Presentation folder printing for the moment you hand something over: a quote to a homeowner, a welcome pack to a new tenant, a proposal across a meeting table, a prospectus at a school open evening. Why presentation folder printing is worth it
Six loose sheets handed over in a stack look like homework. The same six sheets in a folder with your name on the front look like a proper offer. That is most of the reason people bother. An estate agent sending a valuation, a builder leaving a quote on the kitchen table, a recruiter briefing a candidate, a college handing out course packs: a folder makes the paperwork feel finished and stops it drifting apart in someone's bag.
Two kinds of presentation folder printing
- Presentation Folders: the everyday option. Card is 350gsm or 400gsm silk. Go A4 (spine-free, 4 mm or 5 mm) or A5 (5 mm).
- Interlocking Presentation Folders: one sheet of 350gsm silk card, die-cut so the pocket tabs slot into each other. More shapes to pick from: A4 flat or with a 3, 4, 5 or 10 mm spine; A5 flat or 3 mm; and DL at 6 mm.
Either type can be printed on the outside alone or on both faces, and either can have slits to hold a business card, so your details never get separated from the paperwork.
Choosing a spine for presentation folder printing
The spine is the flat strip at the fold, and it decides how much the folder swallows. No spine is fine for a handful of sheets, like a two-page quote and a price list. A spine of 3 to 5 mm copes with a thicker pack. The 10 mm spine on A4 interlocking folders takes loose sheets and a slim brochure together. As for size, an A4 folder holds A4 sheets flat, an A5 folder holds A5 sheets or A4 folded in half, and a DL interlocking folder is handy for leaflets and tickets.
Card, finish and quantity
Silk card is smooth with a gentle sheen. 400gsm feels stiffer in the hand than 350gsm. Lamination guards against scuffs and fingerprints: matt looks calm and grown-up, gloss makes colours brighter. You can also leave it unlaminated. Quantities are 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1,000, so presentation folder printing works for a single big pitch as well as a year's supply. The size table near the top of the page shows live prices for popular options.
Artwork for presentation folder printing
- Folders are printed flat and then folded, so set your design up as the flat shape with the pockets and folds in the right place.
- Add 3 mm bleed on every edge and keep text at least 3 mm inside the trim.
- Put your key message on the front cover. The back and the pockets are for contact details and supporting bits.
- If you print inside, remember the pockets will cover the lower part of each inside panel.
Upload a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service (typesetting from your text, design from a brief, or a logo redraw), which includes 1 design and 2 rounds of changes. A real person checks every uploaded file for free. The artwork guidelines explain file set-up.
Presentation folder printing times and delivery
Each product page shows its own production days for saver, standard and express, counted in working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. All folders are made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. Read the delivery page.
What to put inside
A folder is only as good as what is in it. Order it alongside booklets and brochures, letterheads for the covering letter, and business cards for the slot. One order of presentation folder printing plus those three and your next pitch is ready to hand over.
Presentation Folders: questions answered
What is an interlocking folder?
A folder cut from one sheet of card, where the pockets tuck and slot together without any glue. It is sold in DL, A5 and A4, and the spine can be anything from flat up to 10 mm.
How big a spine does our folder need?
A flat folder with no spine is right for a handful of sheets. A spine of 3 to 5 mm copes with a thicker bundle. The 10 mm option, on A4 interlocking folders, fits a small brochure plus papers.
Can the folder hold a business card?
Yes. Both folder products have an option to add card slots, so your business card sits neatly in the pocket beside the papers when you hand it over.
What is the smallest order of printed folders?
Ten. After that you can pick 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1,000. A run of ten is handy for a single pitch, a funding bid or one important meeting.
Will you check my folder artwork?
A person looks at every file you upload, checking the images are sharp enough, the size is right and there is bleed. With no artwork of your own, pay for a full design and we will lay the folder out from your brief. Paid design includes one first draft and two rounds of changes.
How long do printed folders take?
The product page lists saver, standard and express times in working days until the folders leave us, counted from artwork confirmation. Mainland addresses pay £7.95 postage, or nothing once goods reach £100 after discounts. Mainland Scottish Highlands add £10, and islands and Northern Ireland are quoted.
