Overview

The usual mistake with self inking stamp printing is picking the stamp before counting your lines. Write out what you want it to say first, then choose the size. A name and a phone number fits almost anything. A full business address with a postcode needs room.

Which impression size fits your words

  • 36 × 12 mm. Small and neat. One or two short lines, like a name and a web address.
  • 57 × 21 mm. The middle size, comfortable for a short address or a returns note.
  • 67 × 28 mm. The biggest rectangle, with space for a full address or a logo beside the text.
  • 10 mm or 15 mm round. Tiny circles for initials, a mark or a simple logo on a coffee card.

Self inking stamp printing: layouts and ink

On the product page you type each line and pick a layout: text only, logo and text, or text inside a border. A black-and-white logo works best, since the stamp prints in one colour. Choose black for everyday office use, blue so a signed document looks clearly original, or red for PAID, COPY and URGENT marks.

When the print starts to fade, re-ink the built-in pad with matching refill ink rather than buying a new stamp.

Where they earn their keep

A market trader stamps the brand on brown paper bags between customers. A café stamps a loyalty card at the till. An office stamps RECEIVED and the date on the morning post. A school office marks every returned form. Order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 or 20 stamps; a set of three, one per colour, is a common way to split jobs across a desk.

Timing and delivery

No upload is needed, since your wording is set from what you type, though you can also lay it out in the free online designer. Stamps are made to order and dispatched from the UK: Express from 6 working days, Standard from 8 and Saver from 10 once your order and wording are confirmed. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts; see delivery for other areas. Other sizes and styles of self inking stamp printing are in stamps, and the rest of the range is under stationery.

Questions

Quick answers about self inking stamp printing.

How long until my Self-Inking company stamp order ships?

Pick Saver (10 working days), Standard (8 working days) or Express (6 working days); that is the time before it leaves us. Postage to the UK mainland is £7.95 per basket, not per item, and free when your goods total £100 or more. Highlands mainland addresses add £10; Northern Ireland and the islands are quoted first.

I have no design file for my stamp. Is that a problem?

Not at all, no file is needed. Just type your wording line by line on this page and choose a layout. Pick the layout that combines a logo with text and you can add a black and white logo too.

Once I have ordered my company stamp, what happens next?

Your text is set word for word as you entered it, using the layout and ink colour you chose. If you built the stamp in the online designer, the design you signed off on screen is exactly what gets made.

Our address is quite long. How many lines will fit on the stamp?

That comes down to the stamp size and how long each line is. Whatever you type is set as written and sized to fit the impression area, so a larger stamp gives longer lines more room.

The stamp is getting faint. How do I top up the ink?

There is an ink pad built inside the stamp. Once the print starts looking pale, add a few drops of refill ink in the same colour to the pad.

Which size is right for my Self-Inking company stamp order?

A company name and address needs a rectangle, such as 57 × 21 mm or 67 × 28 mm. The round 10 mm and 15 mm stamps are for initials or a small logo.

Which ink colour should our office pick for the stamp?

There are three inks to pick from: black, blue and red. Black is a popular pick for addresses on letters and paperwork, and red works well for marks like paid or received.

Asked by buyers

How much will Self-Inking Company Stamps set me back?

£15.48 is where Self-Inking Company Stamps start, set up as rectangular, 36 × 12 mm and black on the Saver speed. Change the size, material, extras, quantity or speed and the total on the page moves straight away. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, with delivery the only thing that can be added. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted).

Is delivery ever free?

It is £7.95 for the whole order, not per item, and free once the goods reach £100 after any discount code; design or artwork charges are left out of that £100. On its own the opening price of £15.48 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A mainland Highlands postcode puts a single £10 on the order. Northern Ireland has its delivery priced before you pay, and so do the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man.

If I buy Self-Inking Company Stamps today, when will they leave you?

As the page first opens, the speeds for Self-Inking Company Stamps are Express 6 working days, Standard 8 and Saver 10, counting Monday to Friday and skipping bank holidays. The count begins once we have your order and a file ready to print. A bigger size or a different material can move it by a day either way; each speed shows its own days as you choose. Tracking arrives by email on the day it ships, and the courier usually takes one to three working days from there.

I cannot design at all. Can someone make the artwork for me?

Yes. When you choose the Artwork option you can pick from: we set the stamp from text you type in (no charge), you send a finished black and white stamp design (no charge) or we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30). Each fee is fixed, sits as its own line in your basket and covers every item on that line. Prefer to do it yourself? The online designer is free to use. Sizes for these stamps go from 36 × 12 mm at the small end to 67 × 28 mm, 3 in all.

