Overview

Flyer printing at FatPrint, in short: a flyer has one job: get an offer, a date or a menu into someone's hand, cheaply and quickly. Most people pick the size first. Pick the paper first instead, because that decides whether it gets kept or binned.

Paper weight: how heavy is right

  • 130gsm. Light and thin, like a good magazine page. Best for thousands of door drops where cost per sheet matters.
  • 170gsm. A step firmer. A good middle ground for hand-outs in the street.
  • 250gsm. Stiff enough to stand on a counter or pin to a board without curling.
  • 350gsm and 450gsm silk card. Postcard feel. Use it for price lists and leave-behinds that should last.

130gsm, 170gsm and 250gsm come in gloss or silk. Gloss is shiny and makes photos pop. Silk has a low sheen and is easier to read under shop lights. The two cards are silk only.

Flyer printing sizes, from pocket to poster

There are nine: A7, A6, DL, A5, A4 and A3, plus three squares at 105 × 105 mm, 148 × 148 mm and 210 × 210 mm. A6 (105 × 148 mm) and A5 (148 × 210 mm) are the classic hand-out sizes. DL (99 × 210 mm) slips into an envelope or a menu holder. A3 (297 × 420 mm) is big enough for a notice in a window.

Real jobs, real numbers

A window cleaner covering three estates might order 2,500 A6 flyers on 130gsm. A pizza place might want 1,000 DL menus on 250gsm silk, printed both sides. A school fair might only need 50 A4 posters for noticeboards. Quantities run from 25 to 25,000, and the price each drops as you order more.

Files and delivery

Upload a print-ready PDF with 3 mm bleed, make one in the free online designer, or pay for our artwork service. A person checks every uploaded file for free; the artwork guidelines explain bleed. Flyer printing is made to order and dispatched from the UK: Express from 2 working days, Standard from 3, Saver from 5, once your order and artwork are confirmed. UK mainland delivery is £7.95, free on orders of £100 or more after discounts; see delivery. Folded and laminated options are in flyers and leaflets.

Questions

Quick answers about flyer printing.

How fast can I have my flyer order?

Express gets it out in 2 working days, Standard ships after 3 working days and Saver, the lowest price, after 5 working days. Mainland UK delivery adds £7.95 to the basket, and nothing once the goods reach £100 after any discount code. Highlands mainland addresses add £10; Northern Ireland and the islands are quoted first.

How do I prepare my artwork for my flyer order?

Set it up as a print-ready PDF at the finished size with 3 mm bleed round every edge, and keep text 3 mm or more inside the trim. Paid help is there too: a clean layout from your text and logo (£15), a design from your brief (£35) or a logo redraw (£30), each with one first draft and two rounds of changes.

Will you tell me if something is wrong with my file?

We will. Every upload for your flyer order is checked by a person for resolution, size and bleed, and you hear from us before anything is printed. Paid help is there too: a clean layout from your text and logo (£15), a design from your brief (£35) or a logo redraw (£30), each with one first draft and two rounds of changes.

We are leafleting the whole estate for our summer fair. What paper weight makes sense?

For a big door drop or inserts, the light 130gsm and 170gsm papers keep costs and bulk down. 250gsm has more weight to it. If the flyer will sit on a counter or be picked up a lot, the stiff 350gsm and 450gsm silk cards last longer.

Should my takeaway menu flyer be gloss or silk?

If you want food photos and colours to pop, gloss gives a shiny, vivid finish. If there is a lot of reading, silk has a gentler sheen that cuts glare, which makes text easier on the eye. You can get either in 130gsm, 170gsm and 250gsm.

I am posting flyers through letterboxes. Which size works best?

Most door drops use A6 (105 × 148 mm) or A5 (148 × 210 mm). If the flyer is going in a DL envelope, choose DL (99 × 210 mm), and for handing out across a counter, the little A7 (74 × 105 mm) is handy.

