Overview

PVC free banner printing, made to order and dispatched from the UK.

Ask one question before you order

The mistake people make is finding out at set-up. An exhibition organiser, a shopping centre or a big client emails the rules the week before, and one line says display graphics must be PVC-free. So ask first. If the answer is yes, or you simply want to keep PVC out of your own supply chain, order these and move on.

PVC free banner printing in real life

A charity has a stand at a conference with a no-PVC rule. They order one 6 ft 7 in × 3 ft 3 in (2000 × 1000 mm) banner for the back wall and a 4 ft 11 in × 1 ft 8 in (1500 × 500 mm) strip for the front of the table. Same artwork, two sizes, one delivery. A shop with a green buying policy might hang one inside the window for a season instead.

Timing and artwork

Standard production is 4 working days once your order and artwork are confirmed. Express is from 2 working days; saver is 6. Send a print-ready file, use the free online designer, or book our paid artwork service. Every uploaded file is checked by a person, free.

Delivery and more banners

We send to the UK mainland for £7.95, and it is free on orders of £100 or more after discounts. The 4000 × 1000 mm size is over 3 m, which adds £15. See delivery for islands and quoted areas. For standard material, look at PVC banners, browse all banners, or read what size banner you need before you pick PVC free banner printing for the next show.

Questions

Quick answers about pvc free banner printing.

Our school wants to avoid PVC. What is this banner actually made from?

A 400gsm material with no PVC in it at all. Once printed you would struggle to tell it apart from an ordinary banner: it takes full colour in the same way, and you can still order hemmed edges and plastic or metal eyelets for tying it up.

Who looks after the order once I have paid?

FatPrint does. Your artwork is checked by a person first, your PVC-Free banner is made to order, and a courier brings it to you with email tracking. Questions along the way? The question box on this page reaches a person.

Is the price shown for my PVC-Free banner order the full price?

Yes, for the goods. What the page shows is what you pay for the goods at checkout. Delivery, if any, is shown before you pay.

Will someone look at my file before the PVC-Free banner is printed?

Yes. A person checks every file you upload before printing starts, looking at resolution, bleed and whether the text will come out cleanly. Paid help is there too: a clean layout from your text and logo (£15), a design from your brief (£35) or a logo redraw (£30), each with one first draft and two rounds of changes.

Can I order several banners at once?

Yes. Anything from 1 up to 99 is priced on this page. The price per piece usually drops as the number goes up, which helps clubs and shops ordering in bulk. Goods worth £100 or more travel free to a UK mainland address; below that, delivery is a flat £7.95 for the whole order.

Can I check the cost before I order?

It starts at £34.86, the cheapest combination, and changes as you pick options. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Mainland UK delivery adds £7.95 to the basket, and nothing once the goods reach £100 after any discount code.

Asked by buyers

How much will PVC-Free Banners set me back?

£34.86 is where PVC-Free Banners start, set up as 400gsm PVC free and 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) on the Saver speed. Change the size, material, extras, quantity or speed and the total on the page moves straight away. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted).

Is delivery ever free?

It is £7.95 for the whole order, not per item, and free once the goods reach £100 after any discount code; design or artwork charges are left out of that £100. On its own the opening price of £34.86 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. Pick one of the biggest sizes and a one-off £15 oversize charge applies. A mainland Highlands postcode puts a single £10 on the order. Northern Ireland has its delivery priced before you pay, and so do the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man.

If I buy PVC-Free Banners today, when will they leave you?

As the page first opens, the speeds for PVC-Free Banners are Express 2 working days, Standard 4 and Saver 6, counting Monday to Friday and skipping bank holidays. The count begins once we have your order and a file ready to print. A bigger size or a different material can move it by a day either way; each speed shows its own days as you choose. Tracking arrives by email on the day it ships, and the courier usually takes one to three working days from there.

I cannot design at all. Can someone make the artwork for me?

Yes. When you choose the Artwork option you can pick from: send your own finished file (no charge), we set your words and logo on a tidy layout, called typesetting (£15), we design it from your brief (£35), we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30) or we create a brand new logo (£50). Each fee is fixed, sits as its own line in your basket and covers every item on that line. Typesetting and design from a brief each come with one first draft and two rounds of changes. Prefer to do it yourself? The online designer is free to use.

