Site Safety Banners (site safety banner printing)

When a board just isn't big enough

Rigid signs top out around A1. Stick one on a fence facing a dual carriageway and it's a postage stamp to anyone driving past. A banner solves that. It rolls up behind the van seat, goes on with cable ties through the eyelets, and comes off again when the fence line moves for the next phase. That's the whole case for site safety banner printing.

Site safety banner printing: what the 15 designs say

  • Stay out: the No Access banner, a red danger version, and one that limits entry to authorised staff.
  • Dress for the job: a PPE banner, and the famous three-word rule about hats, boots and jobs.
  • You're being watched: two CCTV banners, one of them spelling out round-the-clock recording.
  • Vehicles: 5 mph and 10 mph site speed limits, a caution banner for the gate, and one to stop vans blocking it.
  • People on foot: a banner telling pedestrians which route to use.
  • Housekeeping and fire: a bins reminder, a fire exit arrow and a keep-clear banner for the exit itself.

Solid or holey?

Site safety banner printing comes in two materials, and any design works in either. 440gsm PVC is solid, so colours pop and small words stay crisp. It suits hoardings, walls and the sheltered side of a site. 260gsm mesh is woven with tiny holes. Wind goes through rather than tugging at every fixing, which matters on a long open run of Heras. Rule of thumb: if it's exposed and staying up for more than a couple of weeks, pick mesh. The PVC or mesh banner guide has more. Putting solid PVC somewhere windy anyway? Use lots of ties, pull it tight, and take it in when a storm's forecast.

Sizes for site safety banner printing

  • 3 ft 11 in × 2 ft 7 in (1200 × 800 mm): gates, cabin sides and short bits of fence.
  • 6 ft 7 in × 3 ft 3 in (2000 × 1000 mm): a fence section or scaffold lift where space is tight.
  • 10 ft 10 in × 5 ft 11 in (3300 × 1800 mm): sized to fill one Heras panel edge to edge.
  • Custom: any of the designs, made to fit a hoarding or an odd gap.

Live prices are in the size table near the top of the page. The Heras size runs past 3 m, so the oversize delivery charge applies to it.

Adding your own wording or logo

Want your company name under the warning, or a message that isn't listed? Site safety banner printing works just as well with your own file. Hold text and logos back 50 mm from the edges so an eyelet never lands on a letter. Banners are read from far off, so 100 to 150 dpi at full size is plenty. On mesh, thin strokes break up when you stand close, so choose chunky lettering. Upload a print-ready file, try the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service; a real person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines explain set-up, and you can always send us the words for a quote.

Timing and delivery

Each product page shows its own production days. All site safety banner printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. Anything longer than 3 m on a side adds £15. See the delivery page.

Banners, boards and single signs

Banners handle the perimeter. The gate itself wants a site safety board with the full rules, and single hazards inside the fence are a job for construction site signs. Solid perimeters take hoarding boards. Running site safety banner printing for several jobs at once? Get a quote and we'll price the lot together.

Site Safety Banners: questions answered

Our site banner goes on Heras fencing. Should it be PVC or mesh?

For Heras panels, scaffolding or anywhere open to the wind, choose 260gsm mesh. Air flows through, so the eyelets are not torn about. Save 440gsm PVC for brick walls, hoarding panels and sheltered corners, where you want the richest colour and the crispest lettering.

Which banner size fits one Heras panel?

Choose 3300 by 1800 mm, which is made to match a Heras panel. For tighter spaces there are also 2 m by 1 m and 1.2 m by 0.8 m sizes, and any design can be printed to your own measurements if your fencing is different.

What is the safest way to fix a banner to Heras panels?

Loop a cable tie through each eyelet and round the fence frame, going all the way along every edge and into every corner. Aim for taut rather than strained. On a windy site, check the ties every so often, and bring PVC banners down if a storm is on the way.

Could we have a site banner with our own logo or wording?

Yes. Send us the words, logo and size and we will give you a price. Keep lettering and logos at least 50 mm in from the edges so no eyelet punches through them, and if you choose mesh, use chunky, bold type.

What will delivery cost on site safety banners?

The UK mainland rate is £7.95 an order, and free when the goods reach £100 after discounts. Anything over 3 m on one side adds £15 once per order, so the 3300 by 1800 mm banner carries that charge. Mainland Scottish Highlands add £10. Scottish islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted, so contact us first.