Do these standard flyers come with a laminated finish?

They do not; this range is unlaminated. For thick card with matt, gloss or soft touch lamination, have a look at our laminated flyers.

Asked by buyers

How cheaply can I get hold of Flyers?

Picked the way the page first loads, with A7 (74 × 105 mm), 170gsm gloss and front only, Flyers come to £18.68. Any other mix of options, a faster turnaround included, gets its own price the moment you choose it, and that figure is what you pay at checkout. Only delivery is left to add. On its own the opening price of £18.68 would add £7.95 for mainland delivery; reach £100 of goods and that goes to zero.

Is delivery extra on top of the price of Flyers?

Send it to a UK mainland address for a flat £7.95, or for free when the goods in the basket add up to £100 or more after discounts; artwork and design charges do not count towards that. An order of just this at the opening price of £18.68 is under £100, so it pays the £7.95. We price delivery first for Northern Ireland and for the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, Scilly, the Scottish islands and the Isle of Man; Highland addresses on the mainland just pay £10 extra, one time per order.

Which turnaround speeds can I choose for Flyers?

Allow 5 working days on Saver, 3 on Standard or 2 on Express before Flyers are handed to the courier, based on the options the page opens with. Weekends and bank holidays are not counted, and nothing starts until the order is paid and the artwork is confirmed. Pick another size or material and the days beside each speed update, sometimes by a day. After it leaves us, the courier normally delivers in one to three working days and you get the tracking link by email.

Which artwork services are offered with Flyers?

Several routes, all chosen under Artwork on this page. Send your own finished file (no charge), we set your words and logo on a tidy layout, called typesetting (£15), we design it from your brief (£35), we redraw a blurry or low quality logo as sharp vector art (£30) or we create a brand new logo (£50). Typesetting and design from a brief each come with one first draft and two rounds of changes. The fee is the same whatever quantity you order and shows separately in the basket. There is also a free online designer if you want to build it yourself. On its opening option, Flyers leaves us after 5 working days on Saver.

Is the online designer free, and how do I use it?

Pick a starting layout, swap in your own words, logo and pictures, and move things around until it looks right. While you work, the tool flags sample text you forgot to change, small text, items outside the safe area and blurry images, before you can finish. It is free to use and the on-screen watermark does not print. What you see is what we print. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A7 (74 × 105 mm).

Thin or thick: what paper weight suits these flyers?

For a menu or price list that sits by the till, go for 250gsm or more; it handles like thin card. A leaflet you want kept on the fridge feels more solid at 170gsm. Posting thousands through letterboxes? 130gsm keeps the cost down. The lightest option on this page is 130gsm and the heaviest 450gsm. For these flyers, the material can be 450gsm silk card, 350gsm silk card, 250gsm silk, 250gsm gloss, 170gsm silk, 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss.

Which is the smallest and which the biggest flyer I can order here?

The table has 8 sizes. At the small end, A7 (74 × 105 mm) costs from £18.68; at the top, A3 (297 × 420 mm) costs from £24.72. Each figure is for the cheapest set of options at that size. Unsure? Measure where it will go and check the view from the spot people will stand.

How much does an A5 (148 × 210 mm) flyer cost?

From £20.48 for 25, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £18.68.

How many Flyers can I buy at one time?

Anything from 25 to 25000. The quantity choices on the page run 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000, and upwards. The figure shown is for the whole batch, not for one, so divide it by the number you picked to see the cost of each. If you need more than 25000, send the size, number and date through our Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.

Is there a minimum quantity for Flyers?

Yes. You can start at 25, with 50, 100, 250 and 500 as the next steps. Each price is the total for that quantity, so divide it to compare the cost of one item across a few options before deciding. For an amount outside the list, ask for a quote. Sizes for these flyers go from A7 (74 × 105 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 8 in all.

How much for the biggest size, A3 (297 × 420 mm)?