Does banner artwork need bleed the way a flyer does?

Think of it as a margin more than a bleed. Run the background right off every edge, then pull every word and logo a good 50 mm inwards, clear of the folded hem and the eyelets. Set the file up at full size or an exact scale like 1:10, with images between 100 and 150 dpi once scaled up. The online editor draws the eyelets and the safe area on screen so you can see where they fall. If you have no file, you can build the design for these banners in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Could I lay out these banners myself on your website?

Yes. Start the designer from this page, choose a layout to begin with, then drop in your text, logo and photos and drag them where you want. It checks as you go and warns you about leftover sample text, lettering that is too small, anything outside the safe area and images too low in resolution, all before you finish. Designing and previewing costs nothing. The watermark you see on screen is never printed; once you finish, it goes into the basket. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Which size of PVC-Free Banners gets noticed from across the street?

Grab a tape measure and stand where your visitors will stand. If they are walking past a few metres away, a modest size does the job; if they are across a car park or a road, go bigger. Choices here go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm) at the big end. Somewhere in between? A made-to-measure piece can be as small as 300 mm or as large as 5000 by 3000 mm.

Which is the smallest and which the biggest banner I can order here?

Smallest: 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm), from £34.86. Biggest: 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), from £154.56. 10 more are listed in between, each priced on the cheapest options. Need something in between? Type in your own width and height, anywhere from 300 mm to 5000 by 3000 mm. Not sure which? Mark the space out with tape or string first and stand back to look.

Is there a knack to tying up these banners?

Corners go first, which keeps it level, then the rest of the eyelets along the top and bottom edges. Pull each fixing just firm enough to take up the slack without stretching the banner. Cable ties, bungees and rope all work; bungees have a bit of stretch, useful for solid PVC on a windy railing. Check it again after the first gusty day and replace anything that has snapped. We print these banners on 400gsm PVC Free.

Is there a minimum quantity for these banners?

The smallest order is 1 and the largest listed is 99; the list starts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and carries on from there. The price on the page covers every item in that quantity. To compare two quantities fairly, split each total by its number. A bigger run than the list allows can be priced separately on our Get a quote page. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.86.

We are a school PTA on a tight budget. How do we get a banner for the summer fair as cheaply as possible?

Start with the smallest size, 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm), from £34.86, and the Saver turnaround, which is the lowest price and takes 6 working days before it is sent. Putting the design together yourself on screen costs nothing. Leave the year off so it can go up again next summer. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added.

Can a private person buy a single banner?

Yes. One is enough, and you do not need a business name or an account to check out. The opening price is £34.86, and any bank card will do. On its own the opening price of £34.86 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A person still checks your file before it is printed, just as for a big order.

How much for the biggest size, 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm)?

From £154.56, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. That clears the £100 mark on its own, so UK mainland delivery costs nothing. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all.

Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?

The only thing that can join the goods price is delivery; the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted). If you pick a paid design option, it sits in the basket as a separate line with its own fee, so every penny is listed before you pay.

How much does an 8 ft × 3 ft (2438 × 914 mm) banner cost?

From £62.02, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.86.

I live in the Scottish Highlands. Will PVC-Free Banners cost more to send?

The whole UK is covered. Outside it, sadly, we cannot deliver. Mainland addresses in the Highlands pay one extra £10 on the order, even when delivery would otherwise be free. For Northern Ireland, and for the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man, we tell you the delivery cost before you pay, so message us your postcode on the Contact page or our Get a quote page. Choose Saver and these banners leave us after 6 working days; Express brings that down to 2.

Is there a quicker turnaround for these banners?

Work back from the day you need them. Express takes 2 working days to get PVC-Free Banners out, against 6 on Saver, and costs £46.49 on the opening option rather than £34.86. Add up to three working days for the courier, plus any time you need to finish the file. Cutting it fine? Put your date in the question box before you order.

How many pixels does a photo need to print well on these banners?

