Overview
DTF transfers printing is for people who own a heat press and want full-colour designs without cutting or weeding vinyl. Think of a club kit secretary pressing crests onto training tops, a small clothing brand doing its first drop, a hen party wanting matching T-shirts, or a trades firm adding its logo to a batch of hoodies.
How a DTF sheet works
DTF stands for direct to film. Your artwork is printed in full colour, single sided, onto a DTF transfer sheet. When it arrives, you cut out each design, place it on the garment or bag, press it with a heat press and peel the film away. The colour stays on the fabric; the film goes in the bin.
DTF transfers printing: filling the sheet
You order by the sheet, so gang as many designs onto it as will fit. A left-chest logo, a big back print, a few sleeve names and some smaller children's sizes can all share one 560 × 1000 mm sheet. Leave a small gap between designs so they are easy to cut apart. Need more room? Order up to 10 sheets.
Artwork that presses well
Supply each design at the size you want it on the garment, on a transparent background, at good resolution. Very fine lines and tiny text are harder to press cleanly, so keep details bold. Upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book the paid artwork service; a person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines cover resolution and file types.
Timing and delivery
Standard production is 4 working days after your order and artwork are confirmed, express from 2 and saver 6. Sheets are made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts; see delivery. More options are in DTF transfers.

Questions
Quick answers about dtf transfers printing.
I have a heat press for club kits. How do I put DTF transfers onto shirts?
You press them on with heat. Each order comes with guidance on the heat, timing and pressure to use, so set your press to those figures rather than guessing.
Can I check the cost before I order?
It starts at £31.78, the cheapest combination, and changes as you pick options. What the page shows is what you pay for the goods at checkout. Postage to the UK mainland is £7.95 per basket, not per item, and free when your goods total £100 or more.
Can I order several transfers at once?
Yes. Anything from 1 up to 10 is priced on this page. The price per piece usually drops as the number goes up, which helps clubs and shops ordering in bulk. Spend £100 on goods (design fees are not counted) and UK mainland delivery is free; otherwise it is £7.95 once.
What happens after I order?
FatPrint receives it, a person checks your file, then your DTF transfer is made to order and handed to the courier. You get tracking by email the day it ships. Questions along the way? The question box on this page reaches a person.
What is the turnaround on my DTF transfer order?
Pick Saver (6 working days), Standard (4 working days) or Express (2 working days); that is the time before it leaves us. The clock starts once your order is placed and the file is confirmed. Mainland UK delivery adds £7.95 to the basket, and nothing once the goods reach £100 after any discount code.
What is a DTF transfer made of?
DTF Transfer Sheet is the material, with the design printed in full colour. It comes in 560 × 1000 mm. Prices start at £31.78.
Asked by buyers
How much will DTF Transfers set me back?
£31.78 is where DTF Transfers start, set up as DTF transfer sheet, 560 × 1000 mm and single Sided on the Saver speed. Change the size, material, extras, quantity or speed and the total on the page moves straight away. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted).
Is delivery ever free?
It is £7.95 for the whole order, not per item, and free once the goods reach £100 after any discount code; design or artwork charges are left out of that £100. On its own the opening price of £31.78 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A mainland Highlands postcode puts a single £10 on the order. Northern Ireland has its delivery priced before you pay, and so do the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man.
If I buy DTF Transfers today, when will they leave you?
As the page first opens, the speeds for DTF Transfers are Express 2 working days, Standard 4 and Saver 6, counting Monday to Friday and skipping bank holidays. The count begins once we have your order and a file ready to print. A bigger size or a different material can move it by a day either way; each speed shows its own days as you choose. Tracking arrives by email on the day it ships, and the courier usually takes one to three working days from there.
I cannot design at all. Can someone make the artwork for me?
Yes. When you choose the Artwork option you can pick from: send your own finished file (no charge), we set your words and logo on a tidy layout, called typesetting (£15), we design it from your brief (£35), we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30) or we create a brand new logo (£50). Each fee is fixed, sits as its own line in your basket and covers every item on that line. Typesetting and design from a brief each come with one first draft and two rounds of changes. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
I have never used DTF. What exactly arrives?
A film sheet printed with your designs and backed with adhesive, ready to heat press onto garments and other fabric. DTF is short for direct to film. Each sheet measures 560 × 1000 mm, so fit several designs onto it to get the most from the space. Stick to the heat press settings that come with the transfer, and try one on a spare garment first.
What are the measurements of DTF Transfers?