From £24.72 for 25, with the cheapest settings and the Saver service. Add £7.95 for UK mainland delivery, or nothing at all once the goods reach £100. Select it on the page and swap materials, finishes and speed to watch how the figure moves. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £18.68.

I am never sure how many to print. How many flyers is sensible?

Start from how many you will really hand out before your details or offer change. This page goes from 25 up to 25,000, and the price per flyer usually falls as the number rises, so compare a couple of amounts. For a one-off campaign, a modest first order is a cheap way to test the design. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £18.68.

Could the total go up after I reach the checkout?

No surprises: what the page shows for these flyers is the goods figure you pay at checkout. Delivery is the one extra, £7.95 to a UK mainland address, and it drops away when the goods reach £100 after discounts. Paid artwork help shows up as its own basket line, so you can check each amount before paying. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.

Our event is close. Can Flyers be rushed?

Yes. Choose Express and Flyers can be on the way in 2 working days on the opening option, for £21.63, where Saver is £18.68 and takes 5 days. Then give the courier one to three working days, and send the artwork with the order, because the clock does not run until the file is sorted. If the date is really tight, message us on the Contact page before paying and we will tell you honestly.

Do you send to Northern Ireland or the islands?

Yes, anywhere in the UK, though the price differs by area. A Highlands postcode on the mainland pays the usual rate plus a single £10 for the order, and that £10 still applies when the rest of the delivery is free. Northern Ireland gets a price worked out first, as do the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, Scilly, the Scottish islands and the Isle of Man: send your postcode through our Get a quote page or the Contact page. We cannot send anything outside the UK. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £18.68.

Will anyone look at my file before it is printed?

Yes, a real person on our team opens every uploaded file and checks the size, the bleed and the resolution. If something is off, you hear from us before anything is made. Designs made in the online designer are printed exactly as they looked on screen. We print what you send, though, so read the spelling, numbers and dates yourself as well. Making starts when the order and the file are both confirmed. If you have no file, you can build the design for these flyers in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Someone else is putting our file together. How does it reach you?

Easiest route: they send the finished file to whoever placed the order, and it gets uploaded after ordering. Up to 3 files of 25 MB each are fine. They can also reach us through the Contact page, as long as they quote your order number so it lands on the right job. Production waits for the checked file, so a late file means a later dispatch date. Sizes for these flyers go from A7 (74 × 105 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 8 in all.

I am not a designer. What if the file I send turns out to be unusable?

That is why a person looks at every upload before anything is printed. Typical snags are a document at the wrong size, missing bleed, blurry photos and words sitting too near the trim. If we spot one, we explain what to change and you send a fresh file. Or hand it over to us: for £15 our typesetting places your wording and logo on a neat layout, with one first draft and two rounds of changes. If you have no file, you can build the design for these flyers in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

How many pixels does a photo need to print well on these flyers?

Close-up items need about 300 dpi at full size. So an A3 (297 × 420 mm) layout wants about 3,508 by 4,961 pixels. Keep lettering and logos as vectors if you can. An image copied off a web page or a social post rarely has enough pixels; if yours looks likely to print soft, our file check flags it.

Can I send a Word or Canva file for Flyers?

Word, PowerPoint and Canva are a fair place to start, but export a high quality PDF from them before uploading. Our first choice is always a PDF at the ordered size with fonts embedded or outlined, followed by AI, EPS or SVG, then high resolution JPG, PNG or TIFF. You can add three files, each up to 25 MB, on this page, or upload them after ordering from the email we send. Sizes for these flyers go from A7 (74 × 105 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 8 in all.

Once I finish designing these flyers online, is the file mine to keep?

Two ways. Buy the file on its own: finish your design and pay £9.99 for the print-ready PDF, though you give up the right to cancel as soon as you start downloading it. Or order printing, and a full resolution PDF of the design travels with the order, waiting for you in your confirmation email and under My Account once you have paid. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A7 (74 × 105 mm).

