Overview

Continuation sheets printing at FatPrint, in short: a three-page quote where page one is on thick branded paper and pages two and three are on thin copier paper looks odd. The weight changes in the hand, the white is a different shade, and it looks thrown together. Continuation sheets fix that by giving you the same paper for every page after the first.

Printed or blank: the real decision

Printed, front only. Keep it light: a small logo in a corner, a thin colour bar, or your web address in the footer. The heading stays on page one; this just ties the later pages to it.

Blank. The same paper, unprinted. No artwork, nothing to check. Ideal if you want page two to be totally clean but still feel like page one.

Continuation sheets printing: pick the same weight as your letterhead

  • 90gsm. Standard office paper weight, happy in laser and inkjet printers.
  • 120gsm. Thicker and more solid, popular for formal letters.
  • 170gsm. Heavy, so test your printer before ordering a big pack.

Match this to the paper you chose for your letterheads and every page will feel the same.

Who needs them

A solicitor sending a four-page letter. A builder whose quotes run over a page with a list of materials. A charity writing a funding bid. A landlord sending tenancy paperwork. If your documents often spill onto page two, you will want these.

Quantities, artwork and delivery

Packs of 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000 or 10,000. Most people order at least as many continuation sheets as letterheads. For printed sheets, upload a print-ready PDF at A4 plus 3 mm bleed on every edge, or design one in the free online designer. The paid artwork service is there too. A person checks every uploaded file for free; see the artwork guidelines.

Continuation sheets printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK. Express is from 2 working days to dispatch, Standard from 4 and Saver from 6, once your order and artwork are confirmed. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts; see delivery.

Questions

Quick answers about continuation sheets printing.

Our letters sometimes run to three pages. What are continuation sheets for?

They are the pages that come after your letterhead on longer letters. Each carries a light design or none at all, leaving your main header to appear once, at the top of page one.

Should our continuation sheets be printed or left blank?

If every page should show your brand, go printed: we add a light touch on the front, perhaps your logo or a footer line. Choose blank and you get identical paper to the letterhead with nothing on it, so the whole letter feels and looks consistent.

Which paper weight should the continuation sheets be?

The same as your letterheads. 90gsm runs through office printers happily, 120gsm feels weightier, and 170gsm is thick enough that you should confirm your printer copes before ordering.

What file do I need to send for printed continuation sheets?

A PDF ready for print, at A4 with 3 mm of bleed on all four edges, and wording kept 3 mm or more in from where the sheet is cut. Prefer to build it on screen? The Design it online tool works too. For blank sheets there is no file to send.

Will you tell me if something is wrong with my file?

We will. Every upload for your A4 continuation sheet order is checked by a person for resolution, size and bleed, and you hear from us before anything is printed. In the online designer, what you see is what we print. Paid help is there too: a clean layout from your text and logo (£15), a design from your brief (£35) or a logo redraw (£30), each with one first draft and two rounds of changes.

How long before our continuation sheets are dispatched and delivered?

Express takes from 2 working days, Standard from 4 and Saver from 6, once your artwork has been confirmed. Delivery is £7.95 to the UK mainland, free when goods reach £100; the Scottish Highlands add £10, and islands and Northern Ireland are quoted.

Asked by buyers

How cheaply can I get hold of A4 Continuation Sheets?

Picked the way the page first loads, with 90gsm smooth white paper and Printed, front only, A4 Continuation Sheets come to £24.26. Any other mix of options, a faster turnaround included, gets its own price the moment you choose it, and that figure is what you pay at checkout. Only delivery is left to add. On its own the opening price of £24.26 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero.

Which turnaround speeds can I choose for A4 Continuation Sheets?

Allow 6 working days on Saver, 4 on Standard or 2 on Express before A4 Continuation Sheets are handed to the courier, based on the options the page opens with. Weekends and bank holidays are not counted, and nothing starts until the order is paid and the artwork is confirmed. Pick another size or material and the days beside each speed update, sometimes by a day. After it leaves us, the courier normally delivers in one to three working days and you get the tracking link by email.

Is delivery extra on top of the price of A4 Continuation Sheets?

Send it to a UK mainland address for a flat £7.95, or for free when the goods in the basket add up to £100 or more after discounts; artwork and design charges do not count towards that. An order of just this at the opening price of £24.26 is under £100, so it pays the £7.95. We price delivery first for Northern Ireland and for the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, Scilly, the Scottish islands and the Isle of Man; Highland addresses on the mainland just pay £10 extra, one time per order.