It measures 560 × 1000 mm and costs from £31.78. Spend £100 on goods and mainland delivery is free; below that it is £7.95. Other settings on the page, such as quantity, adjust the total as you go. The size table further up the page lists every size next to its price, so you can weigh up two sizes side by side.
Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?
The only thing that can join the goods price is delivery; the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted). If you pick a paid design option, it sits in the basket as a separate line with its own fee, so every penny is listed before you pay. Before delivery, these transfers cost from £31.78.
Is there a minimum quantity for these transfers?
The smallest order is 1 and the largest listed is 10; the list starts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and carries on from there. The price on the page covers every item in that quantity. To compare two quantities fairly, split each total by its number. A bigger run than the list allows can be priced separately on our Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each transfer is made to order for you.
Can a private person buy a single transfer?
Yes. One is enough, and you do not need a business name or an account to check out. The opening price is £31.78, and any bank card will do. On its own the opening price of £31.78 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A person still checks your file before it is printed, just as for a big order.
I live in the Scottish Highlands. Will DTF Transfers cost more to send?
The whole UK is covered. Outside it, sadly, we cannot deliver. Mainland addresses in the Highlands pay one extra £10 on the order, even when delivery would otherwise be free. For Northern Ireland, and for the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man, we tell you the delivery cost before you pay, so message us your postcode on the Contact page or our Get a quote page. Choose Saver and these transfers leave us after 6 working days; Express brings that down to 2.
Is there a quicker turnaround for these transfers?
Work back from the day you need them. Express takes 2 working days to get DTF Transfers out, against 6 on Saver, and costs £36.80 on the opening option rather than £31.78. Add up to three working days for the courier, plus any time you need to finish the file. Cutting it fine? Put your date in the question box before you order.
How many pixels does a photo need to print well on these transfers?
Roughly 2,205 pixels across and 3,937 down for a 560 × 1000 mm design, which is 100 dpi. That is plenty for something people read from a few metres away; anywhere from 100 to 150 dpi at full size will do. Text and logos are safest as vector art, which never goes fuzzy. Pictures saved from a website or social media are nearly always too small, and our file check will point out any that could print blurred.
Which file formats can I upload?
A PDF made at the size you ordered works best, with the fonts embedded or turned into outlines. AI, EPS and SVG are fine too, as are high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF images. Word, PowerPoint or Canva designs can be used, but save them out as a full quality PDF where you can. Attach up to 3 files of up to 25 MB each on the product page, or order first and send them afterwards; we email you a link. Make the artwork for these transfers the same size as the one you order, such as 560 × 1000 mm.
Our wording is not finished yet. Can I still pay now and send it later?
Yes. Pay now and add the file afterwards: uploading after ordering is allowed, so you do not have to wait for the final version. If a volunteer, friend or designer is preparing it, they can send the finished file to you to upload, or get in touch through our Contact page quoting your order number. Nothing goes to print until the file arrives and has been checked, so if there is a date to hit, get the artwork over as soon as you can. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
Will anyone look at my file before it is printed?
Every file gets a human check for size, bleed and resolution, and we contact you about any problem before printing. Nobody can know your details better than you, so double-check names, numbers and dates: we print what is supplied, and work begins once the order and file are confirmed. Make the artwork for these transfers the same size as the one you order, such as 560 × 1000 mm.
I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?
You will not be left guessing. Each uploaded file is opened and looked over by a member of the team, and problems such as low-resolution pictures, no bleed or the wrong page size are sent back to you to fix before printing. If fixing it sounds like a chore, choose typesetting for £15: we lay out your text and logo, show you a first draft, then make up to two rounds of changes. We print these transfers on DTF Transfer Sheet.
Can a volunteer order without setting up an account?
Yes. There is a guest checkout, so a one-off order does not need a login. Payment is by debit or credit card, processed by Stripe. The confirmation email that follows lists everything bought and what was paid, which helps when you claim the money back from the group. What the page shows is what the group pays, plus any delivery. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
Who looks after me once I have bought DTF Transfers?
You deal with FatPrint the whole way through. Once you order, somebody checks the artwork, DTF Transfers are printed specially for your order, and a courier delivers them with a tracking link by email. Need to ask something along the way? Use the question box here or the Contact page and a real person answers.
I am not sure which options to pick for these transfers. Can someone advise me?
Of course. Tell us three things: where these transfers will go, whether it is for one day or for years, and your deadline. Send that through the question box on this page or the Contact page, and a member of the team will suggest options. If what you need is outside the options listed, the Get a quote page lets you describe it and get a price. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
Can I send these transfers back if I no longer need them?
