Overview

Our nursery and day care banner printing is for anyone who needs a school banner that looks sharp and lasts the job.

Nursery and day care banner printing: material and finishing

The material is 440gsm PVC, the standard tough banner vinyl. On top of that you can pick eyelets in plastic or metal (metal is the tougher choice for banners that stay up outside), hemmed edges, where the edge is folded and welded for strength (worth having on anything going outside) and a bag or two of cable ties, so the fixings turn up with the banner.

Where it works

Made for nursery and day care fences, gates and entrances. Colleges use them across entrances on open days and at freshers fairs. Schools hang them on the front railings for open evenings, admissions and good news.

Sizes

For nursery and day care banner printing: 13 sizes, from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) up to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm). Railings and gates are the usual spot, so measure between the posts. A banner that sits inside the posts looks neater than one that overhangs.

Cable ties through the eyelets are the quickest way up on railings and fences; on a wall, use screws with washers or hooks.

Timing

Send a print-ready PDF, build it in the online designer, or pay for our artwork service (you get 1 design and 2 rounds of changes). Whichever you pick, a person checks the file before it prints. Standard production is 4 working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Express gets it done from 2 working days. Saver takes 6 and is there if you are not in a rush. Your nursery and day care banner printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK.

We charge £7.95 to send it anywhere on the UK mainland, and nothing once your goods come to £100 or more after discounts. The Highlands add £10, and addresses in Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Scilly or the Isle of Wight get a quote. The sizes over 3 m on any side go by specialist courier, which adds £15 once per order. Full details are on the delivery page.

Questions

Quick answers about nursery and day care banner printing.

How big should a banner be on our nursery fence so families spot it from the street?

A fence facing the road suits 10 ft × 3 ft (3048 × 914 mm) or 8 ft × 3 ft (2438 × 914 mm), and drivers going past can read both. If the banner is for the front gate or the door where parents wait at pick-up, 6 ft × 3 ft (1829 × 914 mm) is a tidier fit.

Can I order several banners at once?

Yes. Anything from 1 up to 99 is priced on this page. The price per piece usually drops as the number goes up, which helps clubs and shops ordering in bulk. Mainland UK delivery adds £7.95 to the basket, and nothing once the goods reach £100 after any discount code.

Can I check the cost before I order?

It starts at £34.60, the cheapest combination, and changes as you pick options. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Spend £100 on goods (design fees are not counted) and UK mainland delivery is free; otherwise it is £7.95 once.

Is anything added to the price of my nursery and day care banner order at checkout?

Only delivery, where it applies. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout. The £34.60 starting price for your nursery and day care banner order is the full price of the goods.

Will someone look at my file before the nursery and day care banner is printed?

Yes. A person checks every file you upload before printing starts, looking at resolution, bleed and whether the text will come out cleanly. Paid help is there too: a clean layout from your text and logo (£15), a design from your brief (£35) or a logo redraw (£30), each with one first draft and two rounds of changes.

What can I choose when ordering a nursery and day care banner?

You can set 13 sizes from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), material (440gsm PVC), eyelets (plastic eyelets or metal eyelets), hemming (hemmed edges or none) and cable ties (none, 1 bag or 2 bags). The price updates with each choice, so you can compare before paying.

Asked by buyers

How cheaply can I get hold of Nursery and Day Care Banners?

Picked the way the page first loads, with 440gsm PVC and 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm), Nursery and Day Care Banners come to £34.60. Any other mix of options, a faster turnaround included, gets its own price the moment you choose it, and that figure is what you pay at checkout. Only delivery is left to add. On its own the opening price of £34.60 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero.

How far ahead should I order a banner for a nursery?

Count back from the day. Saver, the cheapest option, needs 6 working days before it leaves us, and Express needs 2. Then allow one to three working days in the courier van. The clock starts when your order and file are both in and confirmed, so get names, wording and photos sorted first. Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays are not counted. Choose Saver and these banners leave us after 6 working days; Express brings that down to 2. The biggest sizes of these banners go by specialist courier, which adds £15 once to the order.

Which turnaround speeds can I choose for Nursery and Day Care Banners?

Allow 6 working days on Saver, 4 on Standard or 2 on Express before Nursery and Day Care Banners are handed to the courier, based on the options the page opens with. Weekends and bank holidays are not counted, and nothing starts until the order is paid and the artwork is confirmed. Pick another size or material and the days beside each speed update, sometimes by a day. After it leaves us, the courier normally delivers in one to three working days and you get the tracking link by email.