Which artwork services are offered with A4 Continuation Sheets?

Several routes, all chosen under Artwork on this page. Send your own finished file (no charge), we set your words and logo on a tidy layout, called typesetting (£15), we design it from your brief (£35), we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30) or we create a brand new logo (£50). Typesetting and design from a brief each come with one first draft and two rounds of changes. The fee is the same whatever quantity you order and shows separately in the basket. There is also a free online designer if you want to build it yourself. Material choices for A4 Continuation Sheets: 90gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 170gsm smooth white paper.

Is the online designer free, and how do I use it?

Pick a starting layout, swap in your own words, logo and pictures, and move things around until it looks right. While you work, the tool flags sample text you forgot to change, small text, items outside the safe area and blurry images, before you can finish. It is free to use and the on-screen watermark does not print. What you see is what we print. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Once printed, can I run these sheets through our office printer to add each letter?

You can choose 90gsm, 120gsm or 170gsm smooth white paper. The 90 to 120gsm range suits nearly every office laser or inkjet; thicker sheets may want the single-sheet manual tray. Leave clear space in the design where your letter text goes, and try one sheet through your printer before loading a full ream. You will also find these sheets in our Plumbers & Heating Engineers, Mechanics & Garages, Gas Engineers and Air Con & Refrigeration sections.

I am never sure how many to print. How many sheets is sensible?

Start from how many you will really hand out before your details or offer change. This page goes from 100 up to 10,000, and the price per sheet usually falls as the number rises, so compare a couple of amounts. For a one-off campaign, a modest first order is a cheap way to test the design. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Is there a minimum quantity for A4 Continuation Sheets?

Yes. You can start at 100, with 250, 500, 1000 and 2500 as the next steps. Each price is the total for that quantity, so divide it to compare the cost of one item across a few options before deciding. For an amount outside the list, ask for a quote. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?

No surprises: what the page shows for these sheets is the goods figure you pay at checkout. Delivery is the one extra, £7.95 to a UK mainland address, and it drops away when the goods reach £100 after discounts. Paid artwork help shows up as its own basket line, so you can check each amount before paying. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

How many A4 Continuation Sheets can I buy at one time?

Anything from 100 to 10000. The quantity choices on the page run 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000 and 10000. The figure shown is for the whole batch, not for one, so divide it by the number you picked to see the cost of each. If you need more than 10000, send the size, number and date through our Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Our event is close. Can A4 Continuation Sheets be rushed?

Yes. Choose Express and A4 Continuation Sheets can be on the way in 2 working days on the opening option, for £28.08, where Saver is £24.26 and takes 6 days. Then give the courier one to three working days, and send the artwork with the order, because the clock does not run until the file is sorted. If the date is really tight, message us on the Contact page before paying and we will tell you honestly.

Do you send to Northern Ireland or the islands?

Yes, anywhere in the UK, though the price differs by area. A Highlands postcode on the mainland pays the usual rate plus a single £10 for the order, and that £10 still applies when the rest of the delivery is free. Northern Ireland gets a price worked out first, as do the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, Scilly, the Scottish islands and the Isle of Man: send your postcode through our Get a quote page or the Contact page. We cannot send anything outside the UK. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?

That is why a person looks at every upload before anything is printed. Typical snags are a document at the wrong size, missing bleed, blurry photos and words sitting too near the trim. If we spot one, we explain what to change and you send a fresh file. Or hand it over to us: for £15 our typesetting places your wording and logo on a neat layout, with one first draft and two rounds of changes. If you have no file, you can build the design for these sheets in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Will anyone look at my file before it is printed?

Yes, a real person on our team opens every uploaded file and checks the size, the bleed and the resolution. If something is off, you hear from us before anything is made. Designs made in the online designer are printed exactly as they looked on screen. We print what you send, though, so read the spelling, numbers and dates yourself as well. Making starts when the order and the file are both confirmed. If you have no file, you can build the design for these sheets in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Can I send a Word or Canva file for A4 Continuation Sheets?

Word, PowerPoint and Canva are a fair place to start, but export a high quality PDF from them before uploading. Our first choice is always a PDF at the ordered size with fonts embedded or outlined, followed by AI, EPS or SVG, then high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF. You can add three files, each up to 25 MB, on this page, or upload them after ordering from the email we send. If you have no file, you can build the design for these sheets in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you.