Will my business name, address and phone number all squeeze onto one stamp?

The smallest impression, 36 × 12 mm, takes a line or two of short text; the biggest, 67 × 28 mm, has room for your business name, phone number and address. Small round stamps are offered as well. Every stamp prints in just one colour of ink and nothing runs off the edge, so keep it to plain text, a border or a simple logo; tiny detail tends to fill in.

Could I lay out these stamps myself on your website?

Yes. Start the designer from this page, choose a layout to begin with, then drop in your text, logo and photos and drag them where you want. It checks as you go and warns you about leftover sample text, lettering that is too small, anything outside the safe area and images too low in resolution, all before you finish. Designing and previewing costs nothing. The watermark you see on screen is never printed; once you finish, it goes into the basket. Make the artwork for these stamps the same size as the one you order, such as 36 × 12 mm.

Do I need a separate ink pad, and what happens when the stamp runs dry?

Pick black, blue or red ink. The pad is built into the stamp, which inks itself each time you press it down. When impressions get faint, add a few drops of matching refill ink rather than buying a new stamp. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each stamp is made to order for you.

Which sizes can Self-Inking Company Stamps be printed in?

Smallest: 36 × 12 mm, from £15.48. Biggest: 67 × 28 mm, from £24.33. One more is listed in between, and every figure is for the cheapest options. Not sure which? Mark the space out with tape or string first and stand back to look.

Could you price a 57 × 21 mm stamp for me?

From £17.97, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Sizes for these stamps go from 36 × 12 mm at the small end to 67 × 28 mm, 3 in all.

Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?

The only thing that can join the goods price is delivery; the price you see is the price you pay at checkout. Delivery anywhere on the UK mainland is £7.95 an order, and it costs nothing once the goods come to £100 or more after any discount code (design and artwork fees are not counted). If you pick a paid design option, it sits in the basket as a separate line with its own fee, so every penny is listed before you pay. Sizes for these stamps go from 36 × 12 mm at the small end to 67 × 28 mm, 3 in all.

Is there a minimum quantity for these stamps?

The smallest order is 1 and the largest listed is 20; the list starts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 and carries on from there. The price on the page covers every item in that quantity. To compare two quantities fairly, split each total by its number. A bigger run than the list allows can be priced separately on our Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each stamp is made to order for you.

Can a private person buy a single stamp?

Yes. One is enough, and you do not need a business name or an account to check out. The opening price is £15.48, and any bank card will do. On its own the opening price of £15.48 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero. A person still checks your file before it is printed, just as for a big order.

And the largest stamp, 67 × 28 mm: how much is that one?

From £24.33, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each stamp is made to order for you.

Is there a quicker turnaround for these stamps?

Work back from the day you need them. Express takes 6 working days to get Self-Inking Company Stamps out, against 10 on Saver, and costs £17.93 on the opening option rather than £15.48. Add up to three working days for the courier, plus any time you need to finish the file. Cutting it fine? Put your date in the question box before you order.

I live in the Scottish Highlands. Will Self-Inking Company Stamps cost more to send?

The whole UK is covered. Outside it, sadly, we cannot deliver. Mainland addresses in the Highlands pay one extra £10 on the order, even when delivery would otherwise be free. For Northern Ireland, and for the Channel Islands, the Scottish islands, Scilly, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man, we tell you the delivery cost before you pay, so message us your postcode on the Contact page or our Get a quote page. Choose Saver and these stamps leave us after 10 working days; Express brings that down to 6.

Our wording is not finished yet. Can I still pay now and send it later?

Yes. Pay now and add the file afterwards: uploading after ordering is allowed, so you do not have to wait for the final version. If a volunteer, friend or designer is preparing it, they can send the finished file to you to upload, or get in touch through our Contact page quoting your order number. Nothing goes to print until the file arrives and has been checked, so if there is a date to hit, get the artwork over as soon as you can. Sizes for these stamps go from 36 × 12 mm at the small end to 67 × 28 mm, 3 in all.

Which layout choices come with Self-Inking Company Stamps?

In short, the layout line for Self-Inking Company Stamps reads: Text only, logo and text, or border. Anything unusual in mind? Send the details through our quote form and someone will reply. The Specifications tab lists every other detail. The artwork help pages walk through bleed, resolution and file formats step by step.

Which file formats can I upload?

A PDF made at the size you ordered works best, with the fonts embedded or turned into outlines. AI, EPS and SVG are fine too, as are high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF images. Word, PowerPoint or Canva designs can be used, but save them out as a full quality PDF where you can. Attach up to 3 files of up to 25 MB each on the product page, or order first and send them afterwards; we email you a link. If you have no file, you can build the design for these stamps in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?