Which artwork services are offered with Nursery and Day Care Banners?

Several routes, all chosen under Artwork on this page. Send your own finished file (no charge), we set your words and logo on a tidy layout, called typesetting (£15), we design it from your brief (£35), we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30) or we create a brand new logo (£50). Typesetting and design from a brief each come with one first draft and two rounds of changes. The fee is the same whatever quantity you order and shows separately in the basket. There is also a free online designer if you want to build it yourself. On this page, Nursery and Day Care Banners start from £34.60.

I am making my own design. How do I lay out the file for these banners?

Build the page at the exact size you are ordering, or at a scale such as 1:10 if the file would be huge, and carry the background colour or picture all the way out to the edges. Words and logos belong 50 mm or more inside every edge. The hem is folded back there and the eyelet holes go through close to the border. Somewhere between 100 and 150 dpi at full size is plenty, since a banner is read from a few steps back. Designing online instead? The editor marks where the eyelets and the safe zone are. For reference, Nursery and Day Care Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Is the online designer free, and how do I use it?

Pick a starting layout, swap in your own words, logo and pictures, and move things around until it looks right. While you work, the tool flags sample text you forgot to change, small text, items outside the safe area and blurry images, before you can finish. It is free to use and the on-screen watermark does not print. What you see is what we print. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

Where do people usually put up a banner for a nursery?

Anywhere there is something to tie the eyelets to. For a nursery that is often the school railings, the main gate, the playing field fence or the back wall of the hall. As a starting point, 6 ft × 3 ft (1829 × 914 mm) at £51.41 fits most fences and walls. On painted walls indoors, hang it from hooks or a cord and skip the sticky tape. Outside, use every eyelet and take it down if a gale is forecast.

Does rain get through these banners?

It keeps the weather out: 440gsm PVC is waterproof banner vinyl built for use outside. Its life outdoors comes down to exposure. Strong sun and gusty wind age it faster, while hemming, metal rings and a fixing in every hole keep it in good shape for longer. For a very windy spot, such as an open fence line or scaffold, choose mesh so the wind can pass through. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. On this page, Nursery and Day Care Banners start from £34.60.

How do I hang these banners so the result looks tidy?

Start with the four corners so the banner hangs straight, then fill in along the top and bottom, using every eyelet. Tighten each tie until the slack is gone and stop there, so the banner is not stretched. Cable ties, bungee cords or rope all do the job. On an exposed railing, bungees stretch slightly when a gust hits, which takes the shock off solid PVC. Have a look after the first breezy day and swap any tie that has broken. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

Could you price an 8 ft × 3 ft (2438 × 914 mm) banner for me?

From £61.50, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. On its opening option, Nursery and Day Care Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

How can a small charity keep the cost of these banners down?

Three things help most: a modest size, 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at £34.60; the Saver option, which costs least and needs 6 working days; and wording without a date, so it can be used again. Making the design yourself on screen is free. Delivery is free once the goods reach £100, so a few groups sharing one order can save the £7.95. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. On its opening option, Nursery and Day Care Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

And the largest banner, 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm): how much is that one?

From £153.25, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. That clears the £100 mark on its own, so UK mainland delivery costs nothing. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. On its opening option, Nursery and Day Care Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

How many Nursery and Day Care Banners can I buy at one time?

Anything from 1 to 99. The quantity choices on the page run 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, and upwards. The figure shown is for the whole batch, not for one, so divide it by the number you picked to see the cost of each. If you need more than 99, send the size, number and date through our Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. For reference, Nursery and Day Care Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?

No surprises: what the page shows for these banners is the goods figure you pay at checkout. Delivery is the one extra, £7.95 to a UK mainland address, and it drops away when the goods reach £100 after discounts. Paid artwork help shows up as its own basket line, so you can check each amount before paying. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

I am not a business. Can I buy just one of these banners?

Of course. Anyone can order, with no trade account and no minimum beyond one. Prices for Nursery and Day Care Banners begin at £34.60, checkout works without an account and you pay by card. Parents, clubs, churches and small shops order single items all the time. On its own the opening price of £34.60 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero.

Our event is close. Can Nursery and Day Care Banners be rushed?

Yes. Choose Express and Nursery and Day Care Banners can be on the way in 2 working days on the opening option, for £46.14, where Saver is £34.60 and takes 6 days. Then give the courier one to three working days, and send the artwork with the order, because the clock does not run until the file is sorted. If the date is really tight, message us on the Contact page before paying and we will tell you honestly.