Someone else is putting our file together. How does it reach you?

Easiest route: they send the finished file to whoever placed the order, and it gets uploaded after ordering. Up to 3 files of 25 MB each are fine. They can also reach us through the Contact page, as long as they quote your order number so it lands on the right job. Production waits for the checked file, so a late file means a later dispatch date. If you have no file, you can build the design for these sheets in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you.

Once I finish designing these sheets online, is the file mine to keep?

Two ways. Buy the file on its own: finish your design and pay £9.99 for the print-ready PDF, though you give up the right to cancel as soon as you start downloading it. Or order printing, and a full resolution PDF of the design travels with the order, waiting for you in your confirmation email and under My Account once you have paid. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Can you explain the printing setting for A4 Continuation Sheets?

Choose black only or full colour, and one side or both. For A4 Continuation Sheets the list runs blank (same paper, unprinted); or Printed, front only. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.

How do I pick the right paper for A4 Continuation Sheets?

The paper option has 3 settings: 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper. The gsm figure is the weight of the paper in grams for each square metre, so a bigger number means a thicker, firmer sheet. Silk and gloss have a coating that keeps print sharp and bright, while uncoated sheets take a pen more easily. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. For these sheets, the material can be 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper.

Would A4 Continuation Sheets be useful for air conditioning and refrigeration engineers?

For air con and fridge servicing, look under Air Con & Refrigeration in the shop: A4 Continuation Sheets are listed there. Prices begin at £24.26; the material choices are 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper; you can order from 100 up to 10000. People buying for that kind of work often add NCR Pads or Flyers. Put everything in one order and delivery is free at £100 or more.

I work with gas engineers. Are these sheets something we could use?

Yes: A4 Continuation Sheets sit in our Gas Engineers section, next to other things gas engineers buy for gas installs and safety checks. Prices begin at £24.26. The material choices are 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper. You can order from 100 up to 10000. Also in that section: Letterheads and A3 Magnetic Signs. One basket can hold the lot, and delivery is free once the goods reach £100.

Do mechanics and garages buy A4 Continuation Sheets from you?

Yes: A4 Continuation Sheets sit in our Mechanics & Garages section, next to other things mechanics and garages buy for garages, forecourts and service bays. Prices begin at £24.26. The material choices are 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper. You can order from 100 up to 10000. Also in that section: Flyers and Hanging Banners. One basket can hold the lot, and delivery is free once the goods reach £100.

Should I get A4 Continuation Sheets, or would Letterheads suit me better?

Set A4 Continuation Sheets beside Letterheads and a few things differ. Opening price: £24.26 on this page and £31.05 on the other. On the Standard service it is 4 working days on this page and 3 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

Where do A4 Continuation Sheets and Printed Envelopes differ?

Comparing A4 Continuation Sheets with Printed Envelopes, this is what changes. Material: 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper on this page, against 90gsm white, self seal; or 100gsm white, self seal on the other. Opening price: £24.26 on this page and £111.54 on the other. On the Standard service it is 4 working days on this page and 6 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

Can I pay for A4 Continuation Sheets by card as a guest?

Yes. Guest checkout is fine, and any debit or credit card works. Stripe processes the payment for us, which keeps your card number off our system entirely. We begin making these sheets once the payment has cleared and the artwork is confirmed. Large or out of the ordinary jobs can be quoted first from the Get a quote page. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

We need a few different designs. Do they each need their own order?

No. Each design goes into the basket as a separate line with its own file or online design, and you pay for them all in one checkout. Delivery is counted once for the whole order and costs nothing when the goods reach £100. If two lines share the same artwork, pick the artwork option that reuses a file already in your basket, so any design fee is only paid once. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Next year we will want the same sheet again. Is reordering easy?

Very. Choose the same product with the same options and upload the same file, and it is made again exactly as before. Designed it online? The print PDF from your first paid order stays in My Account and in the confirmation email, so you can reuse it. Before you repeat it, read the wording again: dates, prices, opening times and contact details are the things that go out of date. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you.

Do I pay delivery on each item in my basket?

