Ordering and prices #
Will anything be added to the price I see on a product page?
Only delivery. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout for the goods. On top of that, sending an order to a UK mainland address costs £7.95, or nothing when your goods come to £100 or more after discount codes. Artwork and design fees do not count towards that £100.
Why does the total move when I change a size or material?
Every combination costs a different amount to make. A bigger size, a heavier material, an extra finish, a larger quantity or a quicker turnaround all change the work involved. The product page opens on the cheapest combination and recalculates the moment you change any option, so you always see the real figure for your choices.
The size I want is not on the list. Can you still make it?
Often, yes. Products marked as custom size let you type in your own width and height, as long as they sit inside the minimum and maximum given on that page. For anything else, send us the measurements and how many you need through the Get a quote page, and we will come back with a price.
We need a lot of the same thing for our club. Is it cheaper in bulk?
Where a product has quantity options, the price per item already drops as the quantity goes up, and you can watch that happen on the product page. For a really big run, beyond what the page offers, ask for a price through the Get a quote page.
Why does one cost more each than several?
The first one carries the setup and preparation: checking your file, setting up the machine and the finishing. Extra copies of the same design only add print and material, so the price per item drops as the quantity goes up. Product pages with quantity options show a small guide under the price, for example what 1, 2, 5 and 10 cost, and every figure there is the real price for those options.
What payment methods do you take?
Debit and credit cards, paid at checkout. You can check out as a guest without making an account. Card payments are handled by Stripe, so your full card number is never seen or kept by FatPrint.
Artwork and file checks #
Which kind of file prints best?
A PDF made at the finished size, with the fonts embedded or turned into outlines, gives the most reliable result. We also take AI, EPS and SVG, or high resolution JPG, PNG and TIFF images. Up to 3 files of 25 MB each can go on the product page, or you can upload after ordering. The artwork guidelines explain resolution and bleed.
Will someone look at my artwork before it is printed?
Yes. Designs made in the online designer are printed exactly as they looked on screen. When you send in artwork of your own, a person checks the resolution, the size and the bleed, and lets you know if something needs fixing. Paid design comes with one first draft and two rounds of changes. The turnaround clock starts once the order is placed and the artwork is agreed.
I have no design at all. Can you make one for me?
Yes. Many product pages offer paid artwork help, from setting your text and logo in a clean layout to a full design from your brief, each at a fixed fee shown on the page. If the option you need is not there, use the Contact page and tell us what you have in mind.
Design files #
Does it cost anything to use the online designer?
No. Building a design and previewing it on screen is free, as many times as you like. While you work, a little "FatPrint preview" watermark sits over the design. That mark is only on screen and never appears on the file we print from.
If I order printing, do I also get a copy of the design file?
Yes. Any design from the online designer that you have printed comes with its high resolution PDF, linked to the order. Once the order is paid, open My Account > Orders to save a copy, or use the link in the confirmation email we send you.
Can I pay for the design file without ordering any printing?
Yes. Finish your design in the designer and pick "Buy the print-ready PDF". Each design costs £9.99, and because nothing is printed or posted there is no delivery to pay. You get a PDF built to the finished size, bleed included and text outlined, for your own use only, not to sell on. As soon as payment clears, it is ready to download from My Account, with a link in your email as well.
What happens if I want my money back for a design file?
The law treats a PDF like this as digital content. When you buy, you request it immediately and confirm that the cancellation right is lost once downloading starts, which the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 permit. A broken file is different: if it refuses to open or comes out at the wrong size, let us know and you will get a working file or your £9.99 back. Please go over names and spellings slowly before you finish your design.
Delivery #
What will I pay for delivery?
£7.95 per order to the UK mainland, or nothing when the goods reach £100 after discounts. Very large items, meaning banners over 3 m on a side or boards bigger than A0, add £15 once per order, except street Correx signs. Mainland Scottish Highlands add £10. Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight are quoted before you order. We do not send outside the UK.
When will my order turn up?
Every product lists, for each turnaround choice, the number of working days before it is ready to leave us. Once it has been sent, the courier normally takes one to three working days, and tracking details arrive by email.
I have a deadline. Can the order be made more quickly?
Many products offer an Express turnaround, which shortens the time before your order is sent. Where it is available, you will see it on the product page along with its price, so you can weigh the cost against your date.
Returns and problems #
I changed my mind after ordering. Can I send it back?
Not once it is printed, sorry. Items made to your own design are personalised, so the usual 14-day right to cancel does not cover them. Up until production begins, though, you can cancel and get all your money back, so contact us as soon as you can.
My order came damaged or it is not what I ordered. What now?
Tell us within 48 hours and include photos. When something arrives broken or faulty, or differs from the artwork you signed off or uploaded, we will print it again or give you a refund, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides.