Someone else is putting our file together. How does it reach you?

Easiest route: they send the finished file to whoever placed the order, and it gets uploaded after ordering. Up to 3 files of 25 MB each are fine. They can also reach us through the Contact page, as long as they quote your order number so it lands on the right job. Production waits for the checked file, so a late file means a later dispatch date. If you have no file, you can build the design for these banners in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. On this page, Nursery and Day Care Banners start from £34.60.

Any tips on the wording for these banners?

Less is more. Aim for one main line that can be read from across the road or the hall, and add a name or date only if it matters. A handful of words, three to six, printed big will beat a full sentence printed small. Read every name through twice, because the banner is printed exactly as you send or design it. The online designer has ready-made layouts to start from. If you have no file, you can build the design for these banners in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. On this page, Nursery and Day Care Banners start from £34.60.

Can we have pictures of the family, the team or our products on these banners?

Yes. Put them in your own artwork, drop them into the online designer, or pick one of the design options and send them over. To fill 8 ft × 3 ft (2438 × 914 mm) edge to edge, a picture should be about 9,598 pixels wide for a good result at 100 dpi. Most phone camera shots are big enough. Pictures copied off Facebook, Instagram or a chat app usually lack the pixels, and the person checking your file will point out any that could look soft. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all.

How many pixels does a photo need to print well on these banners?

Big items seen from a distance only need 100 to 150 dpi at full size. So a 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm) layout wants about 11,811 by 7,874 pixels. Keep lettering and logos as vectors if you can. An image copied off a web page or a social post rarely has enough pixels; if yours looks likely to print soft, our file check flags it. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. On this page, Nursery and Day Care Banners start from £34.60.

Can I send a Word or Canva file for Nursery and Day Care Banners?

Word, PowerPoint and Canva are a fair place to start, but export a high quality PDF from them before uploading. Our first choice is always a PDF at the ordered size with fonts embedded or outlined, followed by AI, EPS or SVG, then high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF. You can add three files, each up to 25 MB, on this page, or upload them after ordering from the email we send. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). On this page, Nursery and Day Care Banners start from £34.60.

Once I finish designing these banners online, is the file mine to keep?

Two ways. Buy the file on its own: finish your design and pay £9.99 for the print-ready PDF, though you give up the right to cancel as soon as you start downloading it. Or order printing, and a full resolution PDF of the design travels with the order, waiting for you in your confirmation email and under My Account once you have paid. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60.

Can these banners be made to my own measurements?

Yes. Pick Custom size and type in what you need. The shortest side can be 300 mm, and the biggest piece is 5000 mm long by 3000 mm deep, landscape or portrait. You pay the price of the smallest listed size your measurements fit inside, so a slightly odd size costs no more than it needs to. Imperial or metric both work; switch the unit beside the size box. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Material choices for Nursery and Day Care Banners: 440gsm PVC.

We have a school fair coming up. Would these banners be suitable?

Yes. Tie them to railings, a fence or a gazebo, or stand them on an easel. If you are outside and the wind picks up, check the fixings again during the day. Leave time for making and delivery before the date of the fair. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60.

Would these banners look right inside a hall or a shop?

Yes. PVC hangs flat and the print comes out crisp, so it suits school halls, church halls, receptions, stage fronts and indoor events. If you would rather avoid PVC indoors, our PVC-free banners are made in the same sizes. Inside you can skip the ties altogether. Hang it by the eyelets from hooks or a length of cord, or use hanging strips that peel off cleanly. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. Material choices for Nursery and Day Care Banners: 440gsm PVC.

I run a small shop. Would these banners work on the front of it?

A cafe, salon, market stall or corner shop can put these banners to good use out front. A PVC banner on the fascia or railings is a fast way to shout about an opening or an offer. For scale, 6 ft 7 in × 3 ft 3 in (2000 × 1000 mm) is £58.26. Large or lit signs may need advertisement consent from the council, and your landlord may have a say. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. On its opening option, Nursery and Day Care Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

Can a club banner go up every weekend and come down again?

It can. Club secretaries often leave the season and dates off so one banner covers every home fixture. Tie every eyelet on the rail, take it down after the final whistle, let it dry if it has rained and roll it with the print facing out. For a windswept pitch, mesh takes less strain than solid PVC. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all.