No. One delivery charge covers the whole basket, so adding A4 Continuation Sheets to other items does not add a second one. It is £7.95 to a UK mainland address and nothing once the goods total £100 after any discount code. Using the same design on two items? Pick the reuse-artwork option on the second one and you pay the artwork fee just once. Each line keeps its own size and quantity.

Do I have to register before I can buy?

There is no need to sign up. Pay as a guest with a bank card, handled securely by Stripe, and you still get an order confirmation email and a tracking email on dispatch. An account is optional; it just keeps your order history in one place, along with downloads of designs you made online. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Our treasurer needs a receipt for the accounts. What do we get?

Keep the order confirmation email we send: it itemises the purchase and the payment, and works as a plain receipt for your records. The total at checkout for these sheets is the goods price on the page plus delivery, so the email matches what left the account. Need something more formal for an audit or a grant claim? Message us from the Contact page with your order number. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

I have spotted a typo after paying. Can it be fixed?

Tell us quickly through the Contact page, quoting your order number. Before production starts we can take a corrected file, or cancel and refund the whole order. After that it cannot be changed. A print that matches your finished design or the file you sent is not a fault, so it pays to read every word and number before you order. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Can I send these sheets back if I no longer need them?

If they arrive faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, yes: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we reprint or refund. A change of mind is different. Each order is made to your specification, and reg. 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 takes those goods out of the 14-day right to cancel. Before production starts, though, you can cancel for all your money back. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

The parcel turned up damaged. How do I sort it out?

Take photos of the damage and the box it came in, then send them through the contact form within 48 hours of delivery, with your order number. Hold on to the item rather than posting it back; we reply and arrange a reprint or refund. This sits alongside your legal rights, which the returns page covers. Choose Saver and these sheets leave us after 6 working days; Express brings that down to 2.

Should I send my file as RGB or CMYK?

CMYK if you can. An RGB file gets converted to CMYK for printing, and vivid greens, blues and oranges may lose a little brightness on the way. Have a Pantone number for your brand colour? Tell us and we match it as near as the material lets us. Expect a small shift between screen and print either way: a screen shines light at you, while printed items reflect it. If you have no file, you can build the design for these sheets in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

I am a parent volunteer with no design experience. Can I still order these sheets?

You do not need to be a designer, and nobody expects a parent or a club helper to be one. You can use the online designer at no cost, which checks things like tiny text and blurry photos as you go. Or choose typesetting for £15 and send us your text and logo; you get a first draft and up to two rounds of changes. A second pair of eyes on the spelling always helps. If you have no file, you can build the design for these sheets in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you.

Bleed and dpi mean nothing to me. Can I still get printing done?

Yes. You do not need any print knowledge to order A4 Continuation Sheets. Send us your words and logo with the typesetting option (£15) and we build the layout, then you get a first draft and two rounds of changes. If you would rather make it yourself, the online designer checks the technical side as you go. Whatever you choose, a real person looks at the file before printing.

Which mistakes does the online designer warn me about?

Five things: placeholder wording still sitting in the layout, lettering smaller than will print clearly, anything creeping past the safe area or right up to the trim, logos or photos with too few pixels for the size, and shapes lying on top of words. A serious issue has to be sorted before you finish, while a plain warning can be accepted if you are happy with it. Your spelling is not read, so go over names, numbers and dates yourself. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Can I design these sheets first and show the committee before we pay?

You can. Designing online costs nothing until you order, so make a draft, show it to the group and tweak it as often as you like. The on-screen watermark is only there on the preview and is never printed. The designer flags things like small text or low-resolution photos as you go, but it cannot catch a wrong date, so have a second person read it. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

How should we keep these sheets in good condition until we need them?

Store paper and card lying flat, in the box it arrived in, in a dry spot out of sunlight and away from radiators. Moisture makes sheets curl and can cause jams in a printer, and strong light fades the colours over time. Only take out what you need, so the rest stays clean. For these sheets, the material can be 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper. Before delivery, these sheets cost from £24.26.

Can these sheets go in the recycling bin afterwards?

In most cases, yes, because unlaminated paper and card can go straight into your paper recycling. Foiled, laminated or plastic items are a different matter: they are harder to recycle and councils treat them differently, so look up your local rules first. Taking lamination off the order is the simplest way to keep it easy to recycle. For these sheets, the material can be 170gsm smooth white paper, 120gsm smooth white paper or 90gsm smooth white paper. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each sheet is made to order for you.
