instead of a corner nobody owns.

Goods flow and quality

Goods inwards and outwards, plus awaiting inspection and passed quality assurance, so unchecked stock doesn't get picked by mistake.

Most of these support your own procedures rather than being required by name in law. The forklift sign is the one tied to a hazard.

Warehouse sign printing materials: board or sticker?

  • 3mm Foamex: light and rigid, fine on racking ends, office partitions and walls away from traffic.
  • 3mm Dibond aluminium composite: stiffer and tougher, for loading bays, yard doors and anywhere a pallet might clip it.
  • Self-adhesive vinyl: sticks straight onto racking uprights, cages and smooth doors. No fixings needed.

Every design is printed full colour on one side.

Sizes that read at the right distance

In warehouse sign printing, most designs come in A4 (210 × 297 mm), A3 (297 × 420 mm) or A2 (420 × 594 mm). As a guide, A4 reads at about 8 m, A3 at about 12 m and A2 at about 17 m. So A4 for a pick face, A2 for a goods-in door seen from the far end of an aisle. The goods inwards and outwards signs are long strips, 200 × 50 mm, 250 × 75 mm or 297 × 100 mm, for over a door or on a bay marker. All live prices are in the size table near the top of the page.

Custom wording for warehouse sign printing

The stock designs are fixed and need no artwork. If your site uses its own zone names, bay numbers or process steps, send the wording and get a quote. Short words in a bold typeface read fastest from a moving truck. You can also upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service; a real person checks every uploaded file for free. See the artwork guidelines.

Timing, delivery and related signs

Each product page shows its own production days. All warehouse sign printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. See the delivery page. Warehouse sign printing often goes alongside warning signs, mandatory signs and chemical and hazard signs, all in the wider safety signs range.

Warehouse and Stock Signs: questions answered

Does the law require stock rotation signs in our warehouse?

Not by name. Signs for 5S, stock rotation and quality checks exist to back up the way you choose to run things, and to remind the team of safe habits. Genuine safety signs, like a forklift warning, are another matter, and your risk assessment points out where those must go.

What is a 5S red tag holding area?

When a team sorts a space using 5S, anything that might not be needed gets a red tag and is parked in one place until someone decides its fate. These signs mark that parking spot, either a local one or a central one, and a further sign walks staff through each step.

Which forklift sign should go up in our warehouse?

Start with the Forklift Safety sign, which carries symbol W014 and is sold from A4 up to A2. If you need blind corner or reversing vehicle warnings as well, you will find them in the separate warning signs range.

Can a sign stick straight onto our racking?

Yes. A vinyl sticker grips smooth upright frames, cages and doors. For the end of a rack or a wall, 3mm Foamex is light and stiff. In a loading bay where pallets bang into things, 3mm Dibond stands up to knocks better.