Roughly 11,811 pixels across and 7,874 down for a 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm) design, which is 100 dpi. That is plenty for something people read from a few metres away; anywhere from 100 to 150 dpi at full size will do. Text and logos are safest as vector art, which never goes fuzzy. Pictures saved from a website or social media are nearly always too small, and our file check will point out any that could print blurred.

I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?

You will not be left guessing. Each uploaded file is opened and looked over by a member of the team, and problems such as low-resolution pictures, no bleed or the wrong page size are sent back to you to fix before printing. If fixing it sounds like a chore, choose typesetting for £15: we lay out your text and logo, show you a first draft, then make up to two rounds of changes. If you have no file, you can build the design for these banners in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Which file formats can I upload?

A PDF made at the size you ordered works best, with the fonts embedded or turned into outlines. AI, EPS and SVG are fine too, as are high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF images. Word, PowerPoint or Canva designs can be used, but save them out as a full quality PDF where you can. Attach up to 3 files of up to 25 MB each on the product page, or order first and send them afterwards; we email you a link. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Our wording is not finished yet. Can I still pay now and send it later?

Yes. Pay now and add the file afterwards: uploading after ordering is allowed, so you do not have to wait for the final version. If a volunteer, friend or designer is preparing it, they can send the finished file to you to upload, or get in touch through our Contact page quoting your order number. Nothing goes to print until the file arrives and has been checked, so if there is a date to hit, get the artwork over as soon as you can. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

How tall do the letters need to be so people can read these banners from a distance?

Start from how far back your readers will be. Capital letters 25 mm tall are good for roughly 3 m, so 240 mm capitals reach somewhere near 29 m. On a banner measuring 6 ft × 3 ft (1829 × 914 mm), that is one line of text once a 50 mm border is kept all round, leaving 814 mm of height. Add a smaller second line only if you really need it, and pick a thick, plain font.

Once I finish designing these banners online, is the file mine to keep?

Yes. Order printing with an online design and a full resolution PDF comes with it; after payment you can download it from your confirmation email or from My Account. Just want the file? Finish the design and buy the print-ready PDF on its own for £9.99. As digital content, it cannot be cancelled once the download begins. Make the artwork for these banners the same size as the one you order, such as 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm).

Is PVC-free banner material any good, and when should I use it?

PVC-free is a 400gsm material with no PVC in it at all. It prints in the same full colour and is well suited to indoor displays, shops, exhibitions and short-term jobs. If it is going outside for a long time, or somewhere with a lot of wind, the 440gsm PVC or mesh stands up better. Both are priced on the page, so you can check the same size in each material before you decide. We print these banners on 400gsm PVC Free.

Can these banners be made to my own measurements?

Yes. Pick Custom size and type in what you need. The shortest side can be 300 mm, and the biggest piece is 5000 mm long by 3000 mm deep, landscape or portrait. You pay the price of the smallest listed size your measurements fit inside, so a slightly odd size costs no more than it needs to. Imperial or metric both work; switch the unit beside the size box. Sizes for these banners go from 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) at the small end to 9 ft 10 in × 6 ft 7 in (3000 × 2000 mm), 12 in all. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

We have a school fair coming up. Would these banners be suitable?

They work well fixed to railings, fencing, a gazebo or an easel. Outdoors, look at the fixings again if it turns windy. Order with enough time for the making and the courier before the event. You will also find these banners in our Mechanics & Garages section.

I run a small shop. Would these banners work on the front of it?

That works well. Tie a PVC banner to the fascia or a railing to announce a launch, a sale or something new you now offer. As a guide, 6 ft 7 in × 3 ft 3 in (2000 × 1000 mm) costs £58.76. Ask your landlord first, and the local council too if the sign is big or illuminated, as some shop signs need advertisement consent.

Would these banners look right inside a hall or a shop?

Yes. PVC hangs flat and the print comes out crisp, so it suits school halls, church halls, receptions, stage fronts and indoor events. There is also a 400gsm PVC-free material on this product, a good pick for inside if you would rather avoid PVC. Inside you can skip the ties altogether. Hang it by the eyelets from hooks or a length of cord, or use hanging strips that peel off cleanly. You will also find these banners in our Mechanics & Garages section.

Could we put these banners up on a building site or around works?

