Why calendar printing pays its way
Most printed things get a glance and a bin. A calendar gets looked at every time someone checks what day the bins go out. That is why plumbers, garages, estate agents and takeaways send them to customers each December, why schools and football clubs sell photo calendars to raise funds, and why offices pin a planner up for holidays and deadlines. - On a wall, as a giveaway: Promotional Wall Calendars in A5 portrait or landscape, A4 landscape and 210 × 210 mm, on 130gsm or 170gsm silk or gloss, with a self cover or a heavier silk cover. From 1 to 200.
- On a wall, hanging from a hook: Wiro Bound Wall Calendars with a black or white wire binding, in A5 and A4 portrait or landscape and 210 × 210 mm. From 1 to 1,000.
- On a wall, with easy page turning: Thumb Cut Calendars have a small notch at the edge for your thumb, with 16 or 28 pages on 170gsm or 250gsm silk, from 148 × 148 mm up to A4. From 1 to 1,000.
- The whole year on one sheet: Folded Wall Planners in A2 (420 × 594 mm) or A1 (594 × 841 mm), folded to A4 so they post easily. From 125 to 2,000.
Paper and finish for calendar printing
Silk has a low sheen that keeps photos rich and dates easy to read, even under office lighting. Gloss makes photos brighter still, which is lovely for a club team photo or a landscape shot. For calendar printing meant as a present, heavier paper feels more like a gift and stands up to a year of page turning. A matt or gloss laminated cover protects the front of a wall calendar from grubby fingers in a busy kitchen. The size table near the top of the page shows live prices for popular options.
Planning your calendar printing artwork
- Send one PDF with single pages in reading order, not spreads, with 3 mm bleed on every page.
- Match the page count in your file to the one you ordered.
- Wall planners need a single flat PDF at the full A2 or A1 size.
- Check the year, the day each month starts on, and any bank holidays you add. Then check them again.
- Put your logo and phone number on every month, not just the cover. The cover gets flipped over in January.

Calendar printing times and delivery
Each product page shows its own production days for saver, standard and express, counted in working days from when your order and artwork are confirmed. Desk calendars, promotional calendars and wall planners take longer than the rest, so order those early if they are for Christmas. Every calendar is made to order and dispatched from the UK. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts (artwork fees excluded). Mainland Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted. See the delivery page.

Calendars: questions answered
Can I order just one calendar as a gift?
You can. A single copy is fine for the promotional wall calendar, the wiro bound wall calendar and the thumb cut calendar. The desk calendars and folded wall planners are sold in bigger runs, starting from 30 and 125.
What does thumb cut mean on a calendar?
There is a little scoop cut out of the page edge, so your thumb can lift the next month and flip it over easily. Choose 16 or 28 pages, bound with black, white or silver wire.
What size are the folded wall planners?
Two sizes, A2 or the larger A1. Each is folded down to A4 so it fits in the post, either cross folded or concertina folded and then halved.
How do I send calendar artwork?
Make one PDF with every page separate, running in order, rather than side-by-side spreads, and add 3 mm of bleed throughout. Check every date and month name carefully, as the pages print exactly as you send them.
Will someone look at my calendar file?
Yes. A person looks at each uploaded file for image quality, size and bleed. Our paid full design service can put a calendar together from your photos and brief. Paid design includes one first draft and two rounds of changes.
