Overview

Christmas banner printing without the faff: you choose the size and finish, the price shows as you go, and we print it to order.

Getting the size right

Sizing christmas banner printing: 13 sizes, from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) up to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm). Indoors, measure the wall or the space above the top table. Outdoors, a banner on a front fence needs to read from the pavement, so give the main words plenty of height.

Materials for christmas banner printing

It is printed on 440gsm PVC, the standard tough banner vinyl. You can also add eyelets in plastic or metal (metal is the tougher choice for banners that stay up outside), hemmed edges, where the edge is folded and welded for strength (worth having on anything going outside) and a bag or two of cable ties, so the fixings turn up with the banner.

Indoors, removable hooks or tape through the eyelets work well and leave no marks on a hired hall.

Who orders these

Built for Christmas events, shop windows, fairs and seasonal displays. Families hang them over the front door, across the garden fence or along the back wall of a hired hall. Pubs and function rooms keep a few for parties they host.

From file to doorstep

Send a print-ready PDF, build it in the online designer, or pay for our artwork service (you get 1 design and 2 rounds of changes). Whichever you pick, a person checks the file before it prints. Standard production is 4 working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Express gets it done from 2 working days. Saver takes 6 and is there if you are not in a rush. Every christmas banner printing order is printed to order and sent straight to you from the UK.

Put up outdoors, a banner, board or flag counts as an advertisement under the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007. Most small ones need no application, but the council can tell you if yours does.

Delivery to a UK mainland address is £7.95, or free once the order passes £100 after any discount (artwork fees are not counted). The Highlands add £10, and addresses in Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Scilly or the Isle of Wight get a quote. The sizes over 3 m on any side go by specialist courier, which adds £15 once per order. Full details are on the delivery page.

Questions

Quick answers about christmas banner printing.

We are decorating the community centre for Christmas. Which banner size should we get?

Across an outside wall or fence, 8 ft × 3 ft (2438 × 914 mm) or 6 ft × 3 ft (1829 × 914 mm) is the popular choice. Over a door, on a gate or hanging from the front of a table at the Christmas fair, 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) fits better. Check your measurements and leave some slack at the corners for tying.

Can the Christmas banner have our names, a date or photos on it?

Yes. Upload a finished design, or pick artwork help in the options (design from your brief is £35) and send us the names, dates and photos. Photos need to be sharp and high resolution to look good at banner size; our file check flags any that could print soft.

Who handles my Christmas banner order?

FatPrint takes the order and a person checks your file before anything is made. Each banner is made to order for you, then sent by courier with tracking. If anything needs changing, message us from the Contact page.

Is there a discount if I buy more?

Usually, yes: the more you order, the less each one tends to cost. Anything from 1 up to 99 is priced on this page for your Christmas banner order. Spend £100 on goods (design fees are not counted) and UK mainland delivery is free; otherwise it is £7.95 once.

How do I find out what my banner will cost?

Choose the options on this page and the total updates straight away. It opens on the cheapest combination, £34.60. What the page shows is what you pay for the goods at checkout.

Will the price go up when I reach the checkout?

No. The figure on the page is the one you pay at checkout. The £34.60 starting price for your Christmas banner order is the full price of the goods. Any delivery charge is shown before you pay.

Do you check the design I upload?

Every upload is looked at by a person first: resolution, bleed and text size all get checked. If anything needs fixing on your Christmas banner order, we tell you before it is made. Paid help is there too: a clean layout from your text and logo (£15), a design from your brief (£35) or a logo redraw (£30), each with one first draft and two rounds of changes.

Asked by buyers

How much will Christmas Banners set me back?

£34.60 is where Christmas Banners start, set up as 440gsm PVC and 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) on the Saver speed. Change the size, material, extras, quantity or speed and the total on the page moves straight away. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted).

If I buy Christmas Banners today, when will they leave you?

As the page first opens, the speeds for Christmas Banners are Express 2 working days, Standard 4 and Saver 6, counting Monday to Friday and skipping bank holidays. The count begins once we have your order and a file ready to print. A bigger size or a different material can move it by a day either way; each speed shows its own days as you choose. Tracking arrives by email on the day it ships, and the courier usually takes one to three working days from there.

How far ahead should I order a banner for the Christmas season?