You will not be left guessing. Each uploaded file is opened and looked over by a member of the team, and problems such as low-resolution pictures, no bleed or the wrong page size are sent back to you to fix before printing. Nothing is printed until a file passes that check, and you can send a corrected one. If you have no file, you can build the design for these stamps in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Will anyone look at my file before it is printed?

Every file gets a human check for size, bleed and resolution, and we contact you about any problem before printing. With the online designer, what you see on screen is what gets printed. Nobody can know your details better than you, so double-check names, numbers and dates: we print what is supplied, and work begins once the order and file are confirmed. Make the artwork for these stamps the same size as the one you order, such as 36 × 12 mm.

Once I finish designing these stamps online, is the file mine to keep?

Yes. Order printing with an online design and a full resolution PDF comes with it; after payment you can download it from your confirmation email or from My Account. Just want the file? Finish the design and buy the print-ready PDF on its own for £9.99. As digital content, it cannot be cancelled once the download begins. You deal with FatPrint the whole way through. Need to ask something along the way? Use the question box here or the Contact page and a real person answers.

Can I swap my file once I have paid?

It depends on timing. Until production begins, a new file can replace the old one, or the order can be cancelled with a full refund; once it has begun, nothing can be changed. Message us straight away on the Contact page with your order number. Items printed exactly as supplied or designed do not count as faulty, so check names, numbers and dates first. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each stamp is made to order for you.

Which cards do you take, and is paying online safe?

You pay by debit or credit card when you check out, and you can do it as a guest without making an account. Card details are handled by Stripe, a specialist payment company, so the full card number never reaches us or sits on our system. Printing starts after payment goes through and your file has been checked. If your group needs a price agreed before anyone pays, ask for a quote instead. Before delivery, these stamps cost from £15.48.

Our club needs a big batch of stamps, or an odd size. Can you price it?

Our Get a quote page is the place, and it also handles delivery to Northern Ireland and the islands. For anything the page cannot do, tell us the size, number, material, date and postcode on Get a quote, add a file if you have one, and we email a price back. Before delivery, these stamps cost from £15.48.

I am not sure which options to pick for these stamps. Can someone advise me?

Of course. Tell us three things: where these stamps will go, whether it is for one day or for years, and your deadline. Send that through the question box on this page or the Contact page, and a member of the team will suggest options. If what you need is outside the options listed, the Get a quote page lets you describe it and get a price. Sizes for these stamps go from 36 × 12 mm at the small end to 67 × 28 mm, 3 in all.

Our treasurer needs a receipt for the accounts. What do we get?

Every order gets a confirmation email listing what was bought, the options chosen and the amount paid, and a club, school or small firm can file that as its record of payment. What you pay for these stamps is the price shown on the page plus any delivery charge, nothing more. If your accounts need a particular kind of invoice, ask through the Contact page before you order and we will tell you what we can provide. Sizes for these stamps go from 36 × 12 mm at the small end to 67 × 28 mm, 3 in all.

The parcel turned up damaged. How do I sort it out?

Look everything over when it arrives. If something is damaged or missing, contact us within 48 hours through the contact form, with your order number and photos of both the item and the packaging. Please keep hold of it until we reply; we then sort out a reprint or a refund. Your legal rights stay the same, as the returns page sets out. Before delivery, these stamps cost from £15.48.

I have never ordered printing before. Do I need to know the technical words?

No. A person on our team checks every file for size, bleed and resolution and tells you in plain words if anything needs changing. The free online designer also warns you about small text and blurry images before you finish. Type your question into the box on this page and a person replies. If you have no file, you can build the design for these stamps in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Can I design these stamps first and show the committee before we pay?

Yes. The online designer is free to use, so you can build the design, look at it on screen and share it round before anyone commits. The preview carries a watermark on screen only; it never appears on the printed item. When everyone is happy, finish the design and order. What you see is what gets printed, so check names, dates and numbers together first. Make the artwork for these stamps the same size as the one you order, such as 36 × 12 mm.

Which mistakes does the online designer warn me about?

Spelling is the one thing it cannot judge, so read that yourself. It does catch placeholder words nobody changed, tiny lettering, anything drifting beyond the safe area or near the trim, blurry logos and photos, and objects covering words. Issues that would spoil the print stop you finishing until they are sorted; lighter warnings you may choose to accept. Make the artwork for these stamps the same size as the one you order, such as 36 × 12 mm.