Could we put these banners up on a building site or around works?

Short term or in a sheltered spot, a banner is fine. For weeks on open fencing, switch to mesh, which lets the wind through. Whoever puts them up should tie off every fixing point firmly and check again once the wind has been blowing. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60.

Our spot gets windy. Is a PVC banner going to cope?

Think of solid PVC stretched along open fencing as a sail. Every gust presses on the whole sheet, and all that force ends up in the eyelets and the ties. So use every eyelet, pull it firm without stretching it, look at the ties again after the first blustery spell, and bring it in if a storm is on the way. If it has to stay up for weeks somewhere exposed, mesh is the better buy because much of the wind blows through it. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. On this page, Nursery and Day Care Banners start from £34.60.

Cable Ties on Nursery and Day Care Banners: how do the choices differ?

The cable ties option has 3 settings: 2 bags, 1 bag or none. Add a bag or two of ties and you will not be hunting for them on the day you hang it. Do the four corners first, then work along every eyelet. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60.

Does the hemming option I choose make a difference to Nursery and Day Care Banners?

Hemming turns the edge over and welds it down, so the eyelets grip a double layer and the border is far less likely to rip. For anything facing the weather it is money well spent. For Nursery and Day Care Banners the list runs none or Hemmed Edges. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.

Which eyelets would you suggest for Nursery and Day Care Banners?

Eyelets are the little rings set into the border so a tie or bungee can go through. If it is staying outside for weeks or months, go for metal, which lasts longer than plastic. For Nursery and Day Care Banners the list runs metal eyelets or plastic eyelets. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.

How should I keep these banners between uses?

Make sure it is bone dry and clean, then roll it up loosely with the print on the outside, round a cardboard tube if one is handy. Try not to fold it, because sharp folds leave creases and the ink can crack along them. Snip off old cable ties before rolling so they do not press marks into the print, and store the roll in a dry cupboard well clear of radiators. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. For reference, Nursery and Day Care Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Could we bring these banners out again another time?

That depends on the wording. Leave off the year or the date, and it will be just as useful for next term. The banner material is made to be put up, taken down and rolled away again and again. Let it dry, roll it with the print outwards and keep it somewhere dry. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60.

Is it legal to hang these banners on a fence or building I do not own?

Only with the owner's say-so, so ask the landowner or building owner before anything goes up. In England, outdoor banners are adverts in the eyes of the 2007 Control of Advertisements Regulations. Plenty of temporary banners need no application, but the size, the location and how long it is left up all count. Your local council can tell you if you are in doubt. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each have similar rules of their own. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Material choices for Nursery and Day Care Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Who looks after me once I have bought Nursery and Day Care Banners?

FatPrint does, from start to finish. We take your order and payment, a person on our team checks your file, and Nursery and Day Care Banners are made to order for you rather than taken off a shelf. It then goes to you by courier, with tracking sent by email. Questions before or after ordering go through the box on this page or the Contact page, and a person replies.

We need a few different designs. Do they each need their own order?

No. Each design goes into the basket as a separate line with its own file or online design, and you pay for them all in one checkout. Delivery is counted once for the whole order and costs nothing when the goods reach £100. If two lines share the same artwork, pick the artwork option that reuses a file already in your basket, so any design fee is only paid once. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

Bleed and dpi mean nothing to me. Can I still get printing done?

Yes. You do not need any print knowledge to order Nursery and Day Care Banners. Send us your words and logo with the typesetting option (£15) and we build the layout, then you get a first draft and two rounds of changes. If you would rather make it yourself, the online designer checks the technical side as you go. Whatever you choose, a real person looks at the file before printing.

Can I design these banners first and show the committee before we pay?

You can. Designing online costs nothing until you order, so make a draft, show it to the group and tweak it as often as you like. The on-screen watermark is only there on the preview and is never printed. The designer flags things like small text or low-resolution photos as you go, but it cannot catch a wrong date, so have a second person read it. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

I sell at a weekly market. Which banner fits along the front of a stall?

Look at the long, shallow sizes: 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) from £34.60 and 4 ft 11 in × 1 ft 8 in (1500 × 500 mm) from £35.55 sit well along a table front or the top rail of a gazebo. Measure the width of your stall first, then tie through the eyelets to the frame. Put your stall name in big letters and one line about what you sell; that is what shoppers take in as they walk past. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. On its opening option, Nursery and Day Care Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.