Count back from the day. Saver, the cheapest option, needs 6 working days before it leaves us, and Express needs 2. Then allow one to three working days in the courier van. The clock starts when your order and file are both in and confirmed, so get names, wording and photos sorted first. Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays are not counted. The biggest sizes of these banners go by specialist courier, which adds £15 once to the order. Choose Saver and these banners leave us after 6 working days; Express brings that down to 2. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Does banner artwork need bleed the way a flyer does?

Think of it as a margin more than a bleed. Run the background right off every edge, then pull every word and logo a good 50 mm inwards, clear of the folded hem and the eyelets. Set the file up at full size or an exact scale like 1:10, with images between 100 and 150 dpi once scaled up. The online editor draws the eyelets and the safe area on screen so you can see where they fall. If you have no file, you can build the design for these banners in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. On its opening option, Christmas Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

Could I lay out these banners myself on your website?

Yes. Start the designer from this page, choose a layout to begin with, then drop in your text, logo and photos and drag them where you want. It checks as you go and warns you about leftover sample text, lettering that is too small, anything outside the safe area and images too low in resolution, all before you finish. Designing and previewing costs nothing. The watermark you see on screen is never printed; once you finish, it goes into the basket. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Which is the smallest and which the biggest banner I can order here?

Smallest: 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm), from £34.60. Biggest: 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), from £153.25. 10 more are listed in between, each priced on the cheapest options. Need something in between? Type in your own width and height, anywhere from 300 mm to 5000 by 3000 mm. Not sure which? Mark the space out with tape or string first and stand back to look. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Which size of Christmas Banners gets noticed from across the street?

Grab a tape measure and stand where your visitors will stand. If they are walking past a few metres away, a modest size does the job; if they are across a car park or a road, go bigger. Choices here go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm) at the big end. Somewhere in between? A made-to-measure piece can be as small as 300 mm or as large as 5000 by 3000 mm. On its opening option, Christmas Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

Where do people usually put up a banner for the Christmas season?

Anywhere there is something to tie the eyelets to. For the Christmas season that is often a marquee frame, the front of a stage, crowd barriers, a field fence or a wall at the venue. As a starting point, 6 ft × 3 ft (1829 × 914 mm) at £51.41 fits most fences and walls. On painted walls indoors, hang it from hooks or a cord and skip the sticky tape. Outside, use every eyelet and take it down if a gale is forecast.

Will these banners survive being left outside?

Rain is not a problem. The 440gsm PVC used here is a solid vinyl that water runs straight off, and it is meant for outdoor jobs such as shop fronts, club railings, walls and fetes. Sun, wind and the way it is tied up decide how many months it looks good. A hem round the edge, metal eyelets rather than plastic, and every hole tied all make a real difference. Where it faces a strong wind on open fencing or scaffolding, mesh copes better because the air goes through. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. For reference, Christmas Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Is there a knack to tying up these banners?

Corners go first, which keeps it level, then the rest of the eyelets along the top and bottom edges. Pull each fixing just firm enough to take up the slack without stretching the banner. Cable ties, bungees and rope all work; bungees have a bit of stretch, useful for solid PVC on a windy railing. Check it again after the first gusty day and replace anything that has snapped. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. On its opening option, Christmas Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

How much does an 8 ft × 3 ft (2438 × 914 mm) banner cost?

From £61.50, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. For reference, Christmas Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Is there a minimum quantity for these banners?

The smallest order is 1 and the largest listed is 99; the list starts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and carries on from there. The price on the page covers every item in that quantity. To compare two quantities fairly, split each total by its number. A bigger run than the list allows can be priced separately on our Get a quote page. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. On this page, Christmas Banners start from £34.60.

Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?

The only thing that can join the goods price is delivery; the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted). If you pick a paid design option, it sits in the basket as a separate line with its own fee, so every penny is listed before you pay. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

How much for the biggest size, 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm)?

From £153.25, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. That clears the £100 mark on its own, so UK mainland delivery costs nothing. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. For reference, Christmas Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

We are a school PTA on a tight budget. How do we get a banner for the summer fair as cheaply as possible?

Start with the smallest size, 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm), from £34.60, and the Saver turnaround, which is the lowest price and takes 6 working days before it is sent. Putting the design together yourself on screen costs nothing. Leave the year off so it can go up again next summer. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Can a private person buy a single banner?

Yes. One is enough, and you do not need a business name or an account to check out. The opening price is £34.60, and any bank card will do. On its own the opening price of £34.60 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A person still checks your file before it is printed, just as for a big order. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. On its opening option, Christmas Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

Is there a quicker turnaround for these banners?