Do Flyers have a laminate?

Straight from the details for Flyers: Unlaminated. The rest of the spec sits in the Specifications tab further down the page. Want it done another way? Describe it in the question box or on our quote form, and a person will let you know if it can be done.

Does the paper option I choose make a difference to Flyers?

The paper option has 8 settings: 450gsm silk card, 350gsm silk card, 250gsm silk, 250gsm gloss, 170gsm silk, 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss. The gsm figure is the weight of the paper in grams for each square metre, so a bigger number means a thicker, firmer sheet. Silk and gloss have a coating that keeps print sharp and bright, while uncoated sheets take a pen more easily. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds.

Printed on Flyers: how do the choices differ?

The printed option has 2 settings: both sides or front only. It sets which sides of the item get printed. Switch between them on the page and the total updates straight away, so you can see what each one adds. For these flyers, the material can be 450gsm silk card, 350gsm silk card, 250gsm silk, 250gsm gloss, 170gsm silk, 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss.

Would Flyers be useful for air conditioning and refrigeration engineers?

For air con and fridge servicing, look under Air Con & Refrigeration in the shop: Flyers are listed there. Prices begin at £18.68; 8 sizes are listed, starting at A7 (74 × 105 mm); the material choices are 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss. People buying for that kind of work often add Door Hangers or Letterheads. Put everything in one order and delivery is free at £100 or more.

Do electricians buy Flyers from you?

Yes: Flyers sit in our Electricians section, next to other things electricians buy for rewires, testing and inspections. Prices begin at £18.68. 8 sizes are listed, starting at A7 (74 × 105 mm). The material choices are 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss. Also in that section: PAT Test Fail Labels and Car Door Magnetic Signs. One basket can hold the lot, and delivery is free once the goods reach £100.

I run a small cafe. Could I print our takeaway menu as a flyer?

Yes. Sizes here that suit a menu include DL, A5 and A4; the smaller formats tuck into a takeaway bag and the larger ones fit a full menu. Choose 250gsm or heavier so it copes with being handled on the counter. Print both sides: food and prices on one, opening hours, address and how to order on the other. Prices change, so order a batch you will use before the next menu update. You will also find these flyers in our Plumbers & Heating Engineers, Mechanics & Garages, Gas Engineers, Food & Hospitality, Electricians, Builders & Construction and Air Con & Refrigeration sections.

I work with builders and contractors. Are these flyers something we could use?

Yes: Flyers sit in our Builders & Construction section, next to other things builders and contractors buy for sites, extensions and renovations. Prices begin at £18.68. 8 sizes are listed, starting at A7 (74 × 105 mm). The material choices are 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss. Also in that section: Danger Falling Objects Sign and 24 Hour CCTV in Operation Site Banner. One basket can hold the lot, and delivery is free once the goods reach £100.

Should I get Flyers, or would Rounded Corner Flyers suit me better?

Set Flyers beside Rounded Corner Flyers and a few things differ. Material: 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss on this page, against 350gsm silk card, 250gsm silk or 250gsm gloss on the other. Sizes: 8 on this page, the smallest A7 (74 × 105 mm), and 7 on the other, the smallest A7. Opening price: £18.68 on this page and £25.86 on the other. On the Standard service it is 3 working days on this page and 6 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

Where do Flyers and Laminated Flyers differ?

Set Flyers beside Laminated Flyers and a few things differ. Material: 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss on this page, against 450gsm silk card or 350gsm silk card on the other. Sizes: 8 on this page, the smallest A7 (74 × 105 mm), and 6 on the other, the smallest A7. Opening price: £18.68 on this page and £26.93 on the other. On the Standard service it is 3 working days on this page and 6 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

How would I decide between Metallic Foil Flyers and Flyers?