Not for a change of mind. These transfers are made for your order, and goods made to your specification fall outside the 14-day cancellation right (reg. 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). You can still cancel and get all your money back before production begins. Anything faulty, damaged or wrong is covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and we reprint it or refund you. Before delivery, these transfers cost from £31.78.
Can I buy DTF Transfers and other products in the same basket?
Yes. Different products, sizes and quantities can all sit in one basket, each as its own line with its own options. Delivery is charged once for the whole order, £7.95 to the UK mainland, and it is free when the goods reach £100 after discount codes. If two items share a design, choose the option to reuse artwork from another basket item and there is no second artwork fee. Before delivery, these transfers cost from £31.78.
Our club needs a big batch of transfers, or an odd size. Can you price it?
Our Get a quote page is the place, and it also handles delivery to Northern Ireland and the islands. For anything the page cannot do, tell us the size, number, material, date and postcode on Get a quote, add a file if you have one, and we email a price back. Before delivery, these transfers cost from £31.78.
Which cards do you take, and is paying online safe?
You pay by debit or credit card when you check out, and you can do it as a guest without making an account. Card details are handled by Stripe, a specialist payment company, so the full card number never reaches us or sits on our system. Printing starts after payment goes through and your file has been checked. If your group needs a price agreed before anyone pays, ask for a quote instead. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each transfer is made to order for you.
We need a few different designs. Do they each need their own order?
One checkout covers the lot. Add a basket line for every design, attach the right file to each, then pay once. You pay a single delivery charge of £7.95 for the whole order, or nothing if the goods add up to £100 or more. Repeating one design on another line? Choose the artwork choice that points to a file already in the basket, and no second design fee is charged. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
Can I swap my file once I have paid?
It depends on timing. Until production begins, a new file can replace the old one, or the order can be cancelled with a full refund; once it has begun, nothing can be changed. Message us straight away on the Contact page with your order number. Items printed exactly as supplied or designed do not count as faulty, so check names, numbers and dates first. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each transfer is made to order for you.
Next year we will want the same transfer again. Is reordering easy?
Yes. Treat it as a fresh order of the same item with the same settings, and attach the file you used last time. Keep a copy of the print file in a shared folder so whoever orders next year can find it. Change any details that have moved on, such as a new email address or this year's date, before uploading. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
Do I have to register before I can buy?
No. Guest checkout is fine, and card payments go through Stripe, so a debit card or a credit card both work. If you choose to open an account while checking out, My Account keeps your past orders. Guest or not, you get an email confirming the order and another with tracking once it is sent. Before delivery, these transfers cost from £31.78.
Our treasurer needs a receipt for the accounts. What do we get?
Every order gets a confirmation email listing what was bought, the options chosen and the amount paid, and a club, school or small firm can file that as its record of payment. What you pay for these transfers is the price shown on the page plus any delivery charge, nothing more. If your accounts need a particular kind of invoice, ask through the Contact page before you order and we will tell you what we can provide. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
The parcel turned up damaged. How do I sort it out?
Look everything over when it arrives. If something is damaged or missing, contact us within 48 hours through the contact form, with your order number and photos of both the item and the packaging. Please keep hold of it until we reply; we then sort out a reprint or a refund. Your legal rights stay the same, as the returns page sets out. Before delivery, these transfers cost from £31.78.
Will my logo colours come out the same as on screen?
Very close, but not always identical. A screen glows, print reflects light, so a small difference is normal. Sending CMYK artwork keeps it nearest; RGB is changed to CMYK before printing and the brightest greens, blues and oranges can look a touch flatter. For an exact brand colour, give us the Pantone reference and we get as close as the material allows. We print these transfers on DTF Transfer Sheet.
I have never ordered printing before. Do I need to know the technical words?
No. A person on our team checks every file for size, bleed and resolution and tells you in plain words if anything needs changing. Or pick typesetting for £15 and we lay out your words and logo for you, with a first draft and two rounds of changes. For reference, these transfers measure 560 × 1000 mm.
Which sides printed is used on DTF Transfers?
There is one sides printed setting here: single Sided, fitted as standard. One side means the design appears on the front only. Two sides puts print on both faces, handy when people approach from either direction, for example a flag on a pole or a sign that faces two ways. Pick your size and quantity on the page to see the total and the days it takes. We print these transfers on DTF Transfer Sheet.
Can I change the substrate on DTF Transfers?
It is the board or sheet your print is applied to. On DTF Transfers there is no choice to make: DTF transfer sheet comes as standard. Your size, quantity and turnaround settle the final figure. Still torn between two? Type the question into the box on this page and a person will reply.
