Build a stand in three layers

Walk any exhibition hall and the stands that work have the same bones. At the back, something big with your name on it, visible over people's heads. In the middle, somewhere to stand and talk. At the aisle edge, something that catches the eye of a person walking past with a tote bag full of free pens. Exhibition and display printing covers all three layers, and the same pieces work at a school prize-giving, an awards dinner or a mehndi night.

The back wall

Backdrops are big printed banners on 440gsm PVC or 400gsm PVC-free, made in stock sizes or any width and height you need. There are versions set up for trade shows, stages, theatre sets, bands, parties, weddings, photo walls and step and repeat press walls, plus a green screen backdrop for filming. For something that packs small and comes out at every show, Fabric Display Walls come straight, curved or wave-shaped, and Pop Up Displays in 3x3 or 3x4.

The meeting point

Promotional Counters come in oval, rectangle and triangle shapes, with replacement graphics for stretch fabric counters you already own. Stuck with the venue's trestle? Tablecloths and Runners dress it up.

The aisle edge

Totems are light cardboard towers for the front corner of a stand or a venue entrance.

Exhibition and display printing: PVC or fabric?

A PVC backdrop is the flexible choice: any size, bright print, hems and eyelets to tie it to a frame, stage truss or wall. It suits one-off events and awkward spaces. Stretch fabric walls come in set widths from 2.5 m to 6 m, pack small and go up again next month, which makes them the better buy if you're doing the circuit. Fabric pop ups and walls can be ordered as graphic and frame together, or graphic only if you already have the frame.

Sizes in exhibition and display printing

Stock backdrops run from 6 ft 7 in × 6 ft 7 in (2000 × 2000 mm) to 13 ft 1 in × 8 ft 2 in (4000 × 2500 mm), with custom sizes too; live prices are in the size table near the top of the page. Measure your space before you pick anything. Shell schemes and stages vary more than you'd think, and a backdrop 10 cm too wide is a problem at 8am on build day.

Artwork for exhibition and display printing

• Put logos and headlines high. Counters, tables and people block the bottom of a back wall.
• Work at finished size or an exact scale such as 1:10.
• For graphics seen from a few metres, 100 to 150 dpi at full size is plenty. Keep logos and text as vectors.
• Supply CMYK. Very bright RGB greens, blues and oranges can print a touch duller.

Timing and delivery

Exhibition and display printing covers PVC, fabric, frames and cardboard, so each product page shows its own production days, counted in working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Fabric walls and counters take longer than PVC backdrops, so order those first. Everything is made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. Items over 3 m on any side add £15.