Comparing Flyers with Metallic Foil Flyers, this is what changes. Material: 170gsm gloss, 130gsm silk or 130gsm gloss on this page, against 350gsm silk card or 350gsm uncoated card on the other. Sizes: 8 on this page, the smallest A7 (74 × 105 mm), and 4 on the other, the smallest A6 (105 × 148 mm). Opening price: £18.68 on this page and £58.31 on the other. On the Standard service it is 3 working days on this page and 7 on the other. Go by the spot it is going in and how long it needs to last, then open both pages and compare the live totals.

Can I send these flyers back if I no longer need them?

If they arrive faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, yes: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we reprint or refund. A change of mind is different. Each order is made to your specification, and reg. 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 takes those goods out of the 14-day right to cancel. Before production starts, though, you can cancel for all your money back. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £18.68.

Our treasurer needs a receipt for the accounts. What do we get?

Keep the order confirmation email we send: it itemises the purchase and the payment, and works as a plain receipt for your records. The total at checkout for these flyers is the goods price on the page plus delivery, so the email matches what left the account. Need something more formal for an audit or a grant claim? Message us from the Contact page with your order number. Sizes for these flyers go from A7 (74 × 105 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 8 in all.

I am not sure which options to pick for these flyers. Can someone advise me?

Yes. Type your question into the box on this page and a real person replies. Mention where the flyer will be used, how long you need it to last and the date you need it by. Answered questions may be shown on the page for other buyers, so leave personal details out of it. Private questions can go through the Contact page, and anything the options here cannot price can go through the Get a quote page. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.

Next year we will want the same flyer again. Is reordering easy?

Very. Choose the same product with the same options and upload the same file, and it is made again exactly as before. Designed it online? The print PDF from your first paid order stays in My Account and in the confirmation email, so you can reuse it. Before you repeat it, read the wording again: dates, prices, opening times and contact details are the things that go out of date. Sizes for these flyers go from A7 (74 × 105 mm) at the small end to A3 (297 × 420 mm), 8 in all.

Our club needs a big batch of flyers, or an odd size. Can you price it?

Yes. Fill in our Get a quote page, giving the size, how many, the material, when you need them and the delivery postcode, and attach your artwork if it is ready. A price comes back to you by email. Get a quote is also how delivery to Northern Ireland and the islands gets priced. Before delivery, these flyers cost from £18.68.

I am ordering these flyers for a school or charity. Do I need to open an account?

No account is needed. Guest checkout lets a parent, volunteer or club secretary order once and pay by debit or credit card through Stripe. The price you see is the price you pay at checkout, and the confirmation email you receive lists the items and the amount paid for your records. If the committee needs a price agreed before anyone pays, the Get a quote page is the better starting point. Nothing is printed ahead of time: each flyer is made to order for you.

Can the back of these flyers carry different information from the front?

Yes. Pick the option to print on both sides and send a two-page PDF: page one for the front, page two for the back. Use the back for a map, opening hours, a price list or terms and conditions, and keep the front for the main message. The online designer lets you flip between the two sides. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A7 (74 × 105 mm).

I am a parent volunteer with no design experience. Can I still order these flyers?

You do not need to be a designer, and nobody expects a parent or a club helper to be one. You can use the online designer at no cost, which checks things like tiny text and blurry photos as you go. Or choose typesetting for £15 and send us your text and logo; you get a first draft and up to two rounds of changes. A second pair of eyes on the spelling always helps. If you have no file, you can build the design for these flyers in our free online designer and check every detail before ordering.

Which mistakes does the online designer warn me about?

Five things: placeholder wording still sitting in the layout, lettering smaller than will print clearly, anything creeping past the safe area or right up to the trim, logos or photos with too few pixels for the size, and shapes lying on top of words. A serious issue has to be sorted before you finish, while a plain warning can be accepted if you are happy with it. Your spelling is not read, so go over names, numbers and dates yourself. Make the artwork for these flyers the same size as the one you order, such as A7 (74 × 105 mm).
