What are die cut crash lock boxes?

These are crash lock boxes with the extras switched on. The base locks itself as you open the box out, and on top of that you get a wider choice of boards, finishes and metallic coatings. The sizes come from a fixed set of 41 cutting shapes, so you pick the one that fits rather than building it from scratch.

41 sizes, small to large

Sizes are listed as length × depth × height in millimetres. A few examples:

Small: 40 × 40 × 100, 60 × 60 × 60, 50 × 50 × 110.
Tall and slim: 40 × 40 × 190, 50 × 50 × 200, 90 × 40 × 200.
Cubes: 70, 80, 90, 100, 120 and 200 mm.
Wide: 150 × 100 × 90 and 200 × 100 × 100.

Boards, lamination and coatings

Choose Classic Demimatt 400gsm, Technodesign 380gsm, Premium Card, Embossed Card or Havana brown. Laminate the outer side in gloss, matt or soft touch, or not at all. Then add a gold or silver coating, or extra-thick varnish, if you want the box to catch the light.

Printing is front side only, or front and back with a different design on each.

How are the sizes written?

Each size is length × depth × height in millimetres, for example 90 × 90 × 140. There are 41 to choose from, from 40 × 40 × 100 up to 200 × 200 × 200.

How is this different from the standard crash lock box?

Both have a self-locking base. This one comes in fixed sizes but adds more boards, soft touch lamination and gold, silver or varnish coatings.

What do the coatings do?

Gold and silver coatings add a metallic look, and extra-thick varnish adds a raised, glossy layer. You can also choose no coating.

Can I print on both sides?

Yes. Choose front side only, or front and back with a different design on each.

Which board is the most premium?

Embossed Card and Premium Card give the richest feel. Havana suits a natural brown look, and Classic Demimatt 400gsm and Technodesign 380gsm are smooth, firm all-rounders.