For a few days, or somewhere sheltered, yes. If the banner will hang on open fencing for weeks, a mesh banner copes far better because the wind passes through. Secure every eyelet or hole with a cable tie and look it over after a gusty spell. You will also find these banners in our Mechanics & Garages section.

I work with mechanics and garages. Are these banners something we could use?

For garages, forecourts and service bays, look under Mechanics & Garages in the shop: PVC-Free Banners are listed there. Prices begin at £34.86; 12 sizes are listed, starting at 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm); they are made from 400gsm PVC free. People buying for that kind of work often add Car Door Magnetic Signs or Custom Size Banners. Put everything in one order and delivery is free at £100 or more.

Does the cable ties option I choose make a difference to PVC-Free Banners?

Add a bag or two of ties and you will not be hunting for them on the day you hang it. Do the four corners first, then work along every eyelet. For PVC-Free Banners the list runs 2 bags, 1 bag or none. Try each one on the page: the figure changes as you click, so the cost of every choice is clear.

Can you explain the eyelets setting for PVC-Free Banners?

The eyelets option has 2 settings: metal eyelets or plastic eyelets. Eyelets are the little rings set into the border so a tie or bungee can go through. If it is staying outside for weeks or months, go for metal, which lasts longer than plastic. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. We print these banners on 400gsm PVC Free.

Which hemming would you suggest for PVC-Free Banners?

The hemming option has 2 settings: Hemmed Edges or none. Hemming turns the edge over and welds it down, so the eyelets grip a double layer and the border is far less likely to rip. For anything facing the weather it is money well spent. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. We print these banners on 400gsm PVC Free.

How should I keep these banners between uses?

Make sure it is bone dry and clean, then roll it up loosely with the print on the outside, round a cardboard tube if one is handy. Try not to fold it, because sharp folds leave creases and the ink can crack along them. Snip off old cable ties before rolling so they do not press marks into the print, and store the roll in a dry cupboard well clear of radiators. We print these banners on 400gsm PVC Free.

Is it legal to hang these banners on a fence or building I do not own?

Only with the owner's say-so, so ask the landowner or building owner before anything goes up. In England, outdoor banners are adverts in the eyes of the 2007 Control of Advertisements Regulations. Plenty of temporary banners need no application, but the size, the location and how long it is left up all count. Your local council can tell you if you are in doubt. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each have similar rules of their own. We print these banners on 400gsm PVC Free.

Which cards do you take, and is paying online safe?

You pay by debit or credit card when you check out, and you can do it as a guest without making an account. Card details are handled by Stripe, a specialist payment company, so the full card number never reaches us or sits on our system. Printing starts after payment goes through and your file has been checked. If your group needs a price agreed before anyone pays, ask for a quote instead. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

Do I have to register before I can buy?

No. Guest checkout is fine, and card payments go through Stripe, so a debit card or a credit card both work. If you choose to open an account while checking out, My Account keeps your past orders and the print files of anything you designed online. Guest or not, you get an email confirming the order and another with tracking once it is sent. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each banner is made to order for you.

Can I swap my file once I have paid?

It depends on timing. Until production begins, a new file can replace the old one, or the order can be cancelled with a full refund; once it has begun, nothing can be changed. Message us straight away on the Contact page with your order number. Items printed exactly as supplied or designed do not count as faulty, so check names, numbers and dates first. Before delivery, these banners cost from £34.86.

I sell at a weekly market. Which banner fits along the front of a stall?

Look at the long, shallow sizes: 4 ft × 2 ft (1219 × 610 mm) from £34.86 and 4 ft 11 in × 1 ft 8 in (1500 × 500 mm) from £35.82 sit well along a table front or the top rail of a gazebo. Measure the width of your stall first, then tie through the eyelets to the frame. Put your stall name in big letters and one line about what you sell; that is what shoppers take in as they walk past.

How many cable ties will we need for these banners?

Count one per eyelet and keep a handful spare in case any snap. The eyelets are spaced evenly round the edge with one in each corner, so the bigger the banner, the more you need. One or two bags of ties can be added to the order, so they turn up with it. Buying your own for outdoors? Pick UV-stable ones. We print these banners on 400gsm PVC Free.