Work back from the day you need them. Express takes 2 working days to get Christmas Banners out, against 6 on Saver, and costs £46.14 on the opening option rather than £34.60. Add up to three working days for the courier, plus any time you need to finish the file. Cutting it fine? Put your date in the question box before you order.

I live in the Scottish Highlands. Will Christmas Banners cost more to send?

The whole UK is covered. Outside it, sadly, we cannot deliver. Mainland addresses in the Highlands pay one extra £10 on the order, even when delivery would otherwise be free. For Northern Ireland, and for the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man, we tell you the delivery cost before you pay, so message us your postcode on the Contact page or our Get a quote page. Choose Saver and these banners leave us after 6 working days; Express brings that down to 2. The biggest sizes of these banners go by specialist courier, which adds £15 once to the order. On its opening option, Christmas Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?

You will not be left guessing. Each uploaded file is opened and looked over by a member of the team, and problems such as low-resolution pictures, no bleed or the wrong page size are sent back to you to fix before printing. If fixing it sounds like a chore, choose typesetting for £15: we lay out your text and logo, show you a first draft, then make up to two rounds of changes. If you have no file, you can build the design for these banners in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. On this page, Christmas Banners start from £34.60.

Can we have pictures of the family, the team or our products on these banners?

Yes. Put them in your own artwork, drop them into the online designer, or pick one of the design options and send them over. To fill 8 ft × 3 ft (2438 × 914 mm) edge to edge, a picture should be about 9,598 pixels wide for a good result at 100 dpi. Most phone camera shots are big enough. Pictures copied off Facebook, Instagram or a chat app usually lack the pixels, and the person checking your file will point out any that could look soft. If you have no file, you can build the design for these banners in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

How tall do the letters need to be so people can read these banners from a distance?

Start from how far back your readers will be. Capital letters 25 mm tall are good for roughly 3 m, so 240 mm capitals reach somewhere near 29 m. On a banner measuring 6 ft × 3 ft (1829 × 914 mm), that is one line of text once a 50 mm border is kept all round, leaving 814 mm of height. Add a smaller second line only if you really need it, and pick a thick, plain font. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). On this page, Christmas Banners start from £34.60.

Will anyone look at my file before it is printed?

Every file gets a human check for size, bleed and resolution, and we contact you about any problem before printing. With the online designer, what you see on screen is what gets printed. Nobody can know your details better than you, so double-check names, numbers and dates: we print what is supplied, and work begins once the order and file are confirmed. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all.

Once I finish designing these banners online, is the file mine to keep?

Yes. Order printing with an online design and a full resolution PDF comes with it; after payment you can download it from your confirmation email or from My Account. Just want the file? Finish the design and buy the print-ready PDF on its own for £9.99. As digital content, it cannot be cancelled once the download begins. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm). Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. For reference, Christmas Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Would these banners look right inside a hall or a shop?

Yes. PVC hangs flat and the print comes out crisp, so it suits school halls, church halls, receptions, stage fronts and indoor events. If you would rather avoid PVC indoors, our PVC-free banners are made in the same sizes. Inside you can skip the ties altogether. Hang it by the eyelets from hooks or a length of cord, or use hanging strips that peel off cleanly. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. On this page, Christmas Banners start from £34.60.

I run a small shop. Would these banners work on the front of it?

That works well. Tie a PVC banner to the fascia or a railing to announce a launch, a sale or something new you now offer. As a guide, 6 ft 7 in × 3 ft 3 in (2000 × 1000 mm) costs £58.26. Ask your landlord first, and the local council too if the sign is big or illuminated, as some shop signs need advertisement consent. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Our sports club wants to put these banners up on match days and take them down afterwards. Is that too much wear?

Yes, that is the kind of use it is made for. Tie it to the pitch-side rail through the eyelets, then snip or untie the ties at the end of the day and roll it up with the print on the outside. On a very exposed ground, mesh is kinder to the ties because wind passes through it. Keep it dry and rolled between fixtures and it will be ready for the next home game. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

We have a school fair coming up. Would these banners be suitable?

They work well fixed to railings, fencing, a gazebo or an easel. Outdoors, look at the fixings again if it turns windy. Order with enough time for the making and the courier before the event. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. On its opening option, Christmas Banners leaves us after 6 working days on Saver.

