Vehicle Magnets Printing

Vehicle magnets printing for the car that does a plumbing round on Tuesday and the school run on Wednesday. Each sign is printed in full colour on 900µ magnetic sheeting, sticks to a steel door panel and peels off when the working day is done. Shop by vehicle (car door, van or taxi) or simply by size: A4 for small panels, A3 for most car doors and A2 for van sides. Order anything from 1 to 250.

Branding you can take off

Your car earns money in the week and goes to the in-laws on Sunday. Vinyl lettering can't do both; a magnet can. Pop it on in the morning, peel it off before parents' evening, and nobody's the wiser. It suits lease and company cars too, since nothing touches the paintwork permanently, and it's ideal for trying out vehicle advertising before you commit to a full wrap. That flexibility makes vehicle magnets printing a sensible first sign for a sole trader.

Vehicle magnets printing: which page to use

There are seven products, but they're all made the same way from the same sheeting. Some are named after the vehicle, some after the size, so use whichever way you think.

What 900µ sheeting means

900 microns is 0.9 mm: thick enough to grip firmly and bendy enough to follow a gentle curve on a door. The print goes straight on the face in full colour. The one catch with vehicle magnets printing is the metal underneath. Magnets only hold on steel. Plenty of modern vehicles use aluminium, plastic or fibreglass for some panels, so run a fridge magnet over the spot before you order.

Choosing a size

A4 is 210 × 297 mm, A3 is 297 × 420 mm and A2 is 420 × 594 mm. Live prices are in the size table near the top of the page. The key is the flat area: measure the flattest bit of the panel, clear of handles, badges and creases in the bodywork. A magnet needs to sit flat all over. If part of it bridges a crease, drop down a size.

Fitting and looking after them

  • Fit to a clean, dry panel, not straight after a frosty night.
  • Touch the top edge to the door first, then smooth downwards so no air gets trapped.
  • Every few days, take them off, wipe and dry the panel and the back of the magnet, and store them flat.
  • Take them off before a car wash. Always.

Vehicle Magnets: questions answered

How thick is the magnetic sheet?

Just under a millimetre: every magnet in this range uses 900µ magnetic sheet. Whether you buy a small A4 car sign or a large A2 van panel, the material is exactly the same.

Can my van signs stay on all the time?

Better not. Every few days, peel them off, wipe and dry the van and the magnetic side, then refit. That stops grit and damp building up underneath. Take them off before any wash, and keep them lying flat when they are not on the vehicle.

Will a magnet stick to an aluminium van?

No, magnets only grip steel. Plenty of vans have aluminium or plastic panels in places, so try a fridge magnet on each panel first. If that does not hold firmly, the sign will not either.

What size magnet fits a car door?

On a typical car, the flat part of the front door takes A3. Vans and larger cars can usually carry A2, and A4 fits small panels or tailgates. Measure the flat area, steering clear of handles and body lines.

I run two vans for different businesses. Can I order two designs?

Of course. Put each design in your basket as a separate line. A single design can go up to 250 copies in one order, which covers a whole fleet carrying the same sign.