Our spot gets windy. Is a PVC banner going to cope?

Think of solid PVC stretched along open fencing as a sail. Every gust presses on the whole sheet, and all that force ends up in the eyelets and the ties. So use every eyelet, pull it firm without stretching it, look at the ties again after the first blustery spell, and bring it in if a storm is on the way. If it has to stay up for weeks somewhere exposed, mesh is the better buy because much of the wind blows through it. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Which eyelets would you suggest for Christmas Banners?

The eyelets option has 2 settings: metal eyelets or plastic eyelets. Eyelets are the little rings set into the border so a tie or bungee can go through. If it is staying outside for weeks or months, go for metal, which lasts longer than plastic. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. For reference, Christmas Banners are listed in 12 sizes, the smallest being 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Cable Ties on Christmas Banners: how do the choices differ?

Add a bag or two of ties and you will not be hunting for them on the day you hang it. Do the four corners first, then work along every eyelet. For Christmas Banners the list runs 2 bags, 1 bag or none. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.

Does the hemming option I choose make a difference to Christmas Banners?

The hemming option has 2 settings: none or Hemmed Edges. Hemming turns the edge over and welds it down, so the eyelets grip a double layer and the border is far less likely to rip. For anything facing the weather it is money well spent. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all.

How should I keep these banners between uses?

Make sure it is bone dry and clean, then roll it up loosely with the print on the outside, round a cardboard tube if one is handy. Try not to fold it, because sharp folds leave creases and the ink can crack along them. Snip off old cable ties before rolling so they do not press marks into the print, and store the roll in a dry cupboard well clear of radiators.

Could we bring these banners out again another time?

That depends on the wording. Leave off the year or the date, and it will be just as useful for next December. The banner material is made to be put up, taken down and rolled away again and again. Let it dry, roll it with the print outwards and keep it somewhere dry. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC.

Can a volunteer order without setting up an account?

Yes. There is a guest checkout, so a one-off order does not need a login. Payment is by debit or credit card, processed by Stripe. The confirmation email that follows lists everything bought and what was paid, which helps when you claim the money back from the group. What the page shows is what the group pays, plus any delivery. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. On this page, Christmas Banners start from £34.60.

We need a few different designs. Do they each need their own order?

One checkout covers the lot. Add a basket line for every design, attach the right file to each, then pay once. You pay a single delivery charge of £7.95 for the whole order, or nothing if the goods add up to £100 or more. Repeating one design on another line? Choose the artwork choice that points to a file already in the basket, and no second design fee is charged. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all.

Can I swap my file once I have paid?

It depends on timing. Until production begins, a new file can replace the old one, or the order can be cancelled with a full refund; once it has begun, nothing can be changed. Message us straight away on the Contact page with your order number. Items printed exactly as supplied or designed do not count as faulty, so check names, numbers and dates first. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

Our club needs a big batch of banners, or an odd size. Can you price it?

Check the page first: it takes your own measurements, anywhere from 300 mm to 5000 × 3000 mm, and prices them there and then. For anything the page cannot do, tell us the size, number, material, date and postcode on Get a quote, add a file if you have one, and we email a price back. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.60.

The parcel turned up damaged. How do I sort it out?

Look everything over when it arrives. If something is damaged or missing, contact us within 48 hours through the contact form, with your order number and photos of both the item and the packaging. Please keep hold of it until we reply; we then sort out a reprint or a refund. Your legal rights stay the same, as the returns page sets out. The biggest sizes of these banners go by specialist courier, which adds £15 once to the order. Choose Saver and these banners leave us after 6 working days; Express brings that down to 2. Material choices for Christmas Banners: 440gsm PVC.

Can I change the material on Christmas Banners?

It is what your design gets printed onto. On Christmas Banners there is no choice to make: 440gsm PVC is what we use. Your size, quantity and turnaround settle the final figure. Switch between the options on the page and the total moves with you, so comparing costs is quick.

It has got muddy. How can I clean these banners?

A bowl of warm water with a drop of gentle washing-up liquid and a soft sponge or cloth is all you need. Rinse with clean water afterwards and let it dry, hanging up or laid flat. Keep away from solvents, scouring pads and pressure washers, as they can strip the ink or scuff the surface. Only roll it up once it is completely dry, otherwise it may mark or start to smell. We print these banners on 440gsm PVC. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you. On this page, Christmas Banners start from £34.60.
